If the paper actually arrives, I begin to sincerely hope that it is not raining. If it is raining, I will be picking up 5 pounds of wet pulp from my driveway. If the paper has been put in a plastic bag, note that I said IF, the bag is in no way secured so that when the paper is tossed into the neatest puddle, water leaks right into the bag. One could wonder why, despite MANY calls to customer service, the paper is always dropped just below my paper box. That is correct, they do not use the provided paper box. If you do not already subscribe, I could not recommend a subscription since customer service is not even on their radar.

I called DDN to cancel my newspaper they wanted to know why so I told them this story and they apologized and promised to immediately cancel my subscription!!! That was over 4 months ago when I called to cancel the subscription and the newspaper is still coming!!!! I even got a card on Friday from DDN saying "We Miss You" So What's Going On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All that was expected was that the paper hit the end of the driveway, I pay for the paper to be delivered to my door, this is why I chose to subscribe. If I have to go down my driveway in all types of weather, to retrieve it, I will turn on the local news in the comfort of my home instead. This is my answer to the letter that I just received asking me to support local journalism. I hope your journalists see this post and complain about the loss of their former supporters like me. It is a shame that your carriers did not find it worth the trouble of getting up earlier in order to make extra money. Really, is it more lucrative to use a service and lose customers and wonder why or pay your carriers more.
