Go to another collision center and if you don't you will wish you had...Was promised weekly updates about when my car would be ready or any problems that may exist ... ha.... I call again..lit will be ready Im hoping Friday"... no call... I call again and the manager starts blaming another local company that the parts delivered were incorrect. Poor customer servjce . They used my car wheel locks tool-left it unorganized on passenger seat , left dirty used towel in my vehicle . Hand me the key without walk thru to see everything okay . Receptionist people not very friendly make me afraid to go back to their office to tell them they left dirty smelly towel in my car . Now I'm having problems with my door lock . Gabriel no longer performs quality work, I brought my Bentley to Gabriel to repair the leather on the drivers seat. The worker assigned, spray painted inside the vehicle (this after taking the drivers seat out) leaving paint where it should not be, on the interior of my vehicle. When taking the drivers seat out or putting it back, the seat (weighing approximately 600 pounds) was dropped on the door scuff plate, leaving three dents. Additionally, the repair performed on the leather of the drivers seat, lasted 5 months, before it cracked worse than before it was repaired. When I informed Gabriel of the items noted above, he did not really care to listen, although he stated they would attempt to repair the repair! I told him I was not interested in having my vehicle damaged again, the cost to fix everything properly was $800.00, in addition to the $600.00 I paid Gabriel! read more

This review is 8 months in the making. Early December 2022, I initially brought my car to them as a referral from my previous insurance provider. I was told my car would be ready in about two weeks depending on part availability. That was perfect because I was going out of town in that amount of time. I should have it back before I left. They kept giving me the run around when I would call saying that things were delayed and that I needed to basically be a mediator for my insurance. However, I will say that they advised me to get a repair for damage that I didn't know about from a previous owner for it to be a 100% fix. My insurance declined to give any extra money to fix that underlying problem. It was nice that they let me know, but they took extra time that I didn't have by making me relay information back to my insurance when they could just call them. Fast forward to middle of January 2023. (They've had my car for about a month and a half at this point... All I needed was a bumper and under skirting.) My car is finally ready and one day over my max coverage for a rental car from my insurance. I get dinged an extra $700 because of their slowness in fixing the vehicle. My car is fixed and I had to remind THEM that I had a 0 dollar deductible when they tried to hand be a bill. After that was situated, I left with my car. Late August 2023. On the way back from a work trip, my repair fails. I lost some under skirting and the fender liner of my car why driving back home. I contact them that following Monday asking for them to fix it per their Warranty. They have a *limited* lifetime warranty on labor and a 1 year warranty on parts. They argued that the repair that they did was sound and that it did it's job. It was going to be a new incident in which I'd have to pay for out of pocket. WHAT'S THE POINT OF THE WARRANTY IF YOU DON'T HONOR IT???!!! You guys fixed it, the repair that YOU GUYS DID failed WITHIN the timeframe that was discussed earlier and because it's not convenient for the business, you're just not going to honor it?? What are we doing right now? What is happening? They said to me that due to the scratches to the underside of the bumper, they have deduced that it's my fault that it fell off. Repeated abrasion had jostled loose some things causing it to become dislodged. My old original bumper and under skirting had the same stuff on it along with the damage from the previous owner and it still didn't come off until some road debris hit my car, destroying the bumper. That's normal driving ware and tear. Most passenger style cars like mine, will have those scratches on the underside of the bumper due to entering/exiting driveways, parking in parking lots with the park curbs in them, and just driving in the city. The car was fine since it came off the lot in 2013. 10 years vs. 8 months is a very big difference. The repair failed and from my knowledge, people repair things so that they stay fixed. The goal is to permanently fix it and not have be okay for a couple of months. He said he can see if I came back after a week and it fell off. It would be more obvious that the repair failed. How long have you been a mechanic?? That doesn't even sound right. A good repair last way longer than just 8 months to a year. I'm never coming back because you guys don't stand by your warranty when it affects the bottom line of the business. You're not customer focused or use logic in any form. read more

After seeing so many negative reviews, I felt like I had to share my positive experiences I have had here. I had my car repaired here twice, when my car was hit by other drivers. My dentist had recommended this place to me, so I felt confident to take my car here. I was lucky that the other drivers had Geico car insurance and it covered my repairs and the rental car. I had my car repaired at a different shop before that loved keeping my car at the shop with no updates on my car AND would not answer my phone calls. I had to wait 1-2 weeks for parts to come in while my car was in their shop, before they could even get started with my car. I didn't understand why I had to leave my car there and waste time with a rental car. The employees at California Customs were very nice and accommodating. The estimators showed me what exactly I needed for my car and tried to keep the repair costs as low as possible. They informed me of any possible hiccups that may keep my car in the shop longer than expected and gave me very realistic estimates. I never had any issues here with the whole repair process and they made sure everything was done correctly in the quickest way possible! I always worry about repair shops using cheap parts to repair my car, but they used all OEM parts to repair my car. All of their work was done perfectly and I had no problems with their work. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for anyone to get their cars fixed! They keep you well informed and get the job done right! read more

