ONroute Port Hope is actually a bit west of Port Hope closer to Newtonville east bound on the 401 (south side). This is your first on highway rest stop eastbound after leaving Oshawa. If you need a restroom without having to get off the highway, this is your place. Burger King, not a fan so I won't eat here. Timmy's? I'd rather have a Starbucks if I'm going to have a coffee but sure Tim's is cheaper. It's not often I see rest stops with this many places that serve coffee and breakfast. Choice is better than no choice. If you're looking for better burgers keep going east until you see an ONroute with an A&W :) This stop is really well kept and looks brand spanking new.

ONroute Port Hope is my favourite highway pitstop I have been to. Clean, Spacious with plenty of seating. I just love those armchairs.... Washrooms exceptionally clean and plenty. Starbucks?!!! Need I say more, but Tim Hortons opens 24 hours. Wifi, great for travellers. I am afraid to stopover here, because I might end up forgot I need to move on and be somewhere else!

Tim Hortons had no breakfast sandwiches except bagels. Slow long lineup. Should have waited for a better stop on way to Ottawa.

I was travelling to Belleville on a Saturday afternoon and traffic was a bit sluggish on the 401. I had chugged a can of Diet Coke and a grande iced black tea. My bladder asked me to pull over at this rest stop, so I did. It was pretty busy, as expected when it's a long weekend. I parked further than I normally do and walked in. The women's washroom was clean. There were plenty of stalls. It has Dyson hand dryers. There's a Tim Hortons at this rest stop. There was quite the lineup. Other than that, I didn't see anything that I wanted to visit, so I left. As with most OnRoute stops, there are plenty of tables and chairs to sit down and eat, or take a breather. There is also a Canadian Tire gas station if you need to fill up your car with gas. (315)

Oops! In any case, we did and then went to use the restroom and water fountain in the store. There's a lot of seating there presumably for people to take a break, and there's Wifi too. Not too shabby for a rest stop!

If you, like us, are hungry and don't want to grease it up at the Tim Hortons, Burger King, or Extreme Pita, have I got the place for you! Fresh sandwiches and wraps, Lunchables, salads, fruit plates, charcuterie boxes, blended drinks, and such. I partook in a refreshing and well-mixed strawberry and blueberry parfait that really hit the spot. There's plenty of touristy Canada stuff from t-shirts and sweaters to maple syrup and stiufed animal moose's in Mountie outfits. A yes, plenty of snacks, sodas, and countless other conveniences. While a little overpriced, the variety of options and great customer service more than make up for it. To me, it's the one must-stop at the OnRoute. It's M-agnificent!
