I wholeheartedly recommend OnePlus Chinese as a preschool, not just a Chinese immersion experience! The school is not run in a bootcamp and memorization-based style, as I feared since Chinese programs can operate that way from historic influence. OnePlus' activity programming is holistic and engaging, ranging from arts crafting to science experiments. From my toddler's experience, it seems that children are given space and also can influence the course of the day with their preferences. My toddler loves the school and has not only grown in their Chinese skills, but also in their confidence and social skills. I love that there is such a consistency and lack of turnover in the teachers too, which has greatly helped my toddler's comfort. We have been sending our kids to One Plus for a few years now. The teachers go above and beyond, my kids have learned to be independent and improved their social skills. They learn so much from the various activities and crafts they provide. They have been so flexible with our needs, and always communicate important updates. The kids are always excited to go and some days they don't want to be picked up. The exposure to the Chinese culture and language has been very valuable to us. We put our son (2-3 yr old) into the ONE PLUS Chinese Learning Center around the time they just opened in 2019, and the teachers came through great referrals, word of mouth and recommendations. It's an experienced staff. We attended their open house event and I garnered a good feeling upon meeting the staff and facilities in person. We've toured and talked to other Chinese Immersion Pre-Schools in the South Bay, some were a bit stoic, rigid and strict feeling, whereas with ONE PLUS, we felt a sense of humanity, emotional love and caring by the staff, combined with an expertise in child development. Our experiences with the staff has been great over the course of the past nearly 1/2 year, and the other students add to a pleasant experience. We're into longterm focused relationships, and hope to have our son continue onward as long as he's benefiting and it makes sense for us. The teacher, Stephanie is very caring and considerate. She's also very proactively motivating in wanting to help the children learn and grow, so it's not simply daycare babysitting, but there's a tangible curriculum that includes play, arts & crafts, music, movement and education. She's become an integral part of our "Potty Training" for our son too. We enjoy Jeanie, Yogi, Nicole and the rest of the staff as well. They're compassionate educators. We don't speak Mandarin, as our native dialect is Cantonese as well as English, but that poses no problems in our child's understanding and development at ONE PLUS. Our son officially knows more Mandarin than I do now, thanks to ONE PLUS! They offer 1/2 day's, and Full day's as well as other flexible hours for drop-off/pick-up and also I believe an afternoon focused Tutoring session as well as Summer Camps. They don't have a formal Spring Break, so when and where most pre-schools shut down, ONE PLUS doesn't, which is a strategic advantage and convenience for parents. It's worth considering for your child, and at minimum if you're considering a Chinese Immersion pre-school or afternoon after-school program, it's worth touring the facility to see if this is right for you and your child. There is a private parking lot, although there's only 3 spaces and the rest are assigned to the adjacent businesses, but there's also street parking along Artesia Blvd., so if you're willing to walk a little bit at times, it's easy to do drop-off's and pick-up's. read more

I'm so happy to share my experience here at One Plus. I've known Director Ms. Yogi and best teacher ever Ms. Nicole since my son was 2 years old. They are so thrust worthy and their heart is in the right place toward kids. I feel so safe that my son is in good hand with them. My husband and I don't speak Chinese at all but my son (4.5) can speak and write in Mandarin now. We both have full-time job so we use to put our son to after school daycare which they just play. But, I'm so fortunate to send my son to the afterschool program here. Teachers here make the learning so FUN and stimulate them with lots of activities to learn. They truly make learning language excited by doing lots of art and craft, singing/dancing, science, calligraphy and more. My son just loves it so much and that makes me so happy as well. They have an amazing summer camp program, preschool and more. I have a hard time to get him out the door when I pick him up. Go visit for a trial class, so worth it! This is one of the few places I like to put my boys (4 and 6) for day camps when their public school is closed for holidays. I feel very at ease and I don't worry when they are here. I know they will learn and my money will have been well spent. I really like that the school will split kids up into different ability groups so that they can learn things interesting and relevant to them. E.g. someone who is already fluent in Chinese will not be learning how to say 'How are you?' and someone who would need to start at the basic level would be learning relevant items. Learning is fun and teachers are nurturing. I also really appreciate that it is true immersion. My boys are in the Mandarin proficient group. I am very grateful that my boys can be with teacher Nicole during day camps. She is fun yet has high expectations including insisting that my boys speak Mandarin at the camp. Every time I pick up my boys after day camp, I feel they have learnt more. Yogi also has many great ideas and methods to help different kids with different learning styles learn. read more

