I had this company out to install a new outside unit and attic unit. They worked quickly. They left a mess in the attic. A WEEK LATER... a "manager" showed up to check on the work, and said some things weren't converted correctly although the ac had been working fine since the install. He set up a date to fix the "error" . They showed up at the time scheduled and were in and out. However, up leaving the manager said "you hot water heater will need to be converted from electric to gas, and probably needs to be replaced." Which is odd as it's a gas water heater. I didn't think anything else of it, until the hot water heater pilot kept going out. I went to the attic to check and to my shock... the gas line had been crimped shut. Why would a heat and ac company do this? Your guess is as good as mine. read more

2022. Our AC gave up on Saturday as usual. We called on Sunday and Rick came in about 3-4 hours. He immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed it. We were offered the maintenance plan and that was exactly what we were looking for. Rick was very professional, explained everything and answered all the questions. We are looking forward to having this company take care of our AC needs. Definitely recommend! Update 2024. Well, after couple of years with this company I have to change my review. I am not happy with couple of things. We got a new AC with this company. It felt like they sort of put us into that situation by saying that there is a Freon leak and to find the leak will cost us $5000. And even if they find it it will cost even more to fix it. But finding it would be very challenging. We are not idiots, but more like didn't have time to look for second opinion, take off work etc. so we got what 1Hour Ac was recommending. So much car salesman talk we received while they were installing the unit, it was a bit much. Y'all should ease up on the fake praising of the unit. That was alarming to me but I didn't listen to my gut, like I should have. Then after it was installed, every time the yearly or half year check up and tune up end up with "oh you have to have this, you need to get do this, otherwise you will end up paying much more!!!" So we did purchased surge protectors for $600+. That's fine, since our street does lose power on a sunny day out of nowhere. Flickering happening even without storms. Then it was the algie removing solution or filter. At that point I said no. The calls that kept coming to schedule that install was just too much. Now, we had our heater tune up and the guy shows me couple of mandatory things that need to be fixed:1. Electric box isn't attached to the wall. It is hanging on the side. I asked why when they installed the unit it wasn't attached the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know". 2. The drain pipe doesn't have another entrance pipe for either putting vinegar solution or to blow it out...the drain pipe is actually wrapped and they did it when they installed it. Again, he couldn't tell me why they did that. And my husband was asking them at the time why there is none, and at the time they said we don't need it. That they put some solution that would last us a year and we don't have to worry about this. They didn't put it but now they want $700 for putting it in-very logical, not. I feel scammed by this company and honestly, I dread the club visits, because every visit ends up with scare tactics and money pulling. I don't know what I would do, and it might be the business, but it smells bad. And I don't appreciate treating us, loyal customers like idiots. I probably won't find a better people, but warning to anybody who wants to call them:be alert and don't fall for scary tactics and pushback.I definitely learned my lesson. Update march 2025 Saga with this AC company continues. After purchasing two surge protectors, one day our new, only 2 year AC stopped working. Luckily we had tune up scheduled the next day. The guy came in, checked and saw that one wire was completely