I'm sure you hear this a lot, but the breakfast we had at this restaurant was the best breakfast I've ever had, no doubt! I had the eggs Benedict, which was the perfect portion, cooked to perfection, and left me wanting more. The sauce was light and mixed with the egg in a way that was just indescribable. The French toast with bacon offered a great mix of sweet and savory. Syrup was available if you wanted it, but honestly, you didn't need it. My wife had the fluffy scrambled eggs, creamy, cheesy, served over toast with bacon and hash browns. This is something she gets often, and she has had none better than the ones here. The service was excellent. It's not the biggest restaurant, but the tables seem to move fairly quickly, and they have outdoor seating on warmer days. The whole experience was a delightful way to start our day. So if you happen to be in Glasgow, Scotland, you have to check out the Wilton Street Pantry, you will not be disappointed! read more

This was a great place for Sunday Brunch. It was within walking distance of our hotel in Merchant City and the reviews suggested that it was worth a try. The reservation that we made was worthwhile as they were booked past 1 PM when we arrived at 11:30 AM. They offered a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated inside and attended to right away. Our server was excellent the entire time we were there. The menu was condensed with some tempting choices. My wife opted for the Avocado Toast, which was loaded generously. She enjoyed it quite a lot. I tried the marinated cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, mozzarella, rocket, pesto and smoked almonds on toasted sourdough. I was likewise happy with my selection. I can also report that the coffee was very good. My wife had a Macchiato and said it was quite nice as well. Including the food, drinks and a small tip, the total bill was £36. At £18 per person, this was not cheap but I had no problem with the value. The experience including the food, the service and the vibe all added up to make this worth the cost. If we're in Glasgow again, we'd be happy to do brunch here again. read more

My husband and I stopped in during our visit to Glasgow. This is a charming little cafe. I got the honey whipped feta & ricotta with tomato, pistachio pesto, and prosciutto and a pot of tea. What a great place in the Merchants area of downtown Glasgow. The eggs were phenomenal. They were cooked perfectly, whether we had them poached or scrambled. On Yelp it's said open at 8 am The lady basically told me to leave. They are close till 9 am. Ok. So change your information on Yelp. It's wrong. And misleading people. I did a walking tour in Glasgow. When it was finished, we decided we wanted to get something to drink and eat. I found the Wilson Street Pantry. Wow! The food was delicious. The service was exceptional. I ordered the sweet potato coconut basil, tomato soup with the chorizo and goat cheese sandwich. I also had a chai latte afterwards. I've been to the Wilson Street Pantry around 5/6 times now and having explored the menu a bit now, I can happily say this is one of the best breakfast/lunch/brunch places in Glasgow city centre. I would recommend: The apricot and mascarpone french toast if you're feeling something sweet but not too sweet (I prefer it over the red fruits one, which is crazy sweet). Eggs Benedict is always a good option, and they do a great one! And of course to round it up, they do a good avocado toast with smoked salmon or eggs. The bread is hard to cut but very delicious. Food is great, coffee is fab and the staff is very nice. So Wilson Street Pantry is a solid 5/5! read more

We wandered into Wilson Street on our way from The Barras to Glasgow Cathedral, and we were not disappointed. We were immediately greeted, and our sever offered to take our jackets. Once we were sat, they brought out water and our requested coffee. We had the eggs Benedict and the special (chorizo beans, poached eggs, toast), both dishes for under £8. Wilson Street Pantry was everything I hoped I would find for my Sunday Brunch and they delighted me thoroughly. The French toast was perfect, equally as good as I have had, short of past "Stuffed" french toast full of decadent contents ( but that's another story). One top of the french toast was english bacon, and two perfectly cooked Scottish eggs. It was profoundly good. Or, as the Scots say " It was lovely". I pass by here daily and have been eagerly awaiting the opening of The Wilson St Pantry. A couple of weeks ago I spotted the'opening soon' sign and immediately scheduled a bunch visit with the Mr. Previously The Plum Tree, this unit has been closed for refurb for a few months. And what a change it's had! There's clearly been a lot of thought behind the layout of The Pantry - most of the tables are for 2, but easily combined for larger groups. There's also one huge stainless steel table with benches which could easily sit 8-12 folks. At the far end, there's a display of wines, breads etc for sale. One of the things I liked most about our visit today was the fact that the kitchen is completely open - you can see that all their food is freshly prepared. So, feeling quite starving after a late Gin Club last night, we trotted round to The Pantry for brunch. I required 3 things from this visit: coffee; tasty food; and fast service (I was meeting a friend round the corner in 30 mins). I was not disappointed. In any way. The latte I had was strong (but not bitter), hot, not creamy and I loved the stoneware cup and saucer. I opted for French toast, bacon & maple syrup - it was so tasty! The bacon was lean and crispy, and I liked the fact that the maple syrup was in a separate wee jar. It absolutely hit the spot for me! The service was superb - all the staff were really friendly and eager to ensure we were happy. The chef even came over to check we enjoyed our food. And it was fast service, but a very relaxing and unrushed experience. I'm looking forward to going back and trying out some of their other food. read more

