If you're in NYC this is a MUST see!!! I've been up here more than a 6 times and its awesome! The tickets are a little high priced but worth it. NO need to wait inline! You can buy your tickets on your phone and have the bar code / QR code in email. Every visit I've made the purchase on my phone and skipped the line to buy tickets. VIP tickets are useless as most times. It gets you through 5 mins quicker. Make sure you're all ready for security with nothing crazy on you. The elevator ride to the top is AWESOME. A time lapse over the history of NYC all in 35 seconds from when there were just trees, first buildings, Empire State Building, Twin Towers and then today! I would get your Iphone ready to record it. The presentation at the top is always fun. The MOST annoying part is when you leave the first video/viewing area where the employees nearly demand you stay for their IPAD demo they try and sell you. I've been up the tower several times and dont need to watch the same demo. The employees get nearly as demanding as the hustlers on the street! They then waste you time for a photo in front of a green screen with no option even suggest to skip it. If the management is ready this, this needs to be changed! Now for the awesome part...the VIEWS are AMAZING!!! I suggest come up 30mins to 1hr before dusk so you can see NYC in the day, sunset and night time! Awesome tour. Before going to One World Observatory be aware that this is an experience from start to finish and you should give yourself a couple of hours to appreciate and enjoy it. It is worth seeing at least once. From the moment you get through security you begin your experience. The elevator ride to the top is neat and worth recording, as it goes through the history of building New York City as we know it. From the top you can view Lady Liberty, Ellis Island, and the buildings of mid town. They will try to upgrade you to the IPad for $15, if you're interested in the architecture of New York it would likely be worth it, otherwise it's worth skipping. They laid the observatory out to sell you on everything. You literally can't get through to one part without someone asking you to rent an ipad, before entering another part you must walk through the cafe area, and to get to the restrooms you must walk through the souvenir shop, it's a genius layout for them to make money but otherwise annoying. The observatory is crisp and clean. The bathrooms were some of the cleanest I saw in New York. Having been there twice I wouldn't spend the money to go back a third time unless I was with someone who hadn't seen it and had the desire to. read more

great way to experience the skyline. I really like the pre-show and historical facts. Making the trip to the top very immersive really elevates (no pun intended) the view when you finally arrive. We also dined in the restaurant, and the service was impeccable. The food was actually really good. It doesn't have to be with that view, but it truly was. Incredible experience here!! I came here around mid morning on a Thursday right before the holiday and definitely recommend checking this place out. They start with an intro and the elevator ride that goes quite fast and is amazing with it's display and intro. Upon getting off you are on the 102nd floor and they try to sell iPad rentals that cost $15 which have more detailed info. I would pass on that because it is not really needed because the views are spectacular and they do have a tour guide that goes in detail on the 5 Burroughs and breaks everything down for those who sit in on while she explains it all. Overall, a great place that is symbolic and stunning for a wonderful experience in the city above the building of the *One World Trade Center* which replaced the original world trade center.. twin towers. read more

The Western Hemisphere if you need it broken down, think from the top of Canada to the very bottom of South America. Merica! The lines to get in? Long. In the summer, the winter, rain and snow, you're waiting. Once you're inside, you'll get whisked up to the most amazing views New York has to offer. It's a 360 degree view of New York, all inclosed from the elements. If you're from out of town, this is an amazing and interactive experience. They'll provide iPads (which I did not partake) which will show you the history of different buildings and bridges. If you're trying to immerse yourself in the history of NYC then the iPad is a must. This is the best observatory in New York City. It has the best view because of the height of the building. The elevator to me was another treat, showing dates how New York City developed over the years to how it stands today. New York City looks amazing from up top and you can see a full 360 view from there. I went at night and the night time view was amazing. The city at night from the One World Observatory looked impressive, something about the night that made it glow like no other. To get the ticket and go up it was a speedy process, there was absolutely no lines so we got up super fast. First when you go in they show you a short cool video about the city of New York. Then, you can enjoy the nice view. You can rent out an iPad and with the iPad you can see where things are located but that's an extra fee apart from the regular admission ticket. There is a café insane in which you can buy food and refreshments but since I went at night, it was closed. Amazing 360 views from the top! Buy tickets online in advance, preferably as early as possible in the morning to avoid long line or purchase priority ticket with VIP entrance to skip the long security line. So many things to do in NYC, it was worth for me to get this VIP entrance as we just walked right up. Elevator ride is so fast, get ready to record the ride up and down for visual effects. Upon arrival, they offer iPad with birds eye view of famous buildings. Normally $15 each or they were running special for $20 for two. This iPad is very educational with all kinds of facts, great way to learn history while looking at famous buildings. We actually had a ticket for Sunday but when we arrived, it was raining and no visibility from the top, they recommended to switch to the next day at no additional cost. Nice way to spend the day as a tourist in our own backyard. My family took a trip to see the city from new heights. We love the history and the self guided iPad tours to point out locations of buildings and neighborhoods. Don't blink during the elevator ride up or down! You'll miss the cool evolution of the city. This part was arguably one of the coolest aspects. As a family, we paid for priority lines and exits only to realize there wasn't a difference between non- priority and priority. It also isn't very stroller friendly. We often had to go to the staff/ delivery elevators to do the entire tour as we were avoiding escalators with our stroller. However, we still had a great time and would come back to try the restaurant one day. read more

