We had automatic payment set up from an Onpoint checking account to an Onpoint auto loan. For whatever reason, the automatic payments did not go through for 3 months in a row. Frankly, we didn't notice because the account is dedicated to paying the loan, and we don't look at it all the time. Instead of contacting us immediately to let us know the payments didn't go through, they let us go on for 3 months then affected my credit report by 60 points. The customer service representatives refused to help me or reverse the report even though we always made payments previously and made the late payments as soon as we found out the originals did not go through. Which was only after looking at my credit report. They never notified us. They insist notices were sent in the mail, but we never received them. This is horrible customer service. Had we been alerted via a simple phone call, email, or message in the online banking portal, this would have been resolved immediately. Now my credit has significantly dropped, and the negative report will be on my credit for the next 7 years. Onpoint Community Credit Union needs to start contacting customers immediately when a loan payment is missed via phone call, email, and messages on the online banking portal. This used to be a great credit union; now it is worse than a big bank. We are paying the loan off early and closing our accounts with them as soon as possible. Put your money elsewhere. read more

Fraud on my account and dispute denied! This is normal procedure for this credit union. I use my other banks and didn't know about the transactions occurring, I called and canceled my card. I was denied because I had my card, and it was going on for a while. If you don't use this account it sits dormant how do you know someone is using it. I don't check it daily! Don't trust them with your money!!! read more

This is the best Credit Union! They follow the rules and regulations and play by the books but know when to have fun and celebrate via lunches or treats from happy business partners. The mortgage teams are fantastic and the managers care about their employees. The CEO is kind and I have personally got to meet him! read more

Went in twice and those two times I had Avram help me and the first time I let it slide and did want to write a review the second time I was annoyed. First off if you're going to hire anyone in the customer service field make sure they can interact with everyone even children. Both times he was not friendly to my son and the second time he was curious and wanted to see the pad and he slightly touched it and Avram yanked it out of his hand and told him not to touch it. First off that's my child so that's something I say to him and take away from him. My child was upset after he did that and started crying and Avram got super surprised and started like twitching a bit because my son was being loud. Like he had never in his life been around a child at all. Not friendly.. no warmth or feeling welcome around him. Didn't answer questions correctly and seemed in a hurry. Financed a new vehicle with OnPoint being the lender. All of the hoops, hurdles and crap you have to go through just to set up an outside account to make the loan payment is ridiculous. Then once that is done, to actually make your payment and have the system tell you it needs to call you with a verification code, phone rings and nothing. Beyond frustrating. -10/10, would not recommend this so called credit union. read more

My boyfriend deposited $400 of our rent money at one of these ATMs, and the machine ate the bills and didn't credit us. When we called them to dispute it, they said we'd have to wait 7-10 business days to get our money back. Or they'd let us take out a $150 "payday loan" on which we'd have to pay interest until they gave us our actual money back. Absolutely horrible service and we'll probably be switching to Advantis after this. Update: it ended up taking 14 business days to get our money back, and our rent ended up being late, thanks to this experience. They never contacted us letting us know it had been resolved, the money just appeared in the account. Still incredibly disappointed with OnPoint. read more

I was getting a little impatient and frustrated with this bank and how long it took for the bank to reimburse my $$. There were a lot of miscommunication and what not, but at the end of the day Lucy made it right and I appreciate her and her help. This whole miscommunication and waiting game lasted about 2 weeks. During that 2 weeks I've talked to probably 3 other worker before I actually got the help. To make it short, Hollie and Lucy are angels. They were very helpful and understanding. Another girl (who I did not get her name) was rude and short w/ her words, not friendly at all. That I did not appreciate. I've been banking w/ this credit union for many many years and will continue too. They seem to always make things right, and I do so appreciate it very much. read more

This branch has always been helpful for our family with friendly, professional service. Great rates with refinancing, cool savings programs for kids, 3x ATMs out front plus a change-counter inside. Chaotic parking lot is the only downside that I've encountered. Other than that, highly recommended! read more

