I have a new car loan and make the payments on time every month. Same with its insurance which is a nationally known brand. Onpoint keeps putting their own highly overpriced insurance on this car saying its not covered when IT IS! They said they informed me it needs insurance proof which is a lie. After I notice the bill being added I then have to take a day and go down there with the paperwork proving its covered. This is the second time this has happened. I was one of the disabled individuals standing in line today to receive the $500 relief funds (I had been in line since before the branch even opened). After 5 hours in line the manager of the branch came out and told everyone in line that they were out of funds and they would not be taking any more walk ins. It was stated that "they didn't think it was right to make us sit and wait in line when there was no money coming". Immediately after most of us had left (including myself) they told the people still standing around that they in fact do have extra funds and started allowing walk ins again. A group of my neighbors that had been far behind me in line had stuck around and all of them received the $500. Before I walked away I asked the manager 3 questions. 1. Are we still able to apply? His answer was "no". 2. Are we able to apply for an appointment? His answer was "no. The funds are gone". 3. Will there be another opportunity for this help in the future? He responded that he had no way of knowing that right now. And then to find out that the neighbors who had been quite a way behind me in line received help that I was refused is heart wrenching. I will be personally contacting the manager to let him know how his misrepresentation of the situation has impacted my family and our ability to keep our heads above water for just a little longer. The manager lied straight to our faces to get us to leave then handed the money out to whoever was left. read more

I enrolled in this Credit Union because it was small and local. This was my mistake. I had no idea their customer service would be so negligent, short-staffed, or whatever their excuse is for long wait times over the phone or crappy website design. When on the way to open the account, my wife and I attempted to call the bank to find out what we'd need. We were on hold forever. It was late on a Friday afternoon, so I figured I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and enroll anyway. We got what we needed in a timely manner because we were giving them money after all. Recently, I find that I've been locked out of my online account. When I clicked the button for "Reset my password", I got an error message stating that they couldn't reset my password and would have to "contact your financial institution". I attempted to call the 800 number and was put on hold for 15 minutes for a password reset. The reason I do online banking is because I don't want to deal with long wait times. I tried to call the branch, and found that it goes to the same automated service. They do give you the option for a call back, but if you miss the call, they just leave a voicemail to call the same # and go through the same hold/wait all over again, and don't seem to make any attempt to call you again. I am going to close this account as soon as I have a chance and take my money and membership elsewhere to a more reliable institution. read more

When you're information is stolen, Fraudulent checks are deposited you hope that your local bank will find a way to take care of you. That was not the case here, after speaking with Sandy the Branch manager at OnPoint, and Mark fraud department manager with all the evidence including photo evidence of someone stealing my information and committing fraud they want me to be held liable for it all.They lied to me and told me inconsistent stories on how my account was compromised. When your identify and account info are stolen you don't expect your bank to join in and attempt to steal from you as well, this bank has robbed me and if you're not careful might do the same to you. Bank elsewhere, local isn't always as great as it seems They say they've done everything they can, yet they physically showed me evidence of the person who was using my account, told me multiple attempts were made before guessing my pin, and then attempts after I gave them my card to shred, the person whos been committing the fraud and has a copy of my card is still attempting to use it? Sounds like it's easier for you guys to blame me even with all the evidence than it is to actually investigate the case, thanks again for continuing to allow your banks to steal from me. read more

There are many reason but I'll stick with the biggest... the manager. She needs to be fired. She's not smart and gets worked up if you ask her questions she can't answer. She turned into a major b***h for me. I forgot my app password (it said go to branch to fix it) the manager had my ID and debit card in her hand and wasn't even willing to show me my account activity. There was more I needed done. Dayana Garcia has always attended us (10+ years) and she always helps when we have questions about our accounts. Dayana is bilingual, speaking perfect Spanish and always helps my mom thoroughly. She is very professional and even when she has other customers waiting for her, she rushes in helping us. We have banked with other credit unions but have never received quite the same attention as in the Orenco branch. This community credit union is very homey and Sandy always greets us when going in. Highly recommend OnPoint to anyone looking for great attention, and guidance regarding opening any accounts. read more