And on the date where my vehicle was ready I arrived at the business to pick up my vehicle and it still wasn't ready. I had to wait 20-30 minutes cause they forgot to install a part on my car. No same day estimate and if you do get an estimate they charge $60 for it which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard off when every other body shop will give you one for free! Not sure how which way to go because I let them get me twice. Sloppy with the tape and paint the first time but after some reluctance they corrected problem. Decided to try again, I mean it's a big shop on westbank so they must be good right? Didn't think it would happen again. Different car same results. I was wondering why cars kept flashing their lights at me. Cause they thought my brights were on. Installed lights upside down. I was going to fix it myself then I saw the paint runs. On recommendation from a friend, I took my 1966 Pontiac Catalina for an estimate on a front fender repair, and was turned away, flat. Reasons given were flimsy: "old cars are hard to fix, screws and clips can be rusty" (too much to handle for a decent body shop?) Something about "...then the alternator goes out and it's our fault!" It's pure BS and I told them so. I have a beautiful well-maintained classic. There are plenty of body shops around that actually appreciate working on a car with real metal fenders. I would not recommend this shop to anyone who needs quality work on a classic car. read more

California customs loves to push back dates, and run you around until they feel like finishing your car. My car has been delayed for several weeks now and this is a minor fix. If I knew it was going to take this long I would have fixed my own car. If you want your car done timely, California customs is definitely not the place. I went to California Customs and was 100% satisfied. I have an older Acura MDX that had some paint peeling from the front of the roof. I called first to explain the issue and spoke to Tom, who invited me in to see the car first hand. I brought it it, and one of their techs came out, explained what he thought the estimate would be, but said they never confirm that until they see the overall amount of work needed. He called within 2 hours of my dropping off the car and confirmed that amount - in fact it was a little lower. When I came to pick up the car 2 days later it looked fantastic. Further, they washed my car and cleaned the interior! Every person in the process (Kim, James, Tom) were great to work with. I'd recommend them anyone needing auto body work. read more

I was sent here by Geico after someone backed into my car in New Orleans. They did a great job on the repair (including paint) and I got my car back cleaner than before. The claim process through them and Geico was pretty seamless. Great customer service. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that it took them a couple days longer than they originally said to finish my car, but this is probably attributable to a post-holiday rush. Stay away! These guys claim to be better than they actually are. Between me and my insurance company they got paid OVER $10,000 to fix my car and they couldn't even take the time to clean up after themselves much less detail my car (which they told me they did). The paint job was crappy (had dirt in the clear coat). They never updated me about my car not being ready, I showed up once and called the second time just to have them tell me it wont be ready for thee more weeks. The worst part was when I pointed out the flaws in their workmanship they weren't even remotely apologetic about it, didn't offer to address it much less do anything about it. when I walked in the first thing they told me was "you have a balance you need to pay" I had to ask to see my car first and it was like the end of the world. Money is all they care about so I ended up just leaving. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR INSURANCE WORK MUCH LESS HIGH END WORK. Stay away! After a minor accident, my car was brought to this body shop as recommended by the liable party's insurance co. It is an older car that the ins.co. wanted to total out...I disagreed, so it took a month to come to a settlement in which I retained my car and had it sent to the body shop of my choice. Upon examination of my car when it arrived at my shop, it was more damaged due to California Customs that it had been in the accident. The front bumper had only cosmetic damage, but CC decided to cut off the bumper rather than properly dismantling it requiring that it be completely replaced. When I contacted CC about the damage they caused, I was told that I signed the repair agreement and they were not required to be gentle with my car. I was yelled at. I was told by CC it was the only way to access the damage and when they found more damage resulting in the car being totaled it didn't matter anymore. I explained that had they not found damage, I would have settled with the ins co. and then I would get to choose the extent of repairs and may not have wanted to do anything with the cosmetic damage. Again that didn't matter. . The man I spoke to was condescending, told me they were not responsible - would not pay to replace my bumper and that I had an "attitude." Lovey way to treat customers. The real kicker, he said "do you know how hard it is to remove a bumper?"...hummm. I thought that was your job. I should have checked the review before I agreed to have it brought to this place. This is the first accident I have had in more than 35 yrs, so maybe I was just naive thinking that the other guy's ins. would take care of things properly and recommend a reputable body shop. Run away from this place fast!!! The building looks fancy but they do shoddy work. I brought my vehicle in there after it was hit. I was hit in the back. The trunk started leaking. Honestly, I cant say that I remember exactly when the trunk started leaking but it wasn't until after they "repaired" it. They give a lifetime warranty but trust and believe that they are going to find every way possible to back out of it. First they tried to tell me that the car was declared a total loss so that's why the trunk was leaking. Really???? Now I took another car there that was declared a total loss maybe a year earlier but the car that's there now IS NOT. And if the car you're looking at now was declared a total loss you know darn well you would've done more to repair it than the $1600 receipt says because you are expensive!!! Nice try though. So after they weren't able to wiggle out of the "lifetime warranty" that way they told me that the car was hit before I owned it. Hold on, now that I remember, they first suggested that it was damaged after they made their repairs. To which I say well that's impossible because that was the last wreck I was in. Then they proceeded to say that it was maybe hit before I owned it. Funny thing that if it was hit before I owned it, I had never experienced the trunk leaking before you touched it. I guess I should have contacted the previous owner to find out who fixed it then. Bottom Line is this, THE TRUNK WASN'T LEAKING BEFORE YOU "REPAIRED" IT. NOW YOU'RE TRYING TO BACK OUT OF THE LIFETIME WARRANTY. They had no intention of honoring the Lifetime Warranty. I believe their plan was to bounce around until they found an excuse they were happy with. The only restitution they offered was to have my husband come by and look at the damage. At this point I'm like ok wow yea let me come pick up my vehicle ... CHECK THEM OUT WITH THE BBB, OH THAT'S RIGHT THEY'RE NOT BBB ACCREDITED. read more
