Dr Gatson is the sweetest, most compassionate and knowledgeable physician I have ever used, and she…read morehas been my primary physician for over a decade. I can't ever remember a time when she was out of the office, even though it is expected on occasion as she is human. What I like most about Dr Gatson is how she sits down and truly listens, even though she may be typing on her laptop during our conversation. I understand that. Otherwise, she may forget some of the details of our conversation. She is a great diagnostician, but never fails to refer you out to a specialist if necessary. The medications she has prescribed to me seem on point. I've never had ANY complaints against this physician. EVER. I wouldn't hesitate to refer any of my family and friends to Dr Gatson. As far as I am concerned, she ranks as one of the very best. Oh... I almost forgot to add... this may be important to those who only have a limited time to see the doctor. You might have somewhat of a long wait to get called back to an exam room. And then another wait in the exam room. This wait does not bother me, as I know she is only spending one on one time with her other patients and to me, that is what it's all about. Because then I know I'm going to get that same thorough attention. I always clear my morning or afternoon when I have an appointment with Dr April Gatson. And lastly, but certainly not least, her nurse, Daisy, is sweet and takes good care of me. So if you are looking for a thorough, compassionate, accommodating, attentive and delightful family physician, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr April Gatson.

I recently moved to Texas after being with the same doctor in Florida for seven years. I had all of my medical records transferred, including my history with anxiety, panic disorder, depression, and severe sleep issues. Over the past year, I have gone through significant life events, including the loss of both parents and a divorce, making consistent and reliable care especially important. From the beginning, communication with this office has been difficult. I have called numerous times seeking assistance and often felt dismissed. When I asked if the doctor could return my call, I was told she "doesn't usually call patients back," which was discouraging given my situation. There have also been ongoing issues with my medications. Initially, I was only prescribed my antidepressant despite providing my full medical history. At one point, I lost my antidepressant and contacted the office to request a refill in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms. I was told by staff that Lexapro is a controlled substance and could not be refilled, which is untrue. Overall, the level of support and clarity provided has been inconsistent. I understand that policies and regulations exist, and I am willing to follow appropriate steps. However, the lack of communication and professionalism has made it difficult to receive proper care. I will be seeking care elsewhere. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in communication, staff training, and patient support--especially for those managing serious mental health conditions.

I ran out of my BP medicine Losartan and she would not order it. She said, "I will not reorder because I did not prescribe you this." I cannot believe she would not refill my BP medicine that I have been taking for years. So, back looking for a new primary care physician and this time...an MD. They can reorder my medicine. If you are 70 years old...make sure the person you see can order your medicine.

Apparently they added a new express care clinic to this office so I had to wait in line 5 minutes just to get checked in. I waited an additional 30 minutes to be called back and then the dr only saw me for 5 minutes. She ordered a chest X-ray and said I had pneumonia. I had no symptoms of pneumonia except the chest pain. I'm no doctor but I can tell you that it was not pneumonia. She prescribed a Z-pack before even knowing what i had ( which by the way cnn had just released an article saying how deadly they can be and how they cause irregular heart rhythms). I got the X-ray done at 11:30am and was told by the dr that she would call me in the afternoon. I never heard back from her. When I got home from work that night I had to go to the er because the pain was so bad. They did the X-ray and told me that there was no way it could be pneumonia. I will never be going back to this doctors office. It was a waste of time and money only to be told it was something that I clearly didn't have. The doctors are overworked and rush their patients so they can get to the next patient.

They said I…read morecould make an appointment at the kilgore office but when it came down to it they said it must be at the Longview office. So just to get in I agreed to the Longview office for the first time since it was required. I finally had an appointment that took over a month to make because I had to get the paperwork and over the phone nonsense finished before the appointment could be made. There were multiple text messages and emails confirming the made appointment. Then as I'm on my way to the appointment (which I had to take off work to do!) the office calls me and says the provider I would be seeing isn't going to be in today! They called less than an hour from the time of the appointment to call and reschedule! I asked if there was anyone else I could see since I had to take off work to do this and all they said was no. There was no reason as to why the provider wasn't going to be there so for all I know they could have made me a useless appointment during the vacation time of this provider! I won't be going back since there are plenty of other places to choose from. This office is so unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend going here if you have other responsibilities because they sure don't care if you had to take off work to be at the appointment!

My surprise this staff was absolutely friendly & helpful from the check-in staff all the way to the doctors. Had concerns for the patient and explain everything along the way for us to understand. Even the freaking security guard was friendly & useful and that usually never happens at any hospital I've ever been to!!!! My biggest surprise was that I was not stuck in the ER for hours like I was at the other hospital here in Longview.

I reported negligent care that African Americans received. I reported water too cold to kill germs for hand washing. Water too cold in most rooms for patients to shower. A certain population of patients that stayed tied in restraints for over 10 hours at a time. I reported this to the charge nurse that's verbally abusive to me and she retaliated along with management saying that I was not completing my work. I also reported a prejudice worker in particular that did not turn or change black patients nor Hispanics at all unless asked several times and then I would go ahead and do it myself to prevent pressure ulcers that did occur in one African American male that couldn't turn himself nor change his diaper himself. I began experiencing my assignments changed to help other nurses have an easier assignment by a certain charge nurse. I and everyone there saw a certain RN asleep at the nurse's desk for 40 minutes or more with no one monitoring and meeting his patients' needs. I have been a great nurse for over 30 years and am not afraid to speak up for injustice. I have a conscience is what I was told by management when I first reported the substandard of care that a certain population of black patients received. I hope that HR and the ethics committee will communicate with me like a professional business because I was fed a bunch of lies with no evidence about my work. We worked short handed but was expected to get off on time with all of the responsibilities done and completed. I was in a hostile work environment. I no longer trusted the manager of the floor nor the one verbally abusive night charge nurse to talk to alone and asked a representative from HR to be present. That representative was not knowledgeable at all by asking me to just pick up dirty soiled linen and diapers that was thrown on the floor by a PCT that did this on a regular basis. I could go on and on. I had just reached my 6 months mark to transfer to another department and the manager was aware of this. She very unprofessionally called me over the phone on May 28,2026 at 4 pm to separate my employment with the hospital when she saw me that morning when I got off and the day before, she had a floor meeting and saw me. I filed a grievance and is waiting to hear back from several departments, including the CEO about the wrongful termination and hostile workplace.
