This guy calls himself a professional. I beg to differ. I sent him pictures for the job we needed to be completed and he quotes me $300-350. He comes at the appointed time and sees the work that needs to be completed and quotes my husband $450-500. He was unable to complete the work that day due to the other laborer not showing up last minute. Today he texts me and demands that I pay him $100 upfront for materials. I told him I would pay him $500 after the work is completed. Which is the price he told my husband. He than texts me that the price would be $600 because he needs materials. I than text him that this is not what he told my husband. He continued to text with me for more than an hour trying to haggle and nickle and dime me for $575 and than $560. I told him no several times. But he insisted that he wouldn't come nor complete the job, if I didn't come to HIS terms. I told him I would only pay him the agreed upon amount, but he wouldn't uphold his agreement. He continued to tell me good luck, he wouldn't lose sleep about canceling last minute. And the kicker is when he texts me that he would do it for $500 only if I Zelle him the amount right now. I told him I would not pay him upfront and that I would only pay after the work was to be completed. He than states that if I don't reach his terms than 'good luck.' I told him I have never had to pay upfront without meeting someone or seeing that the job is completed. But he insists I transfer him $500 through Zelle or PayPal for his peace of mind. I hired Stephen to install an awning on my back patio. When I spoke with him prior to setting the appt, I told him based on the manufacturers instructions, it would take 2 people to install. He showed up at my house by himself. I again said, I think you need two people. He reassured me after looking at the awning that it would be fine. Well, he completely botched the job, broke the awning, and then still expected payment. He said something was faulty with the awning (which was not the case). I had someone else come look at it, and found out it had been installed incorrectly, with the wrong length screws. I asked Stephen for my money back on installation twice. He has ignored me. I was in a time crunch and needed a door installed for my bathroom. We were moving out the same day so we needed immediate service. We called them in the morning and they were quite accommodating and was able to come fix the door the very same day. Stephen was the handyman who came out to help and he was very nice. The reason why I took off one star is because he originally said the work would be $100. At such a great price we intended to tip him around $40 but somehow we ended up being charged $200 due to the door needing to be shaved down about an 8th of an inch. Doesn't sound like an additional $100 worth of work to me, but what do I know? I don't even know how to install a door. Overall good experience, just be wary of price flexing. read more

Stephen came and gave me a quote to do some drywall, and lay 4 pieces of ceramic tile, and about 5 feet of baseboard. that needed to be replaced. After getting several other quotes from other contractors on yelp, I decided to go ahead and give Stephen the job since his prices were similar to the others (just under $1000), and He was the first person to respond to the message. We scheduled a start date of Weds 04-18-2018, and he began working. I asked him did I need to move anything, and he said no he would put a tarp up what would keep things clean, I said "ok, sounds good", and let him get to work. He completed the drywall work, and tileWork that day. The mud on the tile and drywall needed to dry, so he had to come back the next day (thurs 4-19-2018) to compete texture on the drywall after the mud was dry on the drywall repair. Then after he was done with the texture that needed a few days to dry before I could paint it. The deal was I would pain over the weekend. And he would stop by Monday to complete the job and replace the baseboard. I reached out to Stephen over the weekend on (Sunday 04-22-2018), and told him I'd finished painting, and he said he'd be out Monday(04/23), or Tuesday (04/24) to complete the baseboards. I said I'm i told Stephen I was satisfied with the drywall, and tile work, but He had made a huge mess, and gotten the texture paste, and drywall dust EVERYWHERE!! . It was on my kitchen cabinets, my surround sound speakers, my kids toys, and a very expensive painting (painting costs more than the price I paid him for the work) that I specifically asked him if I need to move. Over the next week Stephen would set 2 appts to finish the job, and no call no showed. He did this twice before he actually showed up and partially put on the baseboards on Tues (05/01/2018). He did one side, but didn't do the other side stating that "he didn't see it before, and didn't have enough baseboard to do that side" (see pics).. all in all It was a terrible experience, and I not impressed with the drywall work, all the other factors far outweigh that, and are additional reasons for the low rating. read more

You didn't come with proper materials needed such as gloves, Rags,step stool, and there was no tarp put down until we complained about it days later.
