I transferred the patient from wheelchair to recliner however, I needed assistance from staff to help me re-position. The staff came to the room, told patient to stand up and use the walker and position herself on the recliner. The staff was very rude and hesitant to help, stated I had to do everything for the patient and left.

Clients complain of frequent theft, families who have abandoned them. They feel that management doesn't listen to older folk. The owners of this conglomerate should try staying there themselves for just desserts for a few months

All the owner wants to do is help people get back on track and live a happy life without drugs and alcohol. the house is not the nicest or cleanest, but you have to keep in mind you are living with 12 guys who are mostly in the early stages of recovery. i didnt have a car when i lived here and sometimes had to take the bus. it is about a half mile down the road from a Murfreesboro bus stop which was a big help at times. attending meetings are required in order to stay at this house. i belive it was 5 meetings a week, some people with cars at the house helped me get there. this place will teach you structure and the little things that make a big difference in life. all in all, i recommend gratis living to a person in early recovery, i am not the type to write reviews online, but i feel like this may help somebody as it did for me. Personally, I wouldn't be able to stay here due to my food allergies, as they don't seem to cater to such dietary restrictions. I have complained to the management about staff being 45 minutes late giving her pain medication on numerous occasions. It's always a different excuse. The person with the key to the medicine cabinet is on break. They didn't know they should wake her to give her medicine. It's shift change, and no one was available. The pharmacy forgot to order more medicine, and they're out. She's repeatedly forced to use a bedpan because staff don't respond in time to help her to the bathroom. They bring her food but no utensils. It's something new every day, but the fact that they keep leaving her in pain without her medication is just cruel. Despite repeated promises, they continue to treat her poorly. As soon as the hospital bed and wheelchair ramp are delivered to my home, we're taking her out of there. It's awful!!

At the same time the existing North and South Towers were updated with carpeting, lighting and paint. What a great transformation. All the common areas are new. Amities include three restaurants, indoor pool, a state of the art fitness center (with three full time staff members) and a group fitness studio for fitness classes. There are many club activities; art, bridge, canasta, rummy cube, Mexican train, mahjong, history club plus more. Every Tuesday there is a happy hour with food and live entertainment provided by Blakeford. On Fridays there is a happy hour in the Living Room or on the patio, weather permitting. Then one Sunday a month we have a Social Hour 5p to 6p where new residents mingle and meet current residents. You need to visit Blakeford and take a tour. Make sure you see Vista, the 7th floor party room and outdoor patio - - it has a view no other senior communities have. Mary and I have been asked why we chose Blakeford, and not one of the other senior living communities nearby. Most don't have Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing/Memory Care on one campus. But the final reasons are the residents and staff. The residents and staff members are the best

Today I had to deliver an order and I already knew where the place/room was but they had a lot of items (over 4 cases of soda) so I asked if they had a cart so I didn't need to make multiple trips. The white lady with blonde hair and greenish glasses at the front desk was very very rude and disrespectful towards me. She acted as if I was dumb and when I went to get the groceries from the car she didn't even give me a cart at all because she "couldn't find it" and I ended up taking all the groceries in by hand. I really hope she's not as disrespectful to the citizens living here as she was to me.

It's not that simple. TERRIBLE- I will take my money somewhere else and be sure to tell everyone I meet that this place is not only unprofessional but super dark and depressing inside. While there, it was my privilege to be under the prompt, compassionate, and attentive care of some hard working folks. My stay lasted for 3 full weeks and every day I was impressed with the warm and friendly people that are employed there and the quality of friendly helpful care I received. The backbone of such a facility is of course the Nurse Techs. Every Nurse Tech that cared for me was without a doubt exceptional in professionalism and compassion. Always responsive to my needs and in good response times as well, makes the Nurse Techs at the Gallatin Center a cut above most other nursing facilities in my book. The Nurses also displayed prompt patient care, timely dispensing of medications, and a willingness to jump in and help with any other patient issues or concerns. During my 3 week stay, I was able to observe the attitudes and patient involvements of many of the staff and employees of GCR. I'm happy and proud to report the stellar patient care and attention was above and beyond the call of duty in every area I witnessed. Some of the staff members are sometimes short tempered probably as a result of not having enough help. The cleaning crew often doesn't show up and clean the patients rooms. Even when they do straighten the rooms, they usually don't sweep and mop the floors. Rooms look like they need to be painted. The inside of this beautiful facility looks like it has been neglected and let go. It's unfortunate that it is in this kind of shape. Most of the residences here are long-term and I feel bad for them. Unfortunately, the staff is overworked and apparently under appreciated. Otherwise Gallatin Center probably would not be understaffed. I personally think that the staff here probably needs a raise for how understaffed and overworked they are. Thanks again, Karen Harrison