burned out. But surge protectors were totally fine. Now, Entergy must have done some work, we don't have power flickering or power outages anymore. Well, the guy didn't let me finish what I was saying and blamed the flickering on this burned wire. And guess what he said? "It was an act of god, and it isn't covered by the warranty of either the unit or surge protectors." So, how the surge protection didn't work? He said, oh those are totally fine, they are doing their job. This issue must have overpassed protectors. And blamed everything on power flickering. I've tried and tried telling him that it isn't happening anymore, but he didn't listen or didn't let me say what I had to say. Then he said if motor is dead it wasn't covered under warranty either. Complete bull....Motor was working fine. We had to pay $600 to fix the wire. I wish I would NEVER deal with this company, but we are now stuck with them. I hate this company. Another update, 3/18/2025 Well, after I posted this update, I got a call from manager who refunded me almost full amount saying that we were never supposed to get charged to something that was under warranty. Do not use this company. They installed an exceedingly expensive system in my home just a few years ago. My stupid mustake. I took out the maintenance/service contract for just under $20 monthly. My stupid mistake. When they come out in spring and fall to check out my system, there's always something I'm charged that's "not covered" by the warranty and/or maintenance contract. My stupid mistake. When they started trying to scare me into letting them install some very expensive "necessary additions" to my system, I started doubting the truthfulness and integrity of this company. This is by far the worst company that I've dealt with... please beware they are a rip off and should be shut down!!!! One hour have me a quote for a new unit and installed it but failed to complete the job properly. They misquoted me and took my money. When I discovered that the work wasn't done and was left with the same issues prior to taking out a loan and paying them $10k plus, they refused to speak either me. After reporting them to the State for fraud they finally called back. The conversation went no where and I'm stuck with a $10k bill for no work!!! They should be shut down immediately. The minute the repairman walked in the door my head was spinning. His goal seemed to be selling us a maintenance plan while pushing a new unit. He talked to us as if we were from another planet even asserting his superior knowledge as a electrical engineer all while giving us a lot of double talk about what the problem truly was. We had just had both units serviced by our regular company less than a month prior so we knew many of the things he said was wrong and not true. That didn't stop him though, he then started claiming that my Freon was low and we had a leak and that he could.add Freon for 400.00 a pound. We refused. He never started the unit, never identified the problem.. His explanations were all over the place. Everything he did and said was textbook AC repairman scams. After nearly 3 hours of his nonsense we paid the 150.00 service fee and asked him to leave. We are an elderly couple and I feel completely taken advantage of. My greatest fear is that he purposely reduced the Freon in the unit to justify adding more. After he left we watched him on our security cameras make an additional trip to the unit with the pressure gauges in hand. We told him we would get our regular AC repairman out the next day. There was no need for him to touch the unit after that. I called this company because they had pretty good reviews and I needed someone out here the same day. I made a huge mistake.. I didn't expect to have such a negative experience and to be left feeling like I had been beaten over the head with a 2x4. My expectation is that when I have a need for a service call I'm going to be dealing with an honest broker. This time not so much. read more