I decide to visit the Mall 205 location today to withdraw a CD that mature one week ago, the customer services was a mess, the Bankers were pick the customers from the waiting lobby base in the most interested Business Sale, I ask after 35 minutes what was going on and way many peoples went in front of me?, finally after few complain to the Girl in the front desk and noticing that every time the Bankers were finishing with a Customer they will go to a middle office and proceed to talk about what happens to the customer,, they where defensively wasting time at work while I was waiting in the lobby, I ask the front desk lady for Gina the Manager and of course she was not in the Branch that explain the mess , finally the front desk Lady proceed to closed my Certificate Deposit and print me a Cashier Check, I dont think I will visit that branch in the near future since they make me waist my time I will defenelly not recommend that location to any future customer read more

This place or bank whatever you wanna call it! Have the worse customer service I have ever seen in my 20yrs in this beautiful country! Let me tell y'all what happen to me with OnPoint workers! A lady name Brittany who run the bank, basically what she said to me. And first last week on Thursday the 10th of this month, I went there to do my bank card reopen because apparently my bank is been fraudulent two time from the same bank same account. And OnPoint blame it on me and my phone for that fraud, so they told me to go best buy and geeg swaq to fix my phone, because my phone is the problem it may be hack that's her words! And I did I went to geeg swag did what they asked me to do and came back to bank and they told me my online bankin should work in one hour, so I left it didn't after one so I came back again! She told me oh my bad it was this n that but it fix now so go home n it should work in 24hr, mind you I already did this two times with them, so I went back again today after 7 days later my online bankin still not workin, so today the manager Brittany told me today today that my bank will be in timeout for 6month like suspended for 6mo for they mistake, after I waited for her for 45min god is my witness! This establishment have a horrible people's working there, so now I have to wait 6 mo to be able to pay them online! Witch is crazy how you going to blame me your own mistake! Just because you can bully the little guy! I swear this country is becomin outta control with people whom some what in power to do whatever they bless! It's not fair and it's not okay! And OnPoint ? You need to check your employees and retrain them the right way! I don't understand i did everything they told me to do and still it's my fault!?!? Come on OnPoint. We recently left Chase to join OnPoint. Chase is the devil. April at OnPoint (205 branch) made us feel like banks used to do business, welcome. The whole process was very smooth and I would recommend anyone to OnPoint. Waiting for the OnPoint iPhone app...hurry up! :) Warning!! The mobile banking is terrible. The lobby was crazy busy but the credit union had a great flow for traffic and I was in and out in 5 mins.

Why can't I get my money!!! I have been trying to get groceries for 3 hours. I transferred money to all different cards on my account and no one sees it. Declined at the register, declined at the atm, then drove to one of your branches and declined at that atm. I call telephone teller to try and transfer it that way to see if maybe it's a problem with your online and the telephone teller says it's having technical difficulties and routes me to a line that says you are closed. 3 hours now and I have no access to my money and my fiance standing at the store with our groceries. This is ridiculous. This is the third time I have had this issue with onpoint and they always blaim the atm companies but I never had this problem when I had Wells Fargo or chase. read more

I'd give this joke of a bank .1% of a star if I could! The atm ate my money and cancelled the transaction. I go inside and they wanna tell me that I have to make an ATM dispute. Why is it that your machines fuck up and you wanna make it the customers problem?! Now I have to wait for that to process (Which could be days) and I have no gas money. In 10-2020 bought a car here ! Ask for the copy three time and never got it ! In 11-2020 and 12-2020 the took my old payment out of my other bank after paying it off in 10-2020 !Called in 12-2020 and they fix it ! Called and ask that the manger to call me twice but no calls back ! They need to train there help more and start calling people back ! The man that help me called me David and that not my name !! I am a fairly easy to please customer. Just don't charge me unnecessarily, and I won't complain. One of the reasons I left my big bank was the stupid little unnecessary charges. OnPoint is no different from a big bank. It's one of the least customer-friendly banks I've used. I just closed my account and signed up with a credit union that actually puts the customer first. Here are some of the reasons I closed my account: -charged $15 for a third-party check deposit and would not authorize the deposit. When I called to complain, they refused to reverse the fee. Their explanation is "most banks have this policy these days." I've never had a bank bat an eye at third-party check deposits, and I called around to other banks who said they do not have this policy -online banking and bill pay were often down on the first day of the month which is when I (and probably most people) get paid and pay bills! -they charge $3 to transfer money from saving to checking for overdraft protection. The new credit union I joined does not charge for overdraft protection. Why do they need to charge $3 to transfer money that's already there??? - I had an unauthorized charge on my account which caused an overdraft and subsequent fees and they refused to me refund the fees. Told me to "Take it up with them" RE: the business that made the unauthorized charge. -Bill Pay takes 3-5 days to make a payment. Most other banks I've used, bill pay is either instant or 2 days at most. I would shop around the other local credit unions such as Advantis and Unitus before signing up with OnPoint. read more

