Overall it was good but over priced! $17 each so $34 for 2 people is a lot to walk through the lavender! Sorry but it is too much! I know there is up keep but I am sure if they have that much lavender it's not just there for us to look at, there is money too be made.

The $10 cut your own lavender is a great experience and definitely better value than buying pre-cut lavender in their boutique. The shop is really cute and has lots of lavender infused items. They have yoga on some evenings but I went in the morning so wasn't able to check it out. I do recommend coming in the morning though, as it is less crowded. We stayed for about an hour and it was already getting busier when we left around 11am.

Now it's a good time to pick strawberries, raspberry, blueberries, peas, and corns. There are wagons to take ppl from one field to another. We got off at the strawberry field, but we don't really into the strawberry, so just took a look; then we got to the raspberry field, they looked good, but we barely eat raspberry; then we went to the Blueberry field, our destination was here. We saw another side of the field was having big blueberries, but they didn't open that side to us. And they said it was noon already, most of the big ones had been picked. I tasted a few, they were sort of big, but soured. We moved to other sides, but still the same. When we went home, most of them we made smoothies with honey. We also went to the peas field, not too many people. The peas were so sweet that we could eat them raw. But we went home to boil them with the skin, the skin was hard to eat, it was not snow peas, and too expensive when weighed with the skin. Good experience for the kids. They were happy.

We were charged $7 per person just to enter and take our annual photo by the growth chart, even though we weren't using the playground. We have been taking photos of our kids at the growth chart for over 15 years. The market was also significantly overpriced: the same Niagara peaches that sold for about $7 at grocery stores were $16, and corn was $1.25 per ear compared with 24 cents at a local grocery store. The frozen yogurt, once made with fresh fruit from the farm and real yogurt is now a frozen premix product loaded with sugar and tastes horrible. The issue isn't simply higher prices, it's paying more for lower quality and a less authentic experience. After 16 years of returning, our family will no longer be among those customers. If these changes continue, Barrie Hill Farm risks losing many of the loyal families who helped support it for years.

They have a cuddling hour with chicklets at 11 however we have lunch and nap conflicts with that . After we went into the beautiful sunflower maze, walked around, took some wonderful pictures (there are curated spots for pictures), and picked up a few sunflowers! My toddler left quite pleased with themselves. Overall a wonderful experience with a wonderful family. Lots to do and great atmosphere. There is also coffee, lemonade & other items for sale but we were not in need.

My one year old came out with red strawberry stains all over his face so I think it's safe to say that he had the most fun. Served with Kettle Chips") and it was handed to me within a minute of paying. It's a decent sandwich. The less-than-generous amount of pulled chicken is pretty tasty and the fresh, soft bread goes with it perfectly. The kettle chips were tasty, too. The rest of the place is fairly nice, although we were a little surprised at how expensive it is to visit the attractions. With tax, the total for two people came out to $35! It's a little outrageous given that there isn't a whole lot to do back there, although feeding the baby goats was a highlight. (Even that, however, you had to pay extra for.) Springridge is cute enough, though I doubt it's worth almost $100 for a couple hours of entertainment.

It takes about 2 hours to explore the grounds starting with the entrance from the Region of Waterloo Museum which is connected to the Doon Heritage Village on Huron Road. Staff are wonderful at answering questions and showing how the old tools and equipment were used back then. Some of the old tools are just rock solid and will last forever. Wood was the primary construction materials used for building. This explains why fire insurance was a fast growing business. Insurance companies in the Region thrived and made the economy grow in that sector for years to come. The Martin House is beautifully decorated inside and out. The family was of Old Order Mennonite religion. There were very conservative colour schemes used, and no mirrors were allowed in the home! The Old Post Office is connected to a custom tailor service in the same building. Our hostess explained how the one man operation (tailor and postmaster) was in charge of both businesses. Suits were made to order and were outfitted with ties and cuff links. It was a profitable venture until the Eaton's catalogue business became more popular. The Dry Goods Grocery Store is "stocked" with canned goods and non-perishables such as soap and laundry detergent. Brand names included McCormicks and Heinz. Homes were equipped with a cast iron stove that kept the premises warmer in the winter months. Check out the feet of the stoves which were designed like ones you would find on vintage pianos. Very enjoyable afternoon spent and we learned a lot about early life and hard work of the German community and how it all started in Kitchener (then known as Berlin).

Costume interpreters greet visitors in the historic buildings. Special events and activities throughout the village's May 1 to December 23 season. Doon Heritage Village is open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 1 to Labour Day. Hours vary from Labour Day to Dec. 23 - check the museum's website for public hours in the fall. The village is closed from December 24 to April 30.

I have to say, it was very far, but once we reached the outer skirts of Mississauga into Milton, I found the drive very peaceful. The farm is on 165 acres of escarpment countryside, and the current admission is $12/per person over the age of 5 years old. There were plenty of parking spots on the grassy areas, and washrooms are available. Inside the main building is a winery and shop that sells homemade goodies, including tarts, pies, jams, drinks, fresh fruits ... but on the pricey side! I personally can't imagine paying $18.50 for a pie made with lard. A bbq lunch is available on weekends. Note that you can't bring outside food onto the grounds. We brought a lunch but ended up tailgating. We missed the berry picking season (sold by weight), but I was pleasantly surprised to see many chickens running around right at my feet! The baby goats were adorable. They also had pigs, ducks, sheep, and other animals. There were plenty of beautiful dahlias ($2 each), but some of the sunflowers were wilting. In hindsight, early August would have been ideal. We came on a cloudy day but still captured some nice photos. We had an enjoyable afternoon.

When you drive up to the store, it's super bright and colorful, and it can't be missed. I enjoy the fresh juice bar, and each time I go in, I ask one of the employees to make me something new, and they never disappoint! It's a huge plus they have all those fresh fruits and veggies available. I'm super sensitive to certain things, and they always make something within my restrictions and I've never had an issue. The owner has gotten to know that I'm a visitor from out of country and always comes out to say hi and makes me feel like family. Thank you!
