This place is a dream come true as far as credit unions go. Many convenient locations, TONS AND TONS of ATMS in network (meaning no ATM fee), and the staff are amazing. Super down to earth, happy to see you, and really personable. I set up my account at the Hillsboro branch. Their location is very clean and spacious with modern decor. They even have a change machine at the entrance that you put your change into, print out a receipt, and can either cash it or deposit it into an account. Their Fusion Checking account is amazing. For a couple of requirements met (like looking at your statement months a month online, having one payment -- like Netflix or something -- be set up as automatic or setting up direct deposit, 12 debit card uses a month, and setting up paperless statements allows you to have this checking account that gives you 3% back on your balance each month. I have yet to encounter that with any other bank I've had. I'm incredibly happy that I chose this bank (thanks to Yelp in helping with that!). read more

I was first helped by Cody, but unfortunately he did not seem to know how to do his job, and my issue was not resolved. Thankfully, I went to the next window where Meagon was working. She quickly and professionally took care of exactly what Cody failed to do. She had a great attitude, was friendly, and greeted me with a smile. Based on my experience, it seemed that either Cody needs more training or there may have been another reason for the difference in how I was treated. I felt concerned that it could have been related to my race or gender, although I cannot say for certain. I have been a member of Advantis predecessors for over 50 years. This is the first merger and changes in offerings that has pushed me over the edge to close my accounts. The services that I have come to rely on are no longer available unless I want to buy a new phone. Something they could solve but opt not to fix. I've known the manager of this credit union which used to be Advantis for quite some years. She's a very nice person and several of the other other employees are extremely helpful but I still cannot recommend this credit union to anybody anymore because they have merged with Rivermark. It's not the branch that is the problem. It's the entire organization because it has been absorbed into Rivermark credit union. I do not believe that Rivermark is a trustworthy organization any longer and I have to give their call center a big fat zero for a customer service. if you're thinking of opening an account at Rivermark save yourself the headache and find an institution that is more reliable and definitely read the reviews before you open an account. I'm really sorry to have to give Rivermark such a low rating i'm almost certain that someone is going to come along from Rivermark and try to change the narrative in order to try to change people's perception of reality in response to this review but this is gaslighting. I would find a new credit union after their merger. Online banking down for days. When I tried to call phone lines had backed up for over an hour. I tried to get a new card because the writing had worn off. I was told they could not issue one in the branch. I was told one was being ordered and sent to my home. I waited a few weeks and had to call and eventually had to go to the bank to find out the card was never issued. Of course they were sorry about the mistake again. Horrible. Repeated mistakes debiting my account multiple times for the same transactions. Then putting money in and taking it back out. All their errors. They have my account so messed up. Due to their repeated taking out money without notice to me to correct their mistakes, I can't even buy groceries for my family this week. Finally went into the branch. Nothing but we'll have someone call you. District manager named Marshal called me. Nothing. He didn't care. They don't care. I'm closing all my accounts ASAP and refinancing my car loan away from them. Horrible customer service. They don't care about you. Messing with people's money, accounts and lives Beware. After trying to access my IRA accounts with no success, I called Advantis customer service and was privileged to talk to Molly M. She was kind and respectful and let me rant a bit as she methodically worked on resolving my problem. Open an account on Friday March 31 went to the store for groceries and my debit card declined. Couldn't get a hold of anyone. Downloaded the app couldn't make it pass sign the agreement just wouldn't let me. Called card services the next day only for them to tell me I was over my limit which is impossible considering I just made a deposit and never had access to my funds. When entering my member info I don't exist. Now I have to wait until Monday to hopefully resolve this issue meanwhile I had to borrow money for food and my bills will be late which will generate late fees hope I can get my rent in on time read more

