One tree has quickly become a part of my daily routine since my first visit. I greatly appreciate the variety of classes formats, instructors, time slots, and intensity of practices. Every instructor brings something unique and offers both modifications and challenges. I have noticed a huge difference both physically and mentally from consistent hot yoga at One Tree! Updating my review because they are amazing! I had already reviewed at 5 stars when I started going there a year ago, but the experience has gotten even better. I go around 4-6 times a week now for hot yoga classes and have taken the majority of their instructors so far. I have never been disappointed by any of them. The studio is exceptionally clean all the time, supplies fully stocked in the bathroom, and instructors are friendly. Each instructor truly has their own style and will challenge you in different ways, so your best bet is to try multiple instructors and see what you like most! They have yoga mats for rental if needed, two showers, a ton of props like blocks, pads, and straps, and even a cute little store area with mugs, shirts, crystals, etc. I have tried three other yoga studios between Clinton, Davenport, and DeWitt and none have lived up to One Tree, especially in the instructor knowledge aspect. My practice has come so far in just a year because the instructors here really pay attention and assist when needed in polite ways. Almost all of them also do a really great job at describing the poses as well so it's easy to feel comfortable even if you're just beginning. read more

First place that I have tried hot yoga and I would not go anywhere else. All the instructors are great. Each present a different challenge. They provide free hand towels for your practice. At the end of the practice they place nice cold washcloths over your forehead, scented with essential oils. There are many classes and packages to fit everyone's needs. Give it a try! Your first class is free! They also have yoga for children. They also offer yoga in the park, which is a free yoga practice during the warm summer months at Vandeveer Park. I have never been good about sticking to a fitness routine, but upon joining One Tree Hot Yoga I knew that was going to change!! I have been a member for over a year and while I am not swimsuit model material, I am much more fit and in better shape than I have ever been. I like the variety of classes and instructors. I joke that they know my name and call me out in class, but I love it, that is the motivation I need. They know when I am ready to give up and they encourage me to go just a little more. I tried several studios prior to joining One Tree and this is by far the best. The class schedule allows me to attend at 5:30 am or 5:30 pm (and anywhere in between). The times that classes are offered works great for the busy lifestyles that we all have these days. The studio is friendly and inviting and newcomers are welcomed and encouraged to stay and become part of the yoga family. I have been attending classes for the past few weeks. I have had several different teachers and all have different styles. What they have in common is knowledge about Yoga. The classes are as how they are described. All the instructors have been very pleasant and personable. By far the worst yoga studio I have ever been to! Right when my friends and I walked in, the instructor was instantly short and rude with us. Not a welcoming or positive vibe whatsoever. Immediately following that, we went to the room to get our mats situated and we were approached by an instructor in training (she did NOT introduce herself as that - we figured that out later) walked up and told us to stop talking (we were WHISPERING and there were others TALKING which she did not approach and tell to stop talking) and interrupting meditation. The practice was not scheduled to start for almost 10 minutes. Then during the practice it was clear that the instructor was not in the right mindset because the entire class she would confuse sides, say "umm" when she would forget the name of a pose, and the practice in general had a bad flow. I work in the fitness industry, so I try to be very open and understanding, but this place was absolutely awful and I will NEVER go back. read more