I dont usually leave reviews but given the experience we've had with One Hour Air, I felt I should warn other consumers. I'm now seeing that this company has already earned a pretty terrible reputation. After our air conditioner went out last summer 2020, we were convinced to go with an extremely expensive two stage unit instead of making repairs to the existing unit. We were told the new unit would be more energy efficient, providing better operability with our older home, and bring lower cost on monthly bills. This unit was installed and pretty much broken from the get go. We spent nearly every week of summer 2020 (June - November) with the unit inoperable for days at a time. Fan had to be replaced, circuit board was replaced twice, additional ventilation was cut in the home, thermostat replaced all within 4 months time. 4 months after being installed, the entire air handler was finally replaced (this is after me telling the manager I wanted this two stage unit gone and him never returning my phone call afterwards). Fast forward to today, July 2021 and the unit is broken for the second time this week. The fan motor and circuit board are both not functioning and will need to be replaced. This appears to be a reoccurring failure point in this style of unit. The style of unit and company have officially become a nightmare. To say we regret using One Hour Air is an understatement. To the technicians who have tried so hard to make this unit work, we appreciate you. read more

Literally the worst. DO NOT USE this A/C company. I was charged $778 for 5 lbs. or R-22 Freon in May 2019 to keep my unit cool, wasn't told how much it would cost beforehand, and was then charged another 3.25% on top of this for paying with a credit card instead of a check. If I had known another 3.25% would be tacked on to the already exorbitantly high price for Freon, I would have obviously paid with a check. After all of this, I was never provided with an invoice or receipt. I only found out how much it cost when a $900 charge hit my credit card. Then, when I tried to call to get a copy of the invoice, they assured me it had been emailed to me. When I asked what email address they had on file, they said they did not have one on file. When I provided an email address to have a copy of the invoice finally sent over, I never received it. After calling for a second time and providing my email address again, I finally got a copy of the invoice. I have since called around to other A/C companies to see what they charge for R-22 Freon, which is expensive because they aren't making it anymore. Other companies are charging around $80/pound, which is half of what One Hour A/C charged me. Lesson Learned: Never use One Hour A/C. There are plenty of great A/C companies out there that actually have good customer service and aren't trying to rip you off. A/C companies in NOLA don't need to rip people off to be successful; the business will always be pouring in with this type of heat. read more

Avoid this heating and A/C company because the guys they send out into field for the install will take advantage of old people if they get the chance. It was either late 2016 or early 2017 when my father, who at the time was age 78 spoke to an air conditioning guy who either lived with his girlfriend or was just always visiting her and at the time she was living next door to my father and his yellow van with the advertisement of "One Hour Heating and A/C was always parked in the driveway and my father went to talk to the guy because he wanted a brand new A/C indoor and outdoor system. Not sure how he was talked into choosing the most expensive system out of the three that were offered to him. I wish he would've called me or my brother to help him with this purchase so that we could've told him that he didn't need the most expensive system because my brother and I knew our father wouldn't be around for too many more years due to his health. He had had one stroke already and the possibility of him having another was probably right around the corner. So the most inexpensive system or the next expensive expensive would have been good enough. Well, just a few months after the A/C system was installed, my father had another stroke and it was much worse than the first one. So, to make a long story short, he was very incapacitated, living in and out of the hospital, and going back and forth between there and the nursing home until he passed away in a hospice on 12/27/18. My brother and I just sold his house and the closing is 8/14/19. But, AND HERE'S WHERE THE STORY GETS INTERESTING, today on 8/10/19, when my brother and I were moving the rest of our father's stuff out of his house, in this drawer where my father kept some important stuff, I found this empty box that one of those fancy WIFI thermostats are sold in. Well, there is no fancy WIFI thermostat mounted on the wall in the hallway. At my father's age of 78 and already having one stroke, he was easy to take advantage of. So I'm sure the guy who installed my father's A/C came with a WIFI thermostat thinking he had a computer with WIFI included. But he didn't figure on my father being someone who hadn't joined the computer age. My father was pretty much old fashioned and if he didn't need it, he didn't buy it. But like I said earlier, the box was empty and I'm sure the installer guy removed the contents of what was in the box and kept the thermostat for himself and still added the cost and markup of the thermostat to my father's bill. Well, I live in Slidell and I can't wait for the next day that I have time to drive to Mandeville along with the empty box and demand my father's money back as part of my brother's and my inheritance. read more

For a replacement part of $150-$250 and two hours labor the job was classified as level 5 (highest difficulty) and charged $1100. Even with a modest markup the charges for "club members" was excessive. read more

We had issues with our a/c unit not getting cold. They came out and diagnosed it as a " possible leak" without even getting in the attic to confirm his diagnosis. We were charged $900 dollars. The unit started blowing cold air. A week later, a/c back to as it was before. Called the company, they came out. Cost us $200 to "re- diagnose" the problem. There was a leak in the coil. Quoted us $4100 to fix it. When we told them, that this was obviously the problem prior, we were told there was no guarantee. So, now it's going to cost us an ADDITIONAL $4100 on top of the $1100 we already paid you- FOR THE SAME ISSUE! I understand that the initial assessment could be off, but no one put forth enough effort to check it out. Putting freon in the unit was the easy way out for them. And btw- we ended up getting the coil replaced by some other company. Only cost us $1700! Save your money- go to someone else. read more