I am delighted after recently working with Ruby (and Stephanie) to close a home. I've been working with them for almost a year, and there are a couple of ups and downs scenarios because of the market situation. But Ruby was so nice to help me to get through the situations and never pushed for going forward (e.g., locking the rate). She advised what could be the best/worst situations, but never did anything that might intimidate/over-encourage us. I've been a happy customer for about twenty years and after recent events will never leave Advantis. Last week Tom Shepherd from Advantis called suspecting foul play. Sure enough someone tried to change our phone number so Tom called me. Phew! Walked me through changing our account numbers, getting new checks and the steps I needed to take to change my auto drafts and bill pay. Then, he sent me (!) a thank you for letting him help me. Days later Joshua calls because someone went into a branch and tried to cash a check with our old account number. Thieves foiled again thanks to Advantis team members. I started my account at Advantis at another branch, but I find myself here very often and it isn't even listed on Yelp! Until the remodel of the Belmont branch was completed, this was the only branch with Saturday hours. I might find myself here less often because Belmont is closer than Hillsboro, but I always stop by when I'm out here for work and have some tips to deposit. That money just burns a hole in my pocket! I did bring JG here to open an account and it was just as friendly and easy as my experience. The space is bright and warm, and the tellers are readily available at the counter or a desk to assist you as soon as you walk in. The only downside? Wood floors on rainy days can get a wee bit slippery! read more

It wasn't the best setting up the accounts as they brought someone in from another branch and I'll give her a break as she wasn't at her normal desk. Moved the mortgage here too. At first this credit union was great....no complaints! However be aware - if you go in to cash a check over $2500 they won't be able to. They will give you up to $2500 then send you with a cashiers check over to US Bank to get the rest of your money! If you have a large withdraw to make you need to call them at least 2 hours ahead of time so they can have the money. WHAT??? I have NEVER heard of this, First Tech has no such limit! read more

I tried to open an account here on a Tuesday, which conveniently is the day they don't open until 10am. I obviously got there at 9:15am. So I sat for 45 minutes and waited for them to open. I wanted to open a fusion checking account because the rate was too hard to pass up. As a new resident of the area, only being here 10 days, I didn't have time to get my new license and didn't have a utility bill yet. I figured a lease was proof enough. It isn't, the girl had to turn me away because I didn't have proof that I lived here. She didn't try to offer any solutions and told me to come back when I had proper proof. There loss, I went to another credit union the next day and they were able to sign me up based on the lease with the promise I get a new license within 5 days. read more

BAIT AND SWITCH. They did not pay that rate, not once! I had months with more then 20 debit transactions (they require a minimum of 12 for promised rate) Some vendors ran my debit card differently then the way Advantis credits you for an transaction, keeping me from that rate. SO Sketchy!!! ON TOP OF THAT, They bait you in with a decent interest rate, and hide behind that AND provide ABSOLUTELY no customer service to customers. They charge you for everything as well! If you need a copy of a check, need temporary checks, they can't even provide these basic services. (cant even do that!) read more

Finding a bank in a new area isn't a easy task. I did some research and found this bank to fit my needs the best. Setting up account was simple and even bringing in my cashiers check from Wells Fargo was a breeze! We have received excellent customer service since the day we opened our account. Why not 5 stars? No Saturday hours. This is something that they should look into adding because it makes it much more convenient! read more

Advantis has been hit or miss for me. When I first signed up with them in 2006 they told me I didn't have enough years of credit history to qualify for a small car loan (I had 10 years of credit history with a brand new car purchased and paid off at that point). I stayed with them because they had a branch on my street and they have the fusion checking where you get interest on your checking account. 4 years later I switched a new car loan to them and havent had any issues until recently. I lost my debit card at work, so I called to cancel it and get a new one. A third party service answered because it was after business hours. They told me I could go to one of the branches to get a replacement card, so I drove two hours to the nearest branch where I was told it would be a two week wait for a card. I explained the situation (I live two hours away, answering service gave me wrong information), the person at the branch was super helpful and worked out my card being expidited in two days. Not bad, but a lot of extra work on top of a 4 hour drive on my end. I moved in January and all I wanted to do was change my address. I tried to change it online, but the only way to change your address was to call or mail a paper form. So I called. But you can't talk to anyone at the actual bank anymore, you get some answering service, even during business hours. The answering service has to send a message to the bank, they then have one business day to call you back. No one called me back. A week later I got a letter in the mail with a paper form to fill out for an address change, that I could send back at my own expense. I called again. Again the answering service said someone would call me back. No call back. I called again today and asked to be transferred to one of the branches. Answering service guy said he couldn't do that, but someone could call me back in one business day. If you'd asked me a year ago if I would recommend Advantis to others I would have said yes with no hesitation, but now I would definitely not recommend them and I'm considering moving all of my accounts to a different bank where I can actually talk to someone who works for the bank when I have issues without having to drive 4 hours or waiting for someone to call me back.....or waiting for someone to never call me back. What a freaking hassle just to change your address?? ridiculous. read more