My wife and i were treated so badly by Christopher Wilkins and his manager. They ran my wifes credit without her permission and declined our application based on their poor basic math skills. Their customer service was just awful. They offered no apology or explanation whatsoever. Stay away from this credit union. I was a little bit concerned about coming here based on all of the negative reviews I'd seen, but decided to come by anyway since most businesses only get a review when people are angry, and this seems especially true in the Hillsboro area. I had a great experience. I opened an account, switching from my bank which was fine, but I'm switching because I wasn't getting anything out of it. They were busy, which was surprising at first but when I thought about it, it's located in a fairly central location. Also it was Friday afternoon which is when people get paid. Christopher, the gentleman who helped me, explained their hours and provided me with suggested times to visit that were less hectic. Very polite and professional. Everyone else working there seemed the same. I would suggest if you're nervous about visiting as I was due to the negative reviews, give it a chance. Go in and judge for yourself. Once my account was open, I applied and received a visa card and they accepted me for their premier interest rate of 2.9% APR on my new car spread out over 72 months. I mainly bank with another CU that is not local to me. Because of this, I have to rely on shared services locations to do much of my banking. I also have an OnPoint account, but use it in a very limited capacity. Opening that account was of course super easy, but I have nothing but problems trying to use their ATM's for shared services. It's so inconsistent and frustrating. I can pull up to the drive-through and attempt a deposit, only to be told it's not allowed by my financial institution, then pull around and use the walk-up, and complete the same exact request with no issues. Last night however was VERY different from any of my previous bad experiences, in that their machine TOOK my money. After putting a significant amount of money into the cash acceptor, the machine erred out stating "transaction cancelled", the light on the acceptor went red, and did NOT kick the money back. Upon calling OnPoint this morning, I'm told I will have to dispute this through my other CU, because OnPoint can't verify that I'm not lying. My main CU will have to contact OnPoint and ask that they audit their machine to find my $485. I will update my review once this situation progresses, but as of right now, I'm definitely not happy and would not recommend OnPoint to anyone. read more

I would give Onpoint zero stars if I could. My husband and I previously opened our account while living in Washington about 7 years ago, but have been using this branch for about 18 months. They've given us bad advice every time we have applied for a loan (whether it be home, or auto) and the last situation took the cake. We applied for a HELOC and have about $50k equity in our house. The plan was to pay off our remaining credit card debt and finish up the patio work in our back yard. The communication on their part has been absolutely ridiculous, we have had to hound for information and the only time we get a call is to ask a question that they should already have the answer to, if they took the time to document things. 6 weeks after application still nothing was being done.. We went in and Dayana (the person we applied with and was handling -or not- everything) had gone on vacation and neglected to tell us.. We had been waiting for her call. We withdrew our application after they stated the only way we would be approved is if we closed all our credit cards, which would be damaging to our credit. This info could have been given to us weeks ago. I'll be finding a new credit union ASAP. I'm SO unhappy with them, simply for the lack of communication and customer service. I got a loan through someone else no issue. Save yourself and don't bank with these guys.. The sign on the door says credit union, but they operate like a big bank. I opened my account before I came to this branch, so I have no idea how their customer service goes. However, I have used the ATM countless times and have come in three times for something small. I stand in line, tell the lady what I want, get it, and leave. Granted, the ladies (I've only ever seen and been helped by ladies), are pretty unfriendly and sharp with how they have treated me, something as simple as I need a few checks can make me feel like I'm actually bothering them. Also, the line says stand there to be called over, and I stand there even after someone leaves because I figured when THEY'RE ready, they will call me, like every other damn place I've EVER been to. Instead they almost angrily call me over. Well, excuse me for being considerate to you...this has been three times. Should I just walk on over after someone leaves with the rude assumption they have everything in order and are ready for me? Put it on the sign then! Also, the ATMs can be so broken sometimes. I usually come to deposit checks and cash, I've had it where one ATM couldn't take checks, and the other couldn't take cash. Do you know how annoying that is if I have to deposit both? I am so underwhelmed by the lack of customer support. My wallet was lost recently, including my bank card and photo id. I called customer service and was told to head into a branch with my social security card and another debit or credit card. I went to this branch with just that and my expired drivers liscense as well as another piece of photo id. I answered all questions the teller asked, my mothers maiden name, my last transaction, where I opened up my account. I even through in my account balance for further verification. She then let me know she couldn't do anything for me. I explained to her at this time this is my only account, and without access to any money I can't even put gas in my car. I asked if I could transfer funds then instead to my mothers account and receive my money that way.... Again no luck. Eventually she was able to give me $100 and nothing more. Certainly didn't feel like my "neighborhood bank". The teller's condescending attitude just added insult to the whole situation. read more

