She has been going to the daycare as a drop in when she was an infant and started attending daily when she was 1. She is now 3 and knows everyone's name, kids, and teachers. All the children know her name. When I go pick her up, the children say your mommy is here. The daycare is like a little family. The daycare is not just a daycare. The academy helps me continue with teaching my daughter the basics. My daughter knows how to spell her name because the 2 year old class. When we go over letters at home she will say different classmates name that begin with the letters. She sings along with the class and continues when she gets in the car to do home. I'm glad I can trust the daycare team with my toddler.

On several occasions they have closed with no/short notice on non-holidays leaving parents scrambling for care & paying twice - once to Haynes and again for emergency care. The only notice they might provide is a small notice on the wall among a lot of other postings. You will have to pay for daycare or lose money when they close on non holidays, which is becoming more frequent. They do have a monthly newsletter (that usually comes out about 10 to 14 days into the month) but other than that, they do not have a real time means of providing timely information to parents. They do not have a website, social media presence or email list for parent information. They will not provide any kind of regular feedback regarding how your child is doing or how your child is progressing, even though parents have requested it. Your child may learn a little when he moves to an older class but he stagnates during the school year because younger children are moved into his class & the class goes back to the material for the younger children instead of taking steps to ensure the older children in the class continue to progress. They seem to be overcrowded. The before and after care and the drop ins seem to take their numbers to more than they can handle. Stop by in the mornings and you will see children of all ages - 2 through school age - mixing together in a chaotic environment with minimal supervision or in the evenings they may be watching TV on a screen the size of a 20 inch computer screen. Some classes share a room separated by a few blocks. It is a lot of children in a small space. The friendliness and kindness of the staff & the way they teach the other children to be friendly towards each other & greet each other warmly mean that your child will enjoy this place but as a parent, the failure to regularly communicate might leave you frustrated, as a general matter & with concerns that your child is not being taught to his potential because of the lack of communication and feedback & the failure/inability to manage the progress of each child as younger children enter the classes.

Once Ms. Sahshi came on board, things went to an even better place. She is such a great director. My son loved his teachers: Ms. Fereshteh and Ms. Erica. There's another teacher he absolutely adores, but I forgot her name. I watch them clean the toys daily. They take the kids out and they get plenty of exercise. The teachers really treat the kids like their own. It's a personal experience. I've also had parties their and the school is very accommodating. All the teachers really teach the kids. My son was so far advanced when he entered Pre-K because of his teachers at Childway.

My son did not learn basic numbers or alphabets in spanish,or much else. The center is also located in a professional building. My son had some behavioral challenges his second year there. He was fine the first year. I believe the owner was more focused on the noise level and the "image" of the school. I removed my son and placed him in a small bilingual center. He learned spanish numbers, colors and alphabet within about two months. His current teacher does not have any issues with his behavior and he loves school. Arco staff was friendly and professional, however I am not confident that they are up for the challenges of bilingual education of young children.

The manager has a pleasant and optimistic demeanor, as does the assistant manager. We liked the information sheet idea, so we could clearly communicate the daily situation. The staff usually just put "She had a wonderful day! :-) " however, and it was hard to understand exactly what transpired, or why every day was so wonderful (like N. Korea!). Although well appointed with colorful and safe play furniture, the facility is badly in need of a deep cleaning. As you enter, the vestibule walls are smeared with what seems like years of residue from very young hands. The entry system is confusing and arbitrary: we were given a code to use until our personal code was ready, but we were never given the 2nd code, so we continued using the first one. There were supposed to be sign in sheets for each parent, but it took two weeks for that to be prepared. The sign-in system is entirely voluntary, which seems to be a liability issue for both parent and school! Often, upon entry, there was no one manning the front office. The staff was highly fluid even in the two months and our baby had no fewer than 5 different staff during that time, most of which seemed to be transferred or quit shortly after they worked in the place. A few annoying things we disliked included that staff often peeked out of the front window to see what parent was about to enter. Also, the infant room was divided into two sides, and our baby was often not visible through the room window. Infants were allowed to crawl away from the carpeted areas and on to the linoleum floor and this was not safe, nor were the three wooden rocking chairs, which were a danger to falling toddlers. Finally, it took a good month for our account to be set up so we could pay on line; this seemed to be a company-wide issue, however.

