Once I chose not to move forward, communication stopped entirely. I wasn't able to get any response from the artist or the studio, and this also affected a family member who needed follow‑up work and couldn't get assistance either. For someone I had trusted with multiple pieces, this was extremely frustrating. I reached out to management hoping to talk through what happened, but they declined to schedule even a short call. After being a loyal client of the artist, that response was disappointing and honestly surprising. Overall, this experience showed me that this artist may not be the best fit for clients who expect clear communication, transparency, and follow‑through. If you decide to work with them, I strongly recommend avoiding paying for anything in advance unless every detail is clearly discussed and agreed on.

Most places I've reached out to are by appointment only, and are booked out months in advance. Or, their books are closed and only re-open a handful of times a year or once a month. So when we walked into Lonely Hearts Club Tattoo, we weren't expecting that we would be able to get tattooed right then and there - but we were! Chuck & Berrett did an awesome job. We had a simple design that we wanted (numbers in Old English font), I showed them a reference picture, they drew it up quickly, tattooed us quickly, and we were in and out of there in maybe 45 minutes tops? By the looks of their shop and their Instagrams, they specialize in the traditional tattoo styles - bright colors, minimal shading, fonts, etc. Super clean shop, very professional experience, located right in the heart of downtown. We weren't originally anticipating on getting a tattoo that night, but it was a tattoo that was very meaningful to us, that we had talked about for a long time, and it felt right in that moment to finally get it. I'm so glad they accepted walk ins on the day we visited. They put a second skin on our tattoos, we left it on for the recommended 3-5 days, and both of our tattoos have healed beautifully. However, they can do a lot of different work, so don't feel limited by that. All of my pieces have been wonderful pieces of art I cherish. They are friendly and welcoming, so if you're new to the tattoo game, don't be intimidated. They'll take good care of you. My oldest tattoos from them are going back several years now, and all of them have aged well. Really love these guys and can't recommend them enough.

Shortly after booking, I had to cancel due to medical concerns (keloid scarring risk) and military obligations that prevent me from moving forward with a tattoo. I canceled immediately. No design work was started, no appointment time was used, and I never had any communication with the assigned artist. Despite this, the studio refused to refund the deposit and instead pushed store credit. When I tried to resolve this respectfully, I was met with dismissive responses and told things like "this isn't my first rodeo," along with pressure to drop my dispute before they would continue communication. The deposit is labeled as an "artist design fee," but no design work was ever done. Enforcing a strict no-refund policy in a situation where no services were provided feels extremely one-sided and unprofessional. Overall, this experience felt more like pressure and policy enforcement than actual customer service. I would strongly recommend being cautious before leaving a deposit here or trusting their booking process-especially when dealing with Robert the manager
