    Mini beef Wellington
    Valerie B.

We dined at One Eleven Grill on our last evening in Red Deer on a Saturday night and it was a wonderful experience! We did make an online reservation a few hours before and glad that we did. The restaurant was busy with a larger wedding party and other regular customers. We were seated in a booth and our server Sierra, stopped by to welcome us within a few minutes of us being seated. She was very pleasant throughout the evening and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu and portion sizes. We ordered a Hawktail Cervesa draft and a Passionate Pear Punch for our beverages. They were both brought out within 10 minutes and both were delicious! My hubby ordered the full rack of ribs and I ordered the Mini Beef Wellington and the risotto of the day which was Onion. This is why I went down 1 star is because our food took a long time to come out. It was over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. But when our food did arrive, it was beautifully served and everything tasted amazing! My "mini" beef wellingtons were a big portion! It was 2 - 2.5 ounce servings. The pastry crust was so light and fluffy, the meat was cooked perfectly and the garlic aioli and au jus that came with it were delicious! My onion risotto was creamy and it tasted like french onion soup, but taken to the next level! Everything was served hot and was so decadent! My husbands ribs came with coleslaw, baked beans, veggies and fries. The coleslaw was good, it could have used just a bit more acid to the flavor. The baked beans.....omg....absolutely amazing! So tasty and a great flavor! He really enjoyed his ribs and they had a lot of sauce on them as well. We both really enjoyed our meals at One Eleven and just wish the food had come out a little sooner. We did notice that the lights above the tables almost made us feel like we were being interrogated. LOL! They were pretty bright and if they were tilted like 5 degrees or something, or a dimmer bulb, that would have been a bit better. The music was a bit loud for dinner service and made it feel more like a casual pub/dining experience, but the ambiance and decor is more on the elegant, romantic side. Even if the music was turned down just a tad, it would have been a better. Overall, we would definitely dine at One Eleven again. We really enjoyed our drinks, food and our server was friendly and pleasant.

I took my mother and her sister to dinner at this restaurant for my mother's birthday. We called for a reservation but they were none available between 4-8pm. Although we were able to book in the lounge, so we did. When we got there at 6pm, we saw that they also had tables on the patio and we were able to sit there. They had live music in the lounge and my mother thought it was too loud inside and it was a very nice evening so we took the patio. We skipped the appies and went straight to the main course. I had the braise beef rib my aunt had a steak and my mother had the mini beef Wellington. The beef Wellington was actually an appetizers but was large enough for a meal for my mom. All the food was prepared very well and tasty. For desert we split a sticky toffee pudding which got my fingers sticky so no pic. It was large enough for 3 to share. We will certainly go back when we have another special occasion.

An excellent place for a date, anniversary, or for drinks with someone you care about. Excellent food (some of the best in the city), elegant decor, lively + knowledgeable staff, and fun owners. I recommend the Mini-Yorkies, French Onion Soup, and most often my date has the Drunken Muscles. Great Martinis as well. Live music on some nights. Offers both sit down restaurant and at the bar service. Allergy friendly. Not the best place to bring small children, but 12+ aged kids would do fine. One of the top 3 places to eat between Edmonton and Calgary, Rocky Mountain House to Camrose. 5* rating. Upside: - great food - great atmosphere - awesome staff Downside: - tricky to find if you aren't from Red Deer - you get what you pay for; higher class food worth higher prices. - two of the largest horse head pictures I have ever seen: very "Godfather"

They do not have a designated parking space, but it's usually not too hard to find some angle street parking nearby. They are a smaller establishment, so reservations are highly recommended to avoid disappointment; that being said, we were very lucky on our recent visit on a busy Saturday night as we were able to get seated at the bar right away without a reservation. The ambience is unique, with red lights that dimly light the space and small bar lamps at the tables. The bar we were seated at had a wavy counter which was aesthetically pleasing, but a little impractical as there were a few times I nearly dropped my cutlery/plate/cup due to uneven spacing. They offer clean, spacious gender-neutral bathrooms, which is always great to see in Red Deer.  As for their food, we ordered their Seoul Searching flatbread and Bœuf Bourguignon. We weren't particularly blown away by either dish; tasty for sure, but also nothing memorable. I personally found the Bœuf Bourguignon had very little meat, but the house-made bread was a nice and fluffy accompaniment that soaked up the flavours of the stew really well. The Seoul Searching flatbread comes with chicken, kimchi, mozzarella and gochujang sauce and was on the spicier side compared to what I expected. I did wish there was more hints of sweetness with this flatbread, which would have made it more representative of the flavours typically associated with Korean cuisine, but that's just my personal preference!

Fro sure we enjoyed the mushroom flatbread much more compared in flavour than the potato and procuitto. Really nice vibe in there and great friendly service. The evening started badly in the poorly laid out parking lot for a handicapped person with the parking stalls at the far end. The only way to get my mobility scooter on the sidewalk was at the entrance. Once inside things didn't improve. A stranger at the next table actually asked me "did they forget about you?" as I waited and my wife tried to consume her questionable prime rib which had to be sent back. This place added little to my wife's birthday dinner. After years we are considering choosing a different restaurant for our occasions in the future.

On my way to be seated, I walked past the lunch buffet which looked liked there were plenty of tasty offerings. However, I went with a recommendation of the steak sandwich. The quality of the meal was just so so, but my experience of a nice wait staff and the price ($11.95) elevated the rating to 4 stars.

The chef's salad, but even then you're not guaranteed to receive the same sized plate/bowl or that it will contain the same ingredients from visit to visit. I've tried sandwiches, wraps, potato skins, burgers, desserts, soups, etc. Many times the dishes are overcooked, so they're dry, dark in colour, & sometimes a husk of their former selves. If they're not overcooked, some are just not particularly tasty. Asparagus soup. A "chocolate" dessert that tasted very un-chocolate-like. Etc. The dining area has quiet corners which makes it an ideal restaurant for conversation. Something not easy to come by, these days. So, I enjoy the quiet, dimly lit corners, the pleasant staff, and try to eat before meeting friends. Or I order the salad...

Through our dining experience, we got the impression that after tasting the 10 meats and getting our sides, that we should be done and to leave. Our waitress seemed surprised when we kept wanting to make orders. It was not too busy either. We dined for two, and even asked for double our portions, with our waitress saying "no problem!". What we received after asking for double, was less than 1/3rd of the portions every time after with 20 minutes wait each time. This photo is an example of what came when we asked for the Rib Eye, Rump Steak, Pork, and bacon filet migon. We only got one pork, and one rump steak. And this happened pretty much every time we made a request for more food. I was blown away. We asked 3 times for more garlic bread and such too, and never received any. This was extremely disappointing, and given that you pay a minimum of $50 each on weekends, this is a LAUGH. We even had planned on desert and to get the digesto shots, but after getting incredibly annoyed after 2 hours, we decided to give up and leave. We could have gotten completely full from normal portions at any other restaurant, and not have had to wait 2 hours. After making our 3rd or 4th order, our patience left and we gave up trying to ask for anything because we were not going to get half of it anyway. We didn't want that much meat so we opted for the salad bar. There were lots of nice flavors, a couple of bread options then some awful hot options that resembled prison food ..... not edible and the mashed potatoes were water mush. All this for $36 each!