My 2 year old son goes to One Plus for Preschool. He loves going to school everyday. He learned a lot and has improved tremendously, especially with taking naps. Ms. Nicole and Ms. Yogi really cares about the children at school. They always keep me updated about my son's progress in school, which I love and appreciate. That really means a lot to me. They have a preschool based learning program for kids 18mo+ where I put my little one in when he turned 19mo. What I'm surprised is that, he did not cry even for a single day. It is unbelievable! That is definitely not easy for a kid first time in daycare/school. He got so easy to the new environment, new friends. All teachers are super nice and professional, there're so much fun. I really appreciate the teachers help with his transition. Every morning, Ms Nicole or Yiran or Xiaoting hugs and holds him, then he says bye-bye to me. Till now it's been 2 months, and I can feel his growth. He always speaks to me the words he learnt, the skills he got. I feel really lucky find this place and I highly recommend this one to all my friends who live nearby and have kids need mandarin learning and especially need loving and caring teachers. The funny part is, there's one morning that I went out walking my dog, my boy thought I will be leaving and no class today, he yelled at my back and tried to remind me "mama, keke", which I know is "class" in mandarin. One Plus Chinese is an absolutely incredible school. From day one, the staff made my young daughter feel like part of the family. They are unbelievably caring and always go the extra mile. My daughter always comes home from school beaming and so excited to tell me what she got up to. In fact she hates the weekends, because she misses One Plus. Our son has attended the One Plus Chinese Learning Center for almost 2 years. The leadership, teachers and staff are phenomenal!! Not only has our son's fluency in Mandarin increased dramatically, One Plus is an amazingly nurturing environment that has fostered a love of learning in our son so great, he now watches his favorite shows in Mandarin. For the past five months his classes have been by distance learning only and one on one tutoring. The staff have gone above and beyond to make it fun and engaging and our son loves his classes (three days each week). We are so grateful for the wonderful teachers and staff!! My 2 year old has been attending the morning preschool program since December. She loves it and it shows by her being so happy at drop off and never wanting to leave at pick up. Her teachers are wonderful, loving, and caring. She comes home with different arts and crafts. I love that the teachers send me videos and pictures of her activities everyday. I believe after attending One Plus for a month she came home one day and said xie xie to me after I placed her cup in front of her. I know it's not much, but we don't speak Mandarin at home and her only exposure is at school. It was so cute. I can't wait until she starts speaking more. The teachers teach her through play and interaction. There is a small play area in the back. They go on mini-field trips. There is a lot of fun activities for them. The school is in the process of potty training her as well. I would and do recommend One Plus Chinese to many parents as I have seen my daughter grow so much. My 5 year daughter attends the after-school program. She loves attending the science and cultural theme days. This school immerses the children in the language and the culture through fun interactive activities. My daughter can speak, read and write. She learns so much and wishes she could attend everyday. Nicole is her main teacher and she is wonderful! I can't say enough good things about her and her teaching style. She has helped my daughter grow to be respectful and loving but most importantly to love learning Mandarin. Ms. Yogi, the Director is wonderful and she cares so much about the children. She is constantly looking at new innovative teaching techniques and styles. She is responsive and very helpful whenever I needed additional information. Ms. Yogi and Ms. Nicole are the 2 main reasons I had no problem sending my 2 year old to them for the preschool program. I trust them and know my children will be cared for and learn. read more