Unbelievable view from the top -102nd floor baby! Worth the visit. The ticket price is not cheap- glad I was able to visit for free from a visiting family. The wait time was about half hour during our visit to the transit that brought us up. The observatory theme was perfect for the holiday- Winter Wonderland! I heard they changed it basing on the season. The escalator going up was the fastest I'd been, to think that it is on 106th floor level. The view upon the arrival on the very top was a delight, I guess everybody enjoyed how it was presented. Additional fee is required if you want to get an I-pad rental in order to get more information of the further views to see from each corner of the floor. The observatory has specialty programs that could participated in e.g photo booth, further exploration of the landmarks , etc. Nice café, restaurant and gift shop are located one plight down from the top. We purchased the "skip-the-line" tickets from Viator to do a 10:30 AM tour of the tower observatory. Didn't need it, it wasn't busy at all.... Observation deck was cool, and definitely gives you the feeling of being WAY up there.. The One World Trade Center Observatory is well built and provides a unique view of NYC with the typical tourist "gotchas" such as taking photos before entering the observatory area. I would recommend the Empire State Building over the One World Trade Center Observatory due to the aggressive and unprofessional nature of the 1 WTC staff. When entering the observatory at the top of the One World, the photographer directing people to take a photo for later purchase became aggressive and threatening after I refused to take a photo and requested to pass. When I insisted that I did not want a photo and he eventually let me pass, his fellow coworker followed me into the observatory viewing area and proceeded to aggressively insist I had threatened his colleague. At the point I indicated his and his coworkers actions were unprofessional and I would press charges if he did not stop, he walked away. Later, when looking out the windows I turned around and he was standing and continuing to watch me. I approached the observatory staff and communicated what happened at which point a manager came by and agreed to address the situation with the 3rd party photography company. Whether or not he will talk with the company and address the situation, I will never know. I do know that is such unprofessional and threatening behaviors is not acceptable. read more

I have to admit I had a haunting sense of déjà vu when Jamie W. and I decided to come here because I vividly recall back in the 1980's being on the outdoor observation deck of the 110th floor of the South Tower and taking photos of the skyline with my Kodak Instamatic. I remember earlier on in the 1970's when my late aunt took me to the Windows of the World restaurant for a breathtaking sunset dinner, and then finally in late August 2001 staying at the Marriott World Trade Center and contemplating that I should have gone in September when it was a bit cooler. Here I am sixteen years later, getting ready to go up the 102 floors in the new One World Trade Center and bringing all those memories with me. Standard admission is a rather steep $34, which we bought online beforehand for a scheduled time of noon on a Saturday. We came in by way of the Oculus and still waited in line due to the fully expected security checks. We were immersed in our first walk-through video wall with images televised on dimensional blocks featuring various people who discussed their role in the building's construction (photo: http://bit.ly/2s8UK2k). This was followed by a cavernous section which showed the bedrock upon which the building sits (photo: http://bit.ly/2sH7PRw). We got on the Sky Pod Elevator where we were surrounded by an immersive time-lapse video showing how New York City evolved over the past 500 years. As were let off on the 102nd floor, we watched yet another multi-image video, this time a lively montage focused on daily life in the city after which the wall was raised to give us the first glimpse of the spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline. This high point was followed by the low point where young staffers pitched special iPads that allow a virtual tour of the surrounding views (photo: http://bit.ly/2t9LUzR). It cost $15 to rent, and unless you are a complete neophyte to the city, there was little value in purchasing it. We sneaked past people to take the escalator down to the 100th floor where the main observatory floor is. This was everybody spent most if not all of their time, and for good reason. In the past I have gone to the Empire for their observatory. One World offers a better view for people new the to the city for several reasons. In my opinion, it offers a better wholistic view of all of New York; the mass skyline, the Statue of Liberty, all of the awesome bridges. I love taking a moment of silence and viewing the WTC memorial at the foot of the building before going in, and the view offers an amazing view of the memorial below. I just believe this offers a far better perspective than Empire. However, it is pricey, especially when going with a family. The cheaper general admission ticket is roughly $40 (closer to $50 with taxes). However, if you're willing, pay the additional $10 for the next ticket "up" because you can skip the longer lines with a priority pass. Well worth it, because we easily avoided an hour wait to get in. read more