I want to first applaud Gavin for his professionalism on the phone with me as I wasn't the easiest person to deal with. He didn't once get irritated and did his best to explain everything to the best of his ability and is the reason this is not a one star review. In addition the company does seem to have a great and affordable service program but do your research before taking my word for it. Before setting the appointment I purchased the YELP coupon advertised here and made the service agent scheduling the appointment aware of that. Once the tech arrived he and his boss had no knowledge of the coupon. I emailed him the proof of purchase at his request and was informed that the coupon was for a different type of service. I read through the fine print and saw no restrictions. When I asked what they charge for labor and what the cost of parts to be replaced were I was told they use a "straightforward pricing". If the prices are straightforward and consistent the calls to the boss to get prices for work to be done seemed irrelevant and should've made providing a written/electronic estimate even easier. All said and done I was quoted $1500, paid $100 for a $150 coupon that I couldn't use, paid another $150 for the after hours service call, and was never given a written estimate for the work to be done and how it broke down. I spoke with a friend in the business from another state who, after checking the model and serial number, informed me that the system was about 12 years old and a lower quality unit. Had them come out because our air wasn't working, they added Freon for about $900.00 and that was at a discount with signing up for them to service our units every year so he supposedly cleaned the units out. A couple of days later the wall in the living room was leaking water had to have someone else come out cause I already didn't trust the guy that came out from one hour (he was more interested in selling us a new unit) and the unit was leaking again so the guy from the other company had to unclog the unit that was clogged and added a switch to shut it off so it wouldn't happen again. The unit was not cleaned out from the couple of days before when one hour came out and was suppose to clean it. The second company that fixed the problem charged about $100.00 and it has been fine since. read more

One Hour delivered what they promised and what I paid for. They were very thorough, on time and informative. Mary, in the office, kept us updated of where the technicians were and when they would arrive. We had the whole AC system replaced and moved to the attic. It took two days and we were without AC for only a few hours on the second day. I would highly recommend this company for all of your heating and cooling needs. All the employees that came to the house were very nice to work with. Damien, Charles, Armando and James did a superb job. We could not be more pleased. read more

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. They are a bait & switch rip off. I fell victim to their ads when in need of after hours A/C repairs at rental property. Spoke with answering service & was told tech would called when in route. No one called tech just showed up and made repairs. Tenant called me to let me know tech was there. Repairs were made without prior approval. Tech eventually called to collect $841.49 for unauthorized repairs. I questioned to the charges and was told he replaced the dual capacitor for $266 and installed a hard start capacitor kit for $397 plus $150 service charge. Then I really started arguing with the tech over the outrageous charges, as I know that a capacitor cost around $15 and a hard start kit around $20. I was told he didn't have authority over the company's set rates. But, I could call the office on Monday to mitigate the cost which I did. They then offered to discount the repairs if I signed a service contract. I refused their offer as it was now obvious this company is ripping off it's customers. ***BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY*** Typical BAIT & SWITCH company that works to lock you into their year long "Comfort Club" contract to enjoy savings but it will end up costing you in the end. This company is a total rip off. After I had a routine $100 checkup, I received a sales pitch as to why I should "join the club" to get a discount and was told I could "cancel the next month" without any penalty. Of course that wasn't what the contract said. Seemed like a great way to save $50 but then when I tried to call and cancel, I was told I had to pay the difference which was $150 more than what I paid. What I didn't know is that with the comfort club membership the technician cleaned my unit WITHOUT TELLING ME and that was a $0 charge (typically $150 if you request a cleaning) they slipped into my bill without notifying me. So when I went to cancel, it now becomes worth keeping the club membership due to this extra secretive charge that I didn't request nor was I told about. If you use this company, DO NOT FALL for their BAIT & SWITCH scheme of signing up for the "Comfort Club" because it could cost you more in the long run. When I spoke the receptionists I was informed that "this never happens" but after reading some of the posts on here, they do this all the time. JUST BEWARE!!! This is the first time I've ever had to write a review but wanted to make sure nobody else fell for this scam! It's my fault for not asking more questions but just know that if it's too good to be true then you will be right with this company because they will rip you off if they can. read more
