Julie is an award winning beauty therapist who ran a variety of salons in the UK for 20+ years but now lives in Adelaide. Trust me a trip to visit her for a treatment or two and not only will your face and bod feel like a million bucks, you'll feel like you've known her for years. She has a really hearty laugh when you get her going. I've personally experienced facials, waxings and microdermabrasion treatments which make your face feel like you've just had it vacuumed. For me, walking into one of the treatment rooms is an automatic cue to relax and chill out for an hour or so. There are plenty more treatments on offer and Julie and her staff can make almost any body part look and feel attractive. Not that I've ever experienced it, but they do offer something called a Hollywood Lift that was big on Dr Phil a while back - they say it's the non-surgical equivalent of a facelift. Sounds good but a little on the scary side - I don't think I'm ready for a facelift or even facelift equivalent just yet. Facials, waxings and pedicures were once the sole domain of the girls but visit Diamond Clinic on Unley and you're going to see more than one guy visiting the salon ... and why shouldn't they! The salon itself is very clean and spacious and the music is so soothing. The microdermabrasion was fantastic, throughout the whole procedure Julie was extremely profession by guiding me through all the steps, what she was doing and in a friendly and non-pushy way she advised me of some of the products that would suit my face the best. Still, I can't complain considering my previous eyebrow wax at a Vietnamese salon ripped off 1/2 of my left eyebrow hair! I looked like a Star Trek alien..not happy then. Still, my caterpillar eyebrows needed some TLC and Shiva did a perfect job in giving me that perfect eyebrow arch. She also provides hair styling services with the typical colour, foils, streaks and perm. I enjoyed her bubbly company but most of all, I took away some of her Persian beauty secrets with me. If you're a girly girl and you like everything pink and fluffy then you're sure to be in your element inside this small salon. Don't get me wrong though, while it may be small, pink and fluffy, this place is big on technique and Tanya knows her craft. This is a great salon if you're in the market for a mani or pedi or even if you want a complete new set of nails. When it comes to spray tanning, forget the home treatments and go and see Tanya, she is a master at the spray tan. Tanning is done in complete privacy and you will be given the obligatory 'drying' time at the end of your appointment before you have to put your kit back on and head out. This is a great small business and deserves to be supported.