we arranged to have only a savings account and ATM for our special needs daughter. we explained she only functions at the second grade level and my husband who is legal guardian would be on the account. Worst credit union EVER. STAY AWAY. They have lied to me about check protect being active and have not only returned my checks (I don't overdraw often), but then charged me numerous fees for them. I even got a call from their LP center, where both the agent and the manager were extremely rude! The manager shut my debit card down without giving me a chance to talk to her, then hung up on me. My card had been stolen but they didn't care. Ridiculous. Recently I went in to send a wire and they made me wait for almost 1/2 hr for somebody to help that supposedly knew what they were doing. I watched a person come out of a room that does these things, clearly saw two of us waiting, but proceeded to meander and empty trashes instead of help the clients. The man was nice but absolutely out of it. I wrote down on a piece of paper CLEARLY, all the info they would need, step by step, and he still kept asking me questions because he didn't get it. I've encountered a few nice tellers, but the managers are incompetent, and rude as hell. I went in today and brought my change in to be counted by the self-serve machine. When I got up to the counter, the teller said I apparently was overdrawn by $30. My coins were $17.25. End of the month, needed money for gas and food. She said she had to get approval for me to get the cash. Not more than a minute later she told me her manager declined me. She snatched the ticket out of my hand and applied to my account without my permission. Most of my family has now left this credit union and now I will be too. read more

Meh. It's okay for a no frills checking account, but anything more the fees are outrageous. A money order costs more here than the post office. There checks are triple what you would find online. You get charged for everything. read more

I don't even know where to begin. I usually go to this branch 2-3 times a week on my way home from work, a couple nights ago I stopped by to deposit some checks into my account. The employee who helped me (I believe her name was Aleara) was SO incredibly nice and kind. She greeted me before anyone else, made eye contact the whole transaction, smiled, and had a heart to heart conversation with me. Most the employees are mean and rude to me every time I come in and Aleara had such a caring and genuine personality to her. She never acted like it was a burden to print me all different receipts, instead she smiled and told me she understood (which warmed my heart) The employee next to her kept asking for her help while I was waiting in line to be helped, she smiled and walked over and helped the gentleman every time. Thank you for treating me like a member and not just another person who walks through the doors from 9 am to 5:30pm. I can't wait to come back to this branch to see her. read more

I tried making a deposit of 240.00 using one of their ATMs and the machine ate the money (The ATM on the far left, standing facing the building. If anyone is counting). I've called and have been denied a dispute stating that there was no error that had occurred. I would love for someone to help me to get my tip money back. That was a lot of saving pocket change just for it to just go down the drain. (I even still have the receipt that it happened!) read more

