I have been here a few times for last-minute much-needed massages and have always been happy with my choice. The spa is inside hotel Place-d'Armes. It's a nice place, typical of a spa: smells good, has relaxing music with a tranquil ambience that makes you want to whisper everything. The staff is always very courteous, helpful and nice. I have had a different massage therapist everytime as it's always been last minute. Every single one of them have always been very professional, efficient of my need. The massage therapist I had yesterday was Diana (I dont remember other names because it was a whole back) and she was very attentive, always making sure that the pressure was ok for me etc I definitely recommend this place

Plenty of seating and scenery. Nice vibe

Everyone loves a good spa day.. but how about a spa day on a boat? Yep.. head to Bota Bota! They…read moreare known for their water circuit and spa treatments, and the location and views are beautiful. The water circuit consists of a three step process that will promote relaxation and wellness. First, begin with either a hot sauna or steam bath, this helps improve circulation and promote detoxification. Next you transition to a cold plunge, to help boost some of those good endorphins and reduce inflammation. Next you want to relax. They have a bunch of areas to chill out and lounge around. The resting is important as it helps your body stabilize. Once you've rested, repeat! Or if you're like us.. go back to your favorite spots. After a couple cycles, we had appointments for some spa treatments. I got lymphatic drainage, which was SO relaxing, and Caleb got a deep tissue massage. This was the perfect add on! The one recommendation I do have, is before having a spa treatment, go change out of your wet bathing suit and into something dry. Putting on a wet cold bathing suit after a relaxing massage was... unpleasant. My own fault! Bring a book and sit on the decks to soak up the sun and enjoy your relaxation steps. The facility is well maintained and clean, and the changing rooms are great. We truly enjoyed this experience and it was such a unique thing to do in Montreal. They also have a selection of bathing suits in case you decide last minute to add this on to your itinerary. Highly recommend! Lentz_explore

I've never actually been to a real spa before (I've had facials and massages but never a full…read morelike... spa experience) and so I figured while on my very snowy December trip to Montreal now was the time. The fact that this spa is on a boat and half of it was outdoors was the appeal! So we booked just the water circuit (no extras, just saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs) to see if this was even something we'd like. Turns out the December visit was the way to go! It wasn't packed at all, and turns out that sitting in a hot tub while the snow falls on your face is actually a top ten life experience. It was cold as heck out, mind you, but somehow you never feel chilly when you're going in and out of saunas and hot tubs. I did wish some of the relaxation rooms were a bit warmer, or there was an ability to swap out a soaking towel at some point, but I was never uncomfortable. Everything was clean and people around us were respectful. I loved the no phone policy and definitely chilled out to staring into this strangely brutalist bay. David Lynch relaxation vibes. The best was the floor where you could sit in a porthole window -- only wish we had discovered it earlier! I would totally come back here and check out some of their other offerings. Dunno, might even aim for a winter trip again because it was just that nice!

I also tried their head to fingertips massage. It was nice, but maybe not something I would do again. It just felt a little slow and not the most relaxing experience. I did really love the grounds. We got lucky that it was a beautiful fall day and we could spend the whole time comfortably outside. We floated around from the hot pools, to the cold plunge, to the Yurt, to their couches by the water. Overall that was truly lovely. The restaurant was an experience. I happened to ask at check-in if we needed a reservation and quickly realized we did. Luckily they were able to fit us in for a late lunch. The restaurant was very busy, so the reservations made more sense. The Nordic menu definitely had some interesting options. The poached pear was probably the prettiest dish I've ever eaten, but it was undercooked, so almost impossible to eat since they didn't give us a knife. Service was very slow and we did not have the opportunity to ask for a knife since our server wasn't around. The Bad: I've never been to a day spa where they didn't give you spa sandals to wear throughout your stay. We were surprised by that. I had to wear my flats all day and my friend had to wear her sneakers. I was also surprised that access to the thermal pools was not included with your treatment purchase. I also wish they provided more amenities in the locker room like most spas do (razors, hair products, eetc). Overall, is this place perfect, no? Did I still thoroughly enjoy it and have an amazing day utilizing the outdoor facilities? Yes!

I'm not new to massages, in fact I love them and make a point of going at least 5 time a year usually. I enjoyed my massage here with Simona. She was tough in the areas that needed it and released some of the tension I was feeling. It's a cute, small "spa" in the old port. I was in a desperate need for some self-love and I was treated to a 90 minute Hot Stone Massage and an advanced facial. The combination of the massage and facial was just the perfect treat. The Hot Stone was soothing and relaxing. 60 minutes would have been too short, 90 minutes is just the perfect amount of time for it. During the facial, the aesthetician dedicated good part of the time taking out some of the blackheads on my face. After the facial, my skin felt plump and glowing. Recommend this spa, anyone looking to take 2-3 hours off their day to pamper themselves.
