I was recommened this place and have since recommended this place to family and a few friends. From my experience, it's always been such a personalized and professional experience. In fact, I always joke and say that Virtue Hair Imaging has officially become part of my social network :) My hair dresser particularly goes out of her way to recommend ways to take care of my hair. She also explains hair styles that compliment my look and overall personality that she has come to know over the years. During my many walk-in experiences, I have noticed the odd few customers who do try and "bargain" with their hair stylist by either threatening to go to another salon or by throwing an unnecessary public tantrum. I would like to take a moment to speak out against this because the economy is rather unstable and I've seen this happen at my work place too and it really bothers me. It's disgusting and it seems many are quicker to find ways to score a "freebie" than to say thank you for any good work done. So I would like to take this opportunity to thank Virtu Hair Imaging for all the good memories, good work, and all the extra oomph! Keep it up.

Among all the barbers and salons I've visited so far, I have to say Heather is easily the best -- or may I say, the GOAT! She is very skilled and professional, and delivers top-notch haircuts at a price that CANNOT BE BEAT. You can text or call her number to set up an appointment so you don't have to sit and wait. My English was poor at one point when I first came to Canada so I let that slide. I came in to the salon asking for a simple trim and cut that would shape my face better. My stylist Jun tried really hard to understand what I wanted but he just didn't get it, even after I showed him a picture. I left completely unsatisfied and had to go to another salon afterwards. What a waste of $50. :( Also beware that the prices listed don't include shampooing although they do give you a nice head massage which was probably worth the extra $5.

My instinct told me to walk out the place when the manager presented me a pricing menu that was incomprehensible. This salon is insanely expensive given the location, service, quality of products, vibe and design of the space. Their pricing structure is utterly confusing and atypical of how salons operate in North America, and even Japan or France where I've had my hair done many times. I went in for a half head root touch up and came out spending over $100 for this service alone (pre tip) that I know would be less expensive at some of the best salons in the city. They charge for hair color by the grams of hair color and then force you to get a blow dry based on your hair length at an additional cost. Why not just include it all together? Why not let me dry my hair on my own if I don't want this extra service? You present the blow dry on the menu as an additional service and then tell me it's not optional. I also had an add-on service head massage service where they presented me with one price while I was sitting in the chair and then charged me $15 more at check out for a "large" based on my hair length. As far as I can tell a head massage has to do with the scalp and not the length of my hair. This makes no sense and is deceiving. The only redeeming point to this review is the hair colorist Aske who did a decent job. To the manager who accused me of "blackmailing" when I told you I would be leaving you with a bad review AFTER I paid you in full with a tip. That's not how blackmailing works. It's my right as a consumer to warn prospective clients of your unethical pricing system. So yes, I am not "happy" and this is why I'm writing this review. You should take this moment as an opportunity to review your management, customer service protocol and operational tactics. You can see by my Yelp profile I barely ever go out of my way to give bad reviews as I understand how people can have bad days but this one is unavoidable, and I feel it's necessary to warn prospective clients who decide to do the research. Again, this review is not for the salon itself, but only for the aesthetician, Joanne. It was my first time there and I went for a brazillian wax and I loved it. It was the least painful, most efficient and shortest procedure I have ever had and I had a LOT of hair. She made sure to get every single one of them! She was also very nice and professional and gave me some advice. Overall, I would definitely keep going back there for waxing for sure.