Tickets may range from $17 per person to $27. It depends on the sale they're having (according to the significant other). Check periodically bc tickets are non-refundable. On the way up, you'll get to see a time lapse video of the areas surrounding the building so be on the lookout for that. After you arrive at the top, you're escorted to an area that's roped off with blinds on the windows. They show another video and make a speech. The blinds are lifted momentarily and then closes. Don't fret bc this was just a taste of the view. You are then straddled along to another area where they try to sell the iPad rental. It was cool bc it has labels of the buildings as you hover it around and gives you fun facts about each place. The rental wasn't bad at $15 for the group for as long as you want. You are finally then able to scamper off to see the view. The view at the top was amazing. Just before dusk, you'll get to see the buildings, bridges, and water. After the sun sets, it's another sight to be hold. One area had a gentleman from a historical society providing facts and tid bits of info about the tower. I opted for the reserved time slot with fast pass access, which really came in handy and cut the wait time down by like 40 min when I went before lunch. There is a mini cafe atop the 102nd floor or so, and it is a bit over priced, but I guess you pay for the experience. They give you an option for an iPad info pad which can give you information about what your looking at from the observation window or about the building. I was born in NYC and although my family moved to the Philadelphia area when I was very young. I don't really consider myself a tourist. My uncle lived most of his life in Queens and my niece lives in Brooklyn. Over the years, I have spent a lot of time in NYC. Visiting the One World Center can be definitely touristy. It is a bit strange seeing so many tourists and attractions at a place so tragic and haunted. It is also a testament to the spirit of New Yorker's to rebuild and continue on. We were in Manhattan for Mother's Day and decided to visit the One World Tower and Observatory. We bought tickets online and highly recommend doing so. We were lucky with the time we chose, as there was virtually no wait to board the elevators. The elevator ride up has display screens on the walls showing how Manhattan has evolved over time, which was very interesting. The elevator ride is very, very fast and I did feel slightly squeamish when we arrived at the top. Once you get up to the observatory decks, the views as others have written are truly breathtaking. There are incredible views facing every direction. The observatory also contains a gift shop, a snack bar area and a very nice and expensive bar and restaurant. We sat down and watched a short presentation by City Pulse that was well done. All of the employees of One World Tower were very friendly and courteous. For my family and myself, this is a one and done visit but something definitely worth seeing once. It cost us about $100 for 3 people in total for the tickets. Get ready one for one the most breathtaking views you'll ever come across in your lifetime. One World Observatory brings you a 360 degree view of the entire city of NY and is currently the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Like 102nd floor high up! Sure, it's a tourist attraction and all but it's the best kind of one you could ask for when in Manhattan. We came on a Saturday morning at around 11AM with the regular general admission at $32. I was afraid there would be a long wait to get in but we were shuttled in pretty quickly and finished after around 45 minutes. The elevator ride up is quite a trip with its high speed; in just a few seconds you'll find your ears popping and your head feeling a little lighter than normal. While located close to Ground Zero and the World Trade Center, the experience is more about the history of the city and architecture of the building itself. When you reach the top, you'll see an incredible 360 panoramic view of the skyline from Mantattan to Brooklyn to the Hudson River to the Statue of Liberty and much more. While there are plenty of places to get a great view of NYC, there truly isn't one like the one here at One World Observatory. read more