Treena Surrant and Alexa were the worst examples of customer service ever. I have been with the bank for over 8 years and have multiple loans and deposit relations with them. 1. I asked about what happened to my external transfer since i need that to pay my auto loan. Alexa kept pushing that I had no money in my savings and so I need to pay. I clarified once again for her that I know this and I am asking about the transfer that is going into the savings and she said there is none. Treena comes over and at first seemingly helpful. Starts lecturing me about how this account is my responsibility being very rude. They find out there was an external transfer ( doesn't even apologize) and that it was stopped for some reason. 2. I was getting a return mail wrong address fee on my account. I set up the account with my current address that I have had forever. If there is a wrong address and mail is being returned on a OnPoint Document. it is NOT my fault and they have my address as my current one. Treena insisted I goto the post office and get it fixed and be more responsible. she offered to refund 3 months of the fees, I simply asked to refund it all (25$ rather than just 15) and she said ok I will $20. Obviously has power issues but I explained I have been with the bank for a long time( 8 years) and she got agitated and instructed her teller to waive it then she said she made a note that it will be my responsibility going forward to stop this from happening. I will be going to the post office because i need this taken care of but not apologizing after assuming I didn't know about banking or how any of it works was ridiculous and to continually say I need to be more responsible was unacceptable. I have never missed payments and kept a good deposit history. This bank needs to teach its employees to work with the client and not against them. read more

Been with these guys when they were Portland Teachers Credit Union and I never really had any problems with them other than my debit card not working a few times. I also kinda hate the mobile banking. I try to log on to my account and nothing happens (probably because my phone doesn't like the security question thing popping up). I tried to give OnPoint my business about 1 year ago. I opened up a savings account and paid my $10 fee for joining. I specifically got the account because i'm not real fond of big banks, especially not in light of the current economic crisis. I also got the account because my fiance has a few accounts with them and they have a nice ATM feature that allows you to deposit cash. The first time I tried to use the ATM, the machine told me that my pin was invalid. I had to wait until the weekend to go back into the branch and have it reset because i go to work and get out of work outside of OnPoint's business hours. I went back, tried again, but it still didn't work. I tried this 4 weekends in a row with no success and no troubleshooting help from the bank. I closed my accounts and asked for my credit union fee back, but they refused. It was $10 granted, but it was the principle. They were responsible to provide me a service that never came to fruition. My second attempt to give them my business was this past week when I applied for an auto loan. I filled the form out online and called in after 2 business days as requested. I spoke with Thomas who went over my information and said he would need to contact underwriting. Thomas said he would call within 1 business day after he sent my file to the underwriters for review. I never heard from him. I called him 1 week later on the day we were getting an inspection on the car and left him a message to call me back, so i could get an answer from them. I received no response. I bought the car that day and am writing this the day after we bought the car with no response from Thomas. I don't know how you can run a business with with that kind of horrible customer service. Thank god we didn't go through them for our home loan ( we tried to give them that business too, but the customer service was terrible again) or we may have lost the house. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you are looking for a bank that has some form of customer service and competent people. We are currently pulling our other auto loan and bank accounts. read more

Switched over from WaMu and am thinking that this may have been a mistake. We transferred the money online and Onpoint claimed for two days that they hadnt received any money transfer. They have done this several times now. There is no policy concerning holding money that is transferred, and yet they are doing it. When confronted, they claim that no money had come through. I dont think that honesty is what Im getting here. At least WaMu was honest about holding funds. They were not a great bank, but they were honest. I cant recommend Onpoint and am actively searching for another credit union. read more

i just switched to OnPoint after many years with West Coast Bank (a fabulous, efficient, caring bank). In just two months, OnPoint fiascoed my account, cost me money, time, and agony (distress). Extremely disappointed with my experience at this OnPoint. I was looking forward to opening up a checking account, as my boyfriend banks with them as well and it is close to my house. The first time I went in to open an account, I was not able to because my address on my drivers license had not been updated and I did not want a credit pull done. So I finally received my sticker for my DL and went back in. The first time I went in I had my DL, my social security card, and an expired passport for identification (which the woman helping me had no problem with whatsoever). Went in the second time, ready with my sticker on my DL, social security card and passport only to be told I did not have enough proper identification. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that I am currently not employed (the woman helping me had the audacity to say "You're not just at home right?" Even if I was,"just at home" it's not of her business. Basically went in twice, and wasted my time both times. I will definitely not be returning. I am putting my savings into another bank, and will let others know to steer clear of OnPoint. Worst bank experience ever. read more
