By far my favorite spot in stirling/bridge of allen. I wish I could bring this place back with me…read moreto the states. We honestly became addicted to coming here. The service almost always was super attentive and always made sure we were taken care of. 10/10 recommend the millionaire bars they were almost always delicious and moist I also think it might depend on the baker whose baking too which batch and cutting the bars and desserts because somedays the pieces are different or taste just a little bit better but regardless always tasty! However the only one we did not like surprisingly was the carrot cake. It was just weirdly dense not cakie and like juicy its a bit weird to explain but just wasnt our favorite. Everything else though awesome and the food is just superb! I think my favorite was the vegan fry or haggis toastie if you like a bit of sweet and salty combo! If you go on the weekends however I do recommend having a booking or you most likely wont get in till later in the day. I'll miss you hideaway the best food!

Having had brunch here previously, heading here for lunch was something I was excited about. It was very busy this time round so service was understandably a little slower. We did have a short wait for a table but it really wasn't long till we were seated considering it was peak lunching hour. Oh my word. Sandwich heaven. I had the bacon and mozzarella baguette with hot salsa and guacamole and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of cheese, lots of bacon, lots of yum. The Hideaway is just the perfect spot for tea and cake, I definitely want to sample their baked goods soon. Very, very soon!

As front-of-house theatre cafes go, this is one of the best. The Beacon is a new-ish building and…read morethe cafe/bar is very clean and modern in style, with large windows providing good views over the river. It's open throughout the day, so you can drop in for coffee or brunch; but they really excel at the pre-show dinners. Really nice food that is well-presented with attentive service. Good sized portions too. If you want a classy theatre experience come and eat here beforehand, but allow plenty of time so that you can relax into the genteel atmosphere and enjoy the views across the Clyde.

It was quite busy, with the headlining band eating right among the other patrons, but we were able to find one empty table which was nice. We ordered our drinks and sat down and enjoyed the atmosphere before the concert. This is a huge bistro, plenty of seating for a meal if you're in the area (with or without seeing something on at The Beacon) and plenty of nice staff members around to help. Even though we were only here for a quick drink, a staff member came over to make sure we weren't after a meal. Looking back, it would have been nice to have a bite to eat, as we weren't able to score any solid meal after the event, only drinks. Great place, and I love the star lamps in the windows.

Saturdays are really busy so was glad I decided last minute to book a table. The menu is filled with sandwiches, bagels, paninis etc and all come with soup for £5.95 which is a bargain when you see the portions. However the most popular order seemed to be the high tea for two, which at £5 per person is amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, with a mix of couple, familes and quite a few grannies being treated to tea and cakes by their grandkids. The decor is nothing fancy, but the setting and welcoming staff easily makes up for it There is fabulous selection of Suki teas and homemade baking. Soups of the day this week were tomato with basil and potato and leek. Last wee I tried the curried butternut squash which was amazing! The setting is lovely and the food is well worth the 15min drive from Dennistoun. There is a garden centre and lovely views onto the loch so you could easily spend a few hours over a coffee, chatting and escaping city life. I can't speak highly enough of this place and look forward to making myself a regular! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tea-House-On-The-Loch/141357772588944?fref=ts

First things first: this is my favourite cafe in Oban. Great food, best coffee I've had in Britain…read moreso far (and I'm Aussie, so you know I'm picky) and the friendliest staff you ever did meet. This cafe is a local favourite, although they welcome travellers with open arms! A mix between cafe and local produce store (think cheeses, whole milk, and some fresh fruit). Charming, very homey decor with maps all over the place. Why? To show you just exactly where the "Food from Argyll" comes from! They list the local businesses they source their produce from & put it all there on the maps for you to see. They also have a big world map & a collection of stickers, so visitors can mark out where they're from! Such a cute idea, and immediately endearing. And the food! Simple, no-nonsense, and delicious. I had poached eggs on brown toast with black pudding (great pud, I have to say!) and my partner grabbed scrambled eggs on brown toast with the hot smoked salmon (again, wow! Best smoked salmon he's had). We unfortunately devoured the meals before taking a photo, but it's reasonably priced for the excellent quality of the ingredients (though I'd love to see some sourdough bread on the menu, and some juices) and for the work they clearly put into their relationships with local businesses. Good coffee, great food, best staff ever. It feels like they love working there and love talking to you. All in all, would absolutely recommend.