I was privileged to be invited to a VIP awards ceremony that was held here on the 102nd floor. To be honest, before the event, it didn't really occur to me that the event was being held in a gorgeous setting that tourists were shelling out big bucks for. The ride to the top was so very cool - the elevator walls are a really a sense-surround video of what you would be seeing to float that high up. I loved it. But the experience starts before the view when you rise up in the elevator over 100 floors in about a minute in an immersive experience where the walls of the elevator are video screens that take you on a visual history of the growth of Manhattan. Once up at the top there is a very brief presentation and then you are able to go around a couple of floors of history and breathtaking views. As the tallest building in the western hemisphere, the bar and restaurant in the One World Observatory are also the highest in the western hemisphere. While the drinks are pricey up there, they do have a nice selection of mixed drinks, a good (not great) local beer list, and wines. The view was really good, if I go back in the future I would take a dedicated camera to get some good pictures from the top. We got through security pretty quick and were on our way to the top. The employees were all pretty friendly and the place was nice and clean. The only thing about it that really annoyed me was that prior to seeing the sights from the top they hold you in this little room and have you watch a video. It's short, but it's also not something I came to see. The view was just as I expected. I really would like to give this place 3.5 stars. I did come here on a weekend so it was crowded and that was expected, so come here on a weekday if you want a smaller crowd. You do have to go through a metal detector and from there you get into an elevator that has an animation of the surrounding area for the last few hundred years and how it progressed over the course of time. That was pretty cool and made the 47 second elevator ride go by really quick. Every second was approximate 10 years of landscape history. The regular admission is $34 but if you buy online you can save $3. Look for a Groupon or livingsocial deal and the price can be even cheaper. I came here on a Groupon with a coupon and the price for me was approximately $21 a person, for that price I thought it was worth it. Everything up there is very overpriced, from pictures that they take of you to food and drinks. A poland spring water bottle is $5 and O.N.E. coconut water is $7, a hot dog $5. Overpricing is expected but for such an expensive admission, I would imagine the pictures would be chealer. It was approximately $40 for 1 picture and 2 digital copies. This place is definitely worth a visit but I don't see myself coming here again unless I'm paying $20 or so for admission. read more

We arrived I believe 25 minutes before our time of arrival and we're told to come back which annoyed me but I get that they're trying to control capacity. It was our first time to go all the way up to see this beautiful city from above, what an amazing experience this place is. Just couple of things for the tourists to know. Don't fall for the trap of buying upgrades tickets because it's the same thing as the $40 you will get, I pay for ours 50 for adults and 44 for teenagers plus taxes they tell you tour includes in this price but what they actually give you is a virtual tour on the tabletdon't get me wrong is a cool tool but come on. Also the food in here is a ripoff expensive unless you have money to throw away is not worth the prices.. just to give you a example a glass of wine is $14 and a can of beer $9 I mean I am into savings not sure about you. I can't imagine even the most cynical and jaded person not being blown away when you get that first glimpse of outside from the 102nd floor. Seeing iconic NYC landmarks like the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty looking puny is just wild and really has your brain freak out a bit. (Especially if you were at the Statue of Liberty the year before and remember how many steps it was to get to the top and how impressive that seemed originally.) The family got the middle package for advanced tickets and it's always nice to not have to wait in lines with the commoners (wink wink) and before you know it - you're much higher than King Kong ever got - with your iPad tour guide around your neck - and walking around just taking in the breathtaking views and trivia. Being a major tourist spot - you need to be prepared for countless people that are a bit too eager and excited (and maybe a touch self-absorbed) with their selfie-sticks and lingering way too long in a spot you're hoping to wiggle into for your own perfect picture. Staff - professional, no-nonsense. Cafe - solid (tasty) options, decent prices. Gift shop - wasn't impressed and some items were ridiculously priced (even by NYC standards). I resisted coming here for a while, as I am terrified of "tourist traps" (most New Yorkers share this fear). I had someone visiting, so figured I could bite the bullet and try a weekday - great idea! Honestly, I was overall positively impressed. This is very well run and organized. The "attraction" is beautiful, I loved the exposed bedrock and a little background on the engineering elements of the new WTC. It almost feels like an Epcot attraction. One World Observatory is located on the top floors of the One World Trade Center (WTC) and is the tallest building in the Western hemisphere. The 360 degree view of NYC is amazing from the observation deck. Although you have a glass barrier you are still able to capture some good photos and see all the signature landmarks--Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Flatiron Building, etc. I was blown away by the whole experience which starts before you even get up to the 100th floor. The elevator ride is interesting and they play a timeline video that takes you throughout history so you get a better perspective before arriving at the desk. Although I liked the elevator ride when my friend realized how high we were going up she froze and decided not to do it, and unfortunately that's the only way up. The ride really wasn't that long but just note that this is the only option if you think you might be uncomfortable riding in the elevator. I do recommend buying tickets online in advance if you know the date and around the time you're planning to go. This made it easier for us because we didn't have to wait in line.