Pulled pork eggs benedict. Let me just repeat that... PULLED PORK EGGS BENEDICT! Does food get much better than this? Well... if you add some Stornaway black pudding then yes, yes it does. Visiting here for some brunch on a Sunday morning I spotted this dish up on the specials board and didn't even have to look at the menu. Perfectly poached eggs with bright orange yolks, melt in the mouth barbecue pork with just hint of heat on a toasted English muffin. The wife ordered scrambled eggs on toast with avocado. I ate half of that too. I am not even ashamed. Wilson Street Pantry also sell Papercup coffee so I ordered a cappuccino. This is the smoothest cup of coffee I have ever had, and I have a slight caffeine addiction. So good in fact that I ordered a second cup to wash it down. read more

After watching the multitude of high scoring Yelp reviews roll in, I was very keen to give this place a try. Yesterday morning when we went along it was absolutely mobbed, but we got lucky timing wise and a wee table became available which we grabbed. The menu looked lovely, it had a mixture, breakfast, brunch and lunch items. There was also several coffee styles and drinks on offer. I went with a flat white (paper cup coffee) which was great and then just drank the free water they supplied as soon as you sat down. On the food front I went a bit crazy as I ordered the bacon Benedict with three different sides of link sausage, black pudding and toast. I finished it all (obviously) but I was stuffed and did not need to eat again until 8pm! Everything was cooked to perfection apart from the bacon which was just slightly to crispy for me, but it was still tasty and alongside the epic eggs and sauce I hardly noticed. The food here is really good, the decor and atmosphere is cool & modern and sight of snow slowly falling outside whilst we ate made for a lovely brunch date with Trudie M. Definitely the best place for brunch in the merchant city. I will be back soon, hopefully I manage to beat the crowds and get a table again. read more

First time here which is shameful as it's been getting great reviews since day 1. A light brunch was on the cards and after being warmly greeted - caveat, one of the staff is a very good friend - and shown to our table the first order of the morning was CAFFEINE!! One flat white and a pot of tea ordered, we perused the menu and it didn't take long for me to choose (mostly because I'd already kinda decided before I got there). One bacon roll for Kirsty, and the avocado on toast for me, plus some poached eggs. The coffee - beans provided by Papercup - was perfect. Smooth blend, creamy and dark, it was so good I had two!! The food was fab, and whilst it wasn't the most challenging dish, the eggs were poached well, the avocado was perfectly ripe and the sourdough bread gave it all a nice savoury hint. Drops of lemon oil added a nice zing to it as well. Price wise is was pretty reasonable, and there is a nice relaxed casual atmosphere that I really liked. Upmarket without being snobby, and all of the staff were helpful, friendly and fast on their feet! Fab stuff, I only wish I was in the area more often! read more

