In a perfect world, none of us would ever deal with car accidents. But in a city like New Orleans, they're often an unavoidable reality. When it happened to me, Alex and his talented team made my vehicle look good as new--maybe even better. The service was exactly what was promised. Pricing was more than fair, with no hidden fees or surprise add-ons--just honest work at a fair cost. And the timing was spot-on. My car was ready exactly when they said it would be, just like when they repaired our Jeep Renegade three years ago. The quality of workmanship speaks for itself. Alex never judged me for wanting to repair my 2019 Ford Fiesta rather than let insurance total it. I love that car--it has barely 50,000 miles and gets 42 mpg on the interstate--and Alex understood that connection. To top it all off, they returned the car cleaned from top to bottom. So I decided to go it alone and chose A Vargas. I pull in and ask for an estimate. Instead Alex says the bumper is just loose (no damage) and everything looks fine. He then snaps it back it place. Problem solved. Alex wouldn't accept a payment! He said "it was easy" and I told him it was his expertise and availability to quickly help me that was worth money. Finally I just put some cash in his shirt pocket, waved goodbye and walked away with both of us smiling. I can't image a more trustworthy, professional, and knowledgeable body shop. Don't let the location or the cluttered appearance of the shop stop you. This is a great business.

He allowed me to order my own parts from eBay and bring it in! I love that I can shop for my own parts and bring it in. It took his team about 20 mins to change the motor! Hourly rate i believe minimally is $50/hr. Whereas other places didn't allow me to bring my part in and charged me ridiculous labor cost. I'm sooo glad we found a place we can trust with our vehicles. Next time you need a body shop, try giving Edward a call! He's super nice!

My story: It is the law in Louisiana that any vehicle in a wreck is automatically required to be deemed totaled if the estimated cost of repair materials and labor equals or exceeds 75% of the car's Actual Cash Value. Collision XPerts ABSOLUTELY lowballed my estimate to keep it from being deemed totaled. Because of course...if the car is deemed totaled, Collision XPerts loses out on business! Thus, they lowball the estimate AND use cheaper, aftermarket non-factory parts on your car, which can actually void the warranty on many newer cars. I knew my car was going to be totaled, I just needed them to sign off on it. When they lowballed me to keep it under the 75% threshhold, they didn't expect I would have done enough research to know that they were full of shit. When I told them I was having my car towed somewhere more reputable, they tried their best to make that very, very difficult for me and I had to threaten them with legal action to get the keys to my own car back. One other note of concern that anyone consider it should know: this repair shop does not use protective crash wrap on cars, even when the car's damage renders a door or window being cracked open until it's repaired. My car's door couldn't fully close after its accident and it was sitting outside for DAYS, along with every other damaged car, with zero Crash Wrap and a well-publicized tropical storm just dumping buckets of rain into the cars. Will Collision XPerts do a decent enough job on your crappy old Nissan Sentra after it gets in a fender bender? Probably, sure. Go for it. But if you have a more expensive car, or if you're wondering if your car is totaled or not, they absolutely will be shady. And if you call them out on it, they will get more standoffish and try to coerce you out of taking your car elsewhere. Attached is a photo of a car which was just fully getting rained in because its door couldn't close and they don't use Crash Wrap. Avoid this place at all costs. SPECIAL NOTE TO THOSE INSURED WITH PROGRESSIVE: there's a reason that Progressive has Collision XPerts listed as one of their partners, and why they try to steer you to have your car towed here instead of anywhere else: because they know Collision XPerts will lowball your estimate to avoid the car legally being deemed totaled, thus saving Progressive money on your payout. In Louisiana you are legally allowed to have your car towed to ANY repair shop, not just the ones that insurance companies partner with.

My car was in their shop in Metairie from January 2024 till end of September 2024. I show my car at Cruisin the Coast annual car show in October and informed them I would need the car back by mid-September. I received a decent price quote from this shop and was told it was because of the length of time I was willing to wait for my vehicle. Both the painter and owner/manager said my car would be ready way before October. It turned out to be a real nightmare. In my opinion, my car will never be the same. My full story below. Well here goes, the work was terribly done and not completed, the length of time promised was much longer than promised, the staff are very rude (foul language used in threatening manner) and treat customers horribly, poor management skills seems to be one of their biggest issues so, don't expect help from Oscar the owner/manager. It got to the point where I considered calling the police on the painter who seems to have many issues going on and feels the need to threaten customers who are not satisfied with the work done or lack there of. It is my opinion that management lets their only painter get away with poor treatment of customers because they are short handed and he was the only one doing the painting. The painter complained about his job and bosses the entire time my vehicle was there. He kept pushing up the date my car would be ready up while working on other cars that were brought in later than mine. I truly believe that they work on the cars that come in from insurance companies they are possibly contracted with and/or get referrals from before private paying customers. If you want good customer service, your vehicle taken care of, painted and put together correctly then my opinion is, don't take it here. Do your research first. You will see other similar reviews for this company. I made my mistake by not reading the reviews first. The owner/manager is no help at all when customers have a problem because they have only one painter now (painter's helper got into argument with painter and quit while my car was in shop) and it seems the owner doesn't want to do the work himself to make his customers happy. I ended up taking my car without the work being completed because I was afraid the painter and others there would damage it further. Customer satisfaction, quality work and value for your dollar are definitely not priorities at Color Tech in Metairie.