This location is the ABSOLUTE WORST! I would give it zero stars if possible. They have never once been helpful and they are always rude. My husband is a LEGAL immigrant with a SSN and they refused to serve him and basically inferred that he was a terrorist. He's from Canada. We went to the Vaughn St location immediately after and they had our issue fixed in minutes and were super friendly. I live in Hillsboro but I will drive the 30 minutes from now on. I walked into OnPoint to open a new account & was told everyone was busy & they reccomended I schedule an appointment, so I did. My appointment was scheduled for the following Friday, however I was in the area the Thursday before & decided to stop by to see if I could set up the account as opposed to having to drive over there again the next day. Sandy at the front desk was EXTREMELY condescending, I explained to her that I had an appointment the following day but was wondering if someone could help me anyway, she let me know that I had been scheduled with someone specific (I don't remember the name.) & that it would be about an hour before she would be available. I informed Sandy that I didnt care who I saw at which point she gave me a nasty attitiude & told me because I was already scheduled I would have to wait for the specific person to help me EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE TWO MEMBER SERVICE REPS SITTING THERE NOT HELPING ANYONE. You really expect me to wait when there are 2 people sitting there that could help me?... yeaaaa.. NO. Needless to say, I left & drove a mile down the road to First Tech Credit Union, they were extremely friendly & got me in right away. I ended up opening two accounts & refinancing my auto loan that same day. SORRY ONPOINT, BECAUSE OF YOUR HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & RIDICULOUS POLICIES YOU LOST WHAT COULD'VE BEEN A LONG TERM CUSTOMER. They wouldnt cash my check, give my daughter on of the kids piggy banks, or even let me use the restroom. The worst cutomer service I have ever seen. I will stick with my usual branch for now on. Our banker I Diana Garcia was extremely rude and short with my wife and I. When I asked specifics on the type of account she was opening for my son she was rude and annoyed. To think I'm here to do business to open an account for my 6 month old son. I was so annoyed at her I almost stopped her from opening the account halfway in and withdrew all my money and shut our accounts. Stay clear from her ridiculous to say credit unions would be better but all banks and bankers are the same. I honestly don't have time in my day to write a review on a bank branch but it's the only one in my area and I can NEVER deposit my money at either of the atms outside. I work at night and during the day and the weekend is the only time I have to deposit my money and the drive through is always full and doesn't accept cash and now the walk up one doesn't even work! The gal I worked with was very friendly, took her time with me and made sure all my questions were answered. Their Notary service is beyond horrible. Call ahead and be sure you ask IF they will notarize what you have, they don't do all notary services, AND they will not "notarize" certain documents if there are any missing or blank pages. OR, they send you to the UPS Store, because "they will notarize anything". Their definition of Notary is NOT THE SAME as anyone elses, so call ahead to save your self wait time, or give your business to the UPS Store. read more

THIS BRANCH IS AWFUL. I am not sure if the entire credit union has changed or if it is just this branch, I am currently driving 30 minutes out of my way to another branch to find out. In the past I have usually had good interactions with on point's employees but this branch is an exception, and unfortunately it's the one closest to my work. I've been in this branch many times and as other reviewers have mentioned, most of the ladies that work here will treat you as a nuisance. After my most recent interaction I believe this starts with management on down. I do not remember the managers name that I spoke to (after waiting for her as she typed away in her empty office for 30 mins) but she was extremely unhelpful and actually came off as mocking me. I went in for a pretty standard question about an overdraft fee and she told me there was "a note on my account not to help this customer", keep in mind at this point I had only asked for information about how the fee and processing schedule worked. After restating my question, she rolled her eyes and droned on with the corporate spiel for a couple minutes, talking over me any time I tried to interject. Finally it came down to me asking "okay, I am obviously out this $30, but is there anything I can do to prevent this type of thing from happening in the future?" Her response was a shake of her head no as she turned her eyes back to her monitor. That's correct people, she couldn't even be troubled to verbally answer my question. Maybe she is why all the employees at this branch seem miserable and annoyed. read more
