Sales and Service: 5 stars! Everyone was professional and courteous! We had a snag over my plantation shutter doors. It was handled professionally although in hind sight I don't believe they needed to be removed. Impact on energy efficiency: 4.5-5 I was surprised what a remarkable difference the windows made on our power bills. I had wanted to change my order to triple pain on some windows and doors that get direct sun. I couldn't but if I could have definitely a 5. Beauty 4: These look nice and they dramatically improved the exterior look of the house. However, they cut over and inch all the way around. It isn't very noticeable on large windows, but small ones the difference is significant!! Installation 4: I really liked the team. I didn't give a 5 for two reasons. I think they could have installed the patio doors around the shutter frames easily! We had Sunburst take them down and reinstalled but damage was done that could have been avoided. My second complaint is they left doors open. This may sound petty until I add context that we replaced 7 patio doors. The crew composed of three guys. The weather was 90 degrees and they left doors open in one part of the house and were working in another!! Overall, I'm fairly happy with the windows. We have recommended them to people but they have something like a $1500 minimum.

We wanted to build an additional bedroom attached to the side of our home. We were told it could be done and it would take approximately 3-6 months to complete. A budget of $60k-$70k was established with Billy Vasquez. He assured us that this project could be completed within our budget. Fast forward 10 months later and the nightmare of dealing with Billy Vasquez and his company. Just trying to get in touch through emails or text messages with him was impossible. To say he was unprofessional would be giving him a compliment. We would text or email him and get no response for weeks on end. Of course he was busy with many other projects which were going smoothly I'm sure. Once we were finally put in contact with MSA Architecture to build the plans they were a nightmare as well. Months of ignoring our texts and emails to see when they were going to begin work. Eventually they sent a surveyor to our house to do some measurements. The surveyor spent the majority of the time in the street and about 20 minutes in our backyard. It didn't really look like he knew what he was doing. Finally we were told it would cost us $11k for the architectural plans and the room would cost approximately $120k to build. Needless to say we never went forward with the room. I regularly spoke with Connor about the job, who answered all my questions and concerns and sent over several proposals while I decided on the best option. My house had 3 layers of shingle going back to 1941 that needed to be demoed (meant adding the additional slats, plywood, moisture barrier, drip edge flashing, any vents, HVAC flashing sealant etc.) so it was a big re-roof. Contacted Copp to have a small residential roofing repair done. The wind blew off shingles on the…read moregarage in an area about 4 feet by 6 feet. Copp gave an estimate based on pictures that I sent the estimator. The estimate came back at $1100. I agreed to the estimate, expecting that the invoice would reflect actual time and materials. The roofer was able to access the repair area by ladder to an adjacent roof area. He did not need to climb or use a safety tether. He used a partial bundle of shingles to accomplish the repair in under one hour. The repair appears to be competently done. Copp invoiced me for the full original estimate. The Copp office is about 30 minutes from the repair site. Time on site and travel time would be between 2 and 3 hours. If billing were done at $200 per hour, time would be between $400 and $600. A bundle of shingles retails for $50. I believe that I have been substantially overcharged. I would have done the repair myself 15 years ago at age 60, or if it was summer, not winter. Finally, the office staff and roofer all were pleasant. My complaint is solely that I believe I have been overcharged.
