We live in NC and traveled to DC this weekend to ride in the BIKE DC ride. [The ride was awesome] and after the ride we happened upon the Ooh Dat Chicken truck and thought why not? Ordered the 3 chicken tacos and they were THE BEST chicken tacos we have had, Ever, Anywhere, EVER! I could have eaten 10 more. I was in Taco Heaven! If I did not live in another state, I would stalk this truck at every chance. I was craving more of these tacos all the drive home today. This place is just ok, it used to be great but the quality has gone downhill. In my opinion, the chicken is mushy in texture very similar to what you would expect to see in a stew-like dish. My guess is that they either boil or steam cook the chicken first to reduce the cook time and then finish it in the rotisserie oven. The skin is the most flavorful part of the chicken, and without it the meat itself is bland without the BBQ sauce. The sides are okay, but it wouldn't hurt for them to put a little seasoning in their black beans. read more

Stopped by this truck when they were at Franklin Park. One of my co workers said it was really good. I had the half chicken with rice and corn as the sides. it was delish. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. The rice was tasty and the corn was sweet. Service was fast and friendly. Definately some of the better rotisserie chicken I've had in a long time. First let me start with Wheaton needs to do this at least once or twice a month a MoCo Truckeroo made famous by the Navy Yard Truckeroo. Tried Ooh Dat Chicken and let me say delicious. First I started with 3 soft chicken tacos. It had rice, a lite sour cream, pulled rotisserie chicken, lettuce, & tomato it was moist and flavorful very light didn't make you feel heavy. Not to mention the guys that run the truck aren't bad on the eyes either..lol. But they are really nice and courteous guys. I went back to get the 1/4 chicken with that comes with 2 sides for $9 bucks for my dad. Hope to see this truck again in the future. read more

I feel bad that I am logging on for the first time in years to write about a horrible experience but it was that bad. Stopped here because my coworker and I were craving some chicken and it looked good. The workers were nice but the food was not. I got a 1/4 dark meat combo with rice and the cucumber tomato salad (they were unfortunately out of the potatos). My coworker got a rice and chicken bowl. I took a few bites of chicken and hit pink/a few red spots. Knew it wouldn't kill me but was kind of unsettling. The skin was really good though! I decided to try to some and the salad. The rice had zero flavor (I mean, I don't mind plain rice at all, but this tasted pretty bad). The cucumber and tomato salad wasn't very good either. I tried to kind of force myself to eat it but I ended up tossing it because I disliked it that much. My coworker then comes up to me and said he took a few bites of his rice bowl and couldn't eat it any more because it was flavorless, mushed together in a glob, and pretty gross. I tried it because it had more toppings than what I got and looked pretty good. It honestly wasn't. I'm not that picky and will usually eat anything, but I had to trash his as well. I couldn't bring myself to keep going. We hate tossing food but it tasted really bad, in both of our opinions. The only thing I liked was the skin on the chicken. read more

This is a pleasant surprise. It's a food truck so I don't expect perfection but this came close. I really like the chicken and the BBQ sauce with it was awesome. The three chicken tacos from the truck when it's here in Chinatown are a lunch staple. The chicken is juicy and they portions are generous enough that you still get plenty of chicken and are not overwhelmed by the taco toppings. For sides I got rice, which was just the perfect fluffiness and texture, and the basil cole slaw, these guys really know what they are doing. They are SUPER nice and quick too and all that for $8! I tend to agree with some other reviews- not much flavor to the actual meat- you need to dip it in the "honey mustard" barbecue sauce they give you to get any taste. Mine was very juicy but bland. I don't recommend the mixed salad- half the lettuce in mine was bad- like, rotten and visibly mushy bad. They should just take salad off the list if they're not going to use fresh lettuce. I got the quarter, and there is not a lot of meat, so if you want more, go with the half. I would probably give it 3.5 stars if my salad wasn't spoiled. read more