Kierra also was totally flexible with our work schedules and nights we would get stuck in traffic on the way there. Located in a great neighborhood in Lanham, Md. it's very convenient to Route 495 and 50. My commute everyday was a half hour from Annapolis but it was well worth the drive to know my daughter would be taken care of. Truly one of the saddest days I can remember in a long time when Lily left here to go to Celebree earlier this year.

She also learned polite manners and how to interact with others. Kierra uses the Brightwheel app and we loved seeing photos of our daughter during the day to see what she was up to. It was also easy to send messages or let her know if we were going to be early or late. The app also made it easy to pay her weekly. Our daughter always looked forward to going to "school" every day and sometimes we couldn't get her to leave! I'm a 23 year old single, working mom of two under two, so I can definitely get irritable with new people and I am very particular about my children. I ALMOST did not continue care because of a tad bit of miscommunication but I thank God himself that one of the teachers chased me out to explain everything to me. The directors were very accountable and were/are very understanding when it came to my reaction. 2. My eldest daughter went through a rough transition into daycare. (We literally have been inseparable since the day I met her) We have been to 5 different daycares solely because she was not adjusting to not being at home with me. The first two weeks were very hard; from the tantrums every morning. Ms. Rosa and Ms. Marcella were so patient with her and ME! My baby runs into the building to anyone who opens that door. 3. I am not used to packing lunches and I would feel bad about whether I was doing it right. Ms. Erica and Ms. Ichi gave me so much advice and reassurance about packing lunch with a picky eater. They helped me through my daughter's lactose intolerant issues and were very understanding and reassuring about babies eating habits. Now my kids are well on schedule and I don't have that mommy insecurity anymore. 4. SUPER SHOUTOUT TO MS.ALMAYA She is nurturing, sweet, caring, gentle, grace-handling teacher I've ever met. This is the first person I have ever seen my oldest run to, to be consoled. MY daughter will NOT let anyone do her hair. But don't let Ms. Almaya be in that room, these babies be sitting down perfectly for her. She has a soft spot for every single one of these children and you can feel her glow as soon as she spots one of her students. Evangel Christian Child Care Center did their big one hiring her. My preemie daughter who was supposed to go into an under developed program is now on track with all her milestones, has successfully transitioned onto formula (with the patience of Ms. Marsella and Ms. Rosa) and Lord knows I struggled getting my exclusive breast fed baby on a bottle in general. My daughter is crawling and trying to stand up all within 2 weeks at 8 months and she wasn't even sitting up last month. I don't know where ECCCC are finding these teachers, but if they are coming out the same pot for the grade schools, this generation of babies, toddlers, and children are going to be extraordinary. 6. Don't get me started about these children... the manners these toddler boys are learning first of all... everyday I come in its always a child waiting for all the 5:45pm moms to arrive to hold the door open for us. While mom/dad is saying "okay this is the last person, no more holding the door." The friendships and bonds these children are making.. I can not even express the pain in my cheeks after Ms.Wendy asked me if my eldest was a good big sister because she caters to the other children and then not even a minute later, I am watching 6 children run out the room and yelling my daughter's name in baby jibber. I see children walking into the school and introducing my child by name to their parents. I got into my car and almost cried because of the struggle I had finding a perfect daycare and the fear that my child would struggle with being social.. just to see that my children are radiating happiness whenever I say lets go to school, when they get to school, and when they see their teachers. The struggle I have getting my toddler out the building is absolutely insane. 7. You know you have a good daycare when you have a lobby full of parents joking and laughing after working. I would've never thought babies and children would recognize me as I'm coming to pick mine up.. never in a million years. Seeing under 1s recognize other parents of under 1s is so telling. The Apugos are so amazing, I count the hours down because I am always excited to see the staff and families. They have truly impacted me and my motherhood journey.

A spot opened a week after I paid my deposit to hold his space which was over a month before camp was set to begin. These people cashed my check within two days after received and said they would not return my deposit. I think the director should have made an exception but would not. Apparently they must have a cash flow issue if they felt they needed to keep my deposit. For that the business won't be blessed or full. My child is happy and having fun at his former preschool. 260 a week for summer camp is a rip off.