Having come here for Brunch Club on Saturday, I now see why this place has bagged that elusive overall 5-star rating! I'd been wanting to go for ages but hadn't managed it, and I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt as Brunch Club can often result in sheer panic for some businesses, being faced with anywhere between 12 and 20 hungry Yelpers is certainly no walk in the park! But Wilson St Pantry didn't disappoint! Brunch Club is quite possibly my favourite Yelpy happening, and I had surveyed the menu a fair few times before it as I was determined not to just get Eggs Benedict as I usually do. I was pretty set on the French Toast with mascarpone and berries...until I set eyes on the specials board that is. Once I saw chorizo beans on toast with fried eggs I absolutely *had* to have it, and it turned out to be a very good choice indeed. I guzzled down a rather delicious cappuccino while I waited for my order, and we were also presented with wee complimentary samples of their granola with yoghurt and berry compôte. A lovely surprise and so tasty as well! Right. Chorizo beans. How am I meant to be able to eat normal beans now?? They were so delicious and I can't stop thinking about them. The sourdough toast and eggs went perfectly with them and the whole dish was just what I needed on a Saturday morning. The portion was a seriously decent size as well! (Which slightly scared me as I was going for lunch afterwards with my family, because I am a piggy. But have no fear, I managed a starter and dessert at lunch! .....oh ok and a slice of Brother Debs' pizza. Oink oink!) The staff were great and even brought over some buttery toast for Sarah M's little one, Puff, without being asked to! They were just really thoughtful the whole time and made the experience that wee bit more special. I managed to resist getting a slice of cake (only due to the aforementioned brunch) but I'm already dying to come back! I suggested coming here after seeing all the rave reviews. There was practically a full house when we got there but we managed to get seated thankfully. There was a plug point behind us and wifi to use. So this was a perfect set up for our laptop meet up. I got Peppermint Tea that came in a teapot and I ordered the Florentine Egg Benedict. The poached egg was not runny, but it was delicious all the same. It was a lovely dish and well presented. There was one point my eyes started streaming and I had to go down to the loo to sort my panda eyes. When I came back up my friend said the same happened to her, and that they were chopping chillies and onions. I guess that's the downside of being seated so close to the kitchen area! read more

I've been back to Wilson Street Pantry so many times now that this review definitely deserves an update! I've tried a lot of the menu now and I have to say - they've yet to disappoint me. As I like to use this as a working space, I normally just have tea and cake while I'm here. The honey bergamot cake is a thing of beauty and probably one of my all-time-favourite cakes in Glasgow. I also love the brunch offerings and have even had eggs florentine as an afternoon snack. Win. They have ever-changing specials so make sure you check out the board before you order. In the summer they make their own lemonade which is perfect for anyone who is sick of fizzy drinks or sugar conscious. You can get a whole pitcher! The staff are warm and friendly. The place is comfortable and they don't seem to mind if you pitch up for a few hours work (I always order excessively as I feel bad about working from cafes). Wilson St is definitely one of my Glasgow favourites and I always get really excited when someone else tries it out and loves it as much as I do! Parking: on the street, out the front if you're lucky or park at King Street carpark and walk up. Kid friendly, great with dietary requirements and the loos are downstairs (with a disabled loo at the top of the stairs). They take Swipii card. read more

After reading all the great reviews & being a fan of Brunch/long, lazy breakfasts I had to try this place out. This was my 1st visit to TWSP so I had high hopes...I am glad to say I wasn't disappointed. It's a nice, airy place with only a few tables. I imagine later on in the day this place would get busy. We luckily managed to grab a table just before it did. First winning point was for serving breakfast ALL DAY; YAS. Anywhere that offers this instantly scores highly on my list. Their menu isn't hugely extensive but when I asked if I could make a few changes they were more than happy to serve whatever I wanted, how I wanted; again, big thumbs up for this. My boyfriend went for his usual; Eggs Benedict and I went for the poached eggs on sourdough toast with a square sausage. My boyfriend really liked his EB (it did look really good) and my food was really nice too. The only gripe I would say is I felt the bread was sliced a bit too thin. It was very crispy & therefore hard to cut, aside from that my eggs & sausage were lush. I ordered a soya cappuccino & glass of water & my boyfriend had a soft drink. My cappuccino was very good ~ not too strong, not too weak/milky. Not sure what coffee they use here but it was nice. I couldn't help but notice they sell Bakery 47 cakes here & there was one particular cake that kept catching my eye ~ Maple Pecan cake! UH. It was calling my name...it was saying 'Put me in your mouth!...Eat me!...' So, not wanting to be rude (I think I have been a bit already ~ apologies) I bought it & ate it & yes it felt good. NO SHAME. Price-wise this place isn't the cheapest but then again it's not silly expensive either. I think it's pretty much as you would expect for a cafe in the Merchant City. They offer a few pantry/deli items here too and I must add the toilets are quite far away downstairs so anyone that's prone to getting lost easily (Me; sometimes!) beware.
