Needed a last minute one day van rental. Shopped around with the usual corporates and wow! Buku bucks! Checked out One's rates and they were much more reasonable. This review is specifically for the Ala Moana location. Their office is located in the lobby of the Ala Moana Hotel. They seem to be an all Japanese staff. Very courteous, and very accommodating. Easy pick up and return. Their cars are on the lower level of Ala Moana Center. They will escort you to the car when you pick up. At drop off, park at the designated parking spots, take the keys to the office and they will check the car out while you wait in the office. Definitely using them again! read more

I'm hesitant to give this place a five star review because it's such a great deal that I feel like I need to keep on the down low. Haha! Seriously though, during a trip to Oahu for a few days in July 2021, Amy T. and I were having a tough time finding affordable car rental spots. We even initially reached out to One's via e-mail, who notified us that their cars were not available during the three day span that we needed them. However, after calling to confirm, we were able to rent a compact car for two days, and a full size car for the third day on separate reservations. Not only did we get the reservation via phone, but when we arrived, we were upgraded to a mid-size for the first two days b/c another reservation was cancelled. We loved the Toyota Corolla (mid-size) and Toyota Camry (full-size), and it was very affordable - only $60/day for the compact and $72 for the full-size. There was also a free parking area for One's Rental Cars a few blocks (7 min walk) from the Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel (where One's is housed inside). The parking lot is open from 8am-7pm, so you can only access it during those hours, but if you want to avoid high parking fees around Waikiki and plan to spend the evening walking around anyway, take advantage of that! read more

Originally we were gonna rent a car from a big company for $160/day. Once our plan was finalized, the rate went up to $300/day just before Spring break. I searched Yelp and found this hidden gem. Initially I requested a compact size car for $40/day which seems unreal (my wife was very skeptical). I called them and asked if the car size is too small to fit our luggage, can I change to a mid-size? They said no, because they are driving the car on my reservation to the airport office, and their main fleet is in Waikiki. So I changed my reservation to $45/day Mid-size. When I arrived the baggage claim, Shio was there waiting with my name on a board. Once we collected all our luggage, he took us to a van where the driver was waiting for us. The driver was telling us stories about big rental car company are being investigated because they jacked the price to $1000/day for Spring break! Wow, I guess we are super lucky to find One's. Upon arriving their airport office, Kazumi helped us with the paperwork. Mid-size white Toyota looks good, we connect our phone with the Bluetooth in car and enjoyed our driving around the island. For them to send people and cars to airport office is actually a hassle for them. (they sent 3 people, my reserved car and a van, to their airport office) If your hotel is in Waikiki, you should book the airport pickup on the website first, in order to enter flight information, and call them to clarify your hotel is in Waikiki, and arrange the airport pickup to go directly to their Waikiki office. (make sure the airport pickup and drop-off is still free when you call) The price on their website already includes all taxes and fees, no hidden charges, and airport pickup/drop-off was free. These guys are flexible and easy to use. If you're staying in Waikiki they're in a convenient location and include free parking which is a huge benefit. Renting the vehicle was the quickest and easiest I've ever experienced. Unlike traditional rental agencies were you first wait in a long line and then stand there for what seems like an hour while they endlessly type info into their computer just to rent a car. At One's the paperwork was simple, quick and the entire transaction was done in about 5 minutes. The cars are not brand new but I don't care as long they are in safe working condition which they are. Lied to my face about the price of the car. Also insisted that I needed my policy number for my own insurance to cover the car. Yeah like I have that 3000 miles away from my home. Would not accept the coverage that my credit card gives for a rental car either so I had to pay the extra 20 bucks. Car was fine a little beat ran fine brakes were a little squirrely but it got us to and from where we needed to be. Returned our car in plenty of time got it back at 6:30 when you're supposed to have it back by 7:00. Lied to us again there is no shuttle service back to the car rental place after 6:30. From what I've heard, it's better than most car rental spots in Waikiki. If so, dayum.. lol. They never received our reservation via online, so we had to change our plans to another day which was frustrating. The staff seemed stressed, over-worked and not so friendly. There were a lot of "smart" comments when we had questions or didn't understand something. When we returned the car, there was a line going down the street of other renters. It caused a lot of traffic and chaos but made the check out process fast as they were trying to get everyone in and out. The only pro(s)... they had different options and prices weren't too bad. This is not your typical car rental place. During these months of early summer 2021, the tourist rush has resulted in a shortage of rental cars in Hawaii, and so people are just glad to get a car, any car. Especially one prices so low. But just be aware, this is not your typical car rental place. The cars are older, and have higher mileage than what you would normally see at a car rental place. But they are reasonably clean and they work well. They only take calls from 8am to 7pm, and there is no late night drop off or early pickup. The plus side is that renting is exceedingly easy. I didn't even have to write down my home address. It's a simple form, some signatures, and they see my license. No waiting for 10 minutes at the counter while the attendant nags away at the keyboard looking like they are writing a novel. We were in and out in like 5 minutes. They were also very flexible: we were looking for a van, but they only had a mid size. Anothet person came to pickup the van they reserved, but only needed a smaller car, so the attendant got them to swap for the mid size car, which cost less. Everyone drove away happy. The only place we could find a car while we were in Waikiki that was reasonably priced. They are a small little office within a hotel and have a limited amount of cars available. We rented from them twice, the first car was $72 & the other was $65. I guess they base pricing on the car itself they rent. The cars were clean and reliable. MAKE SURE you fill up the tank yourself! We were rushing to take back the car the same day and had them fill it up at $28 dollars when we used about a quarter. The next time we filled up it cost about $6 ourselves and retuned it. Also know, whatever time you pick up is not the time you drop off. Drop off is at 8am, no matter if you picked up at 1pm. Nice rental place, fair prices and easy transactions. Would recommend and use again if we were to return to Honolulu. read more

I wish I could give this place more than just 5 stars! The rental car situation here in Hawaii is ridiculously expensive right now because of covid. We researched many other companies, but One's definitely has every other company beat. My family rented two cars for one week here on Oahu. Only $325 each for the entire week! The pickup process was very smooth, Kamuzi met us in the baggage claim at HNL and helped us with our luggage. There was another employee waiting curbside with the van which took us to their office (about 10 mins away). Rented ​the car from the airport location in January. They picked us up at baggage claim and took us direct to the rental car office. Very quick and easy process, no lines and no upselling of insurance. Car was older and high mileage but ran well and was very clean. Dropping the car off was simple. Left ​luggage in the car and they used the car to drive us to the airport, no lines no wait no issues.
