This company took advantage of a young man a consider a "son". The Ford he purchased has had nothing but problems - at 7700.00 and counting. You sold him a 3400.00 extended warranty that covers nothing. The truck was sold to him altered from the original factory specs so the warranty company would not cover the initial repair of 5500.00. You refused to help him or back the product you sold. It is back in the shop yet again for another 2200.00 worth of work. Everyone was so friendly! We had a pre approval ready to go but when it came down to the purchase it had changed some of the restrictions and we weren't aware of it. They helped us get new financing that worked out much better anyways. Came to look at a vehicle. It says open from 10am to 6pm. Its 11:46am and no one here. Very unprofessional. I spoke to Trish she was very apologetic and understood the unprofessionalism so she asked if she could bring the car to me so that I can check it out and test drive. I agreed and thought it was a nice gesture and opensource might be redeeming themselves until Kurt called. Kurt explained how his business had been left unattended. Between sick kids, family in the hospital and 2nd jobs the dealership was left with no one to run it. He wanted to know what he could do to help. I told him about my meeting with Trish and at this point there was nothing he can do. At this point he changed his tone of voice and told me that if I didnt take off my review that she wouldnt bring me the car. That Trish works for him and she wouldnt take me the car. I told him that I didnt lie in my review. He argued over me yelled for me not to write another review and hung up. So RUDE. All he cared about was his review he didnt once stop to think about my 40 min that I wasted outside his business waiting for someone to show up. My intention was to rewrite my review after I test drove the vehicle at my meeting with trish. But Kurt was desperate and preffered to push a potential costumer away than to get a bad review. BUYER BEWARE: We bought a truck from this dealer May 2018 & were under the impression we had a warranty as it was listed in our paperwork. Only 6 months after having the truck the rear end went out. We contacted the warranty company only to find out we did not have a warranty even though we had paid for one. Upon contacting the dealership he made a deal with a local mechanic to put a USED rear end in the truck so that the warranty could be issued. Here we are barely 11 months from the date the purchase & the transmission is out-- the warranty company is only willing to pay for a used transmission from the junkyard. They lied and told me they put a brand new thermostat on my car which was a f### lie... They used cillant and tricked me... I was not terribly thrilled with the experience to begin with. I waited in the lobby for a couple hours while the only salesman on site assisted other customers who arrived after I did. He had to call in the owner to assist him. The owner showed up with his girlfriend in tow and obviously didn't want to be there. I left at about 2pm on Saturday with a $100 deposit on the vehicle which I wasn't even excited about. It had a lot of heavy duty towing parts installed like a goose-neck hitch and power brakes which were not listed in the ad. I didn't want a hard used vehicle. I even suggested to the salesman and owner that they should probably contact another customer who called about the truck earlier while i was in the office. A truck at another dealership I was interested in became available again as the purchaser could not get financed so I jumped on the oportunity and emailed Open Source Autos only a few (3-4) hours after leaving their dealership and thanked them for the oportunity but that I had decided to purchase another vehicle. I received an email Monday morning that they were still going to charge me the $100 for holding it the last couple hours of the day on Saturday even though I notified them emediately of the situation. I was not happy with the service, or the condition of the vehicle. The truck was filthy, had peanuts and misc. other junk on the back floorboard and had to be jump started and all four tires had to have air put in them before I could even drive it. I was hoping they would be understanding and not charge me the $100 deposit, which by the way, I taked them down from $500 deposit...thank god. read more

Bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara from Chris about a month ago and couldn't be happier. He fixed a couple things that he didn't have to and was really flexible to work with in terms of scheduling our test drive and followup appointments. I usually don't consider small car dealers like Open Source, but since they work with USAA I gave them a try. Had read some non favorable reviews, so was a little skeptical when I inquired about a couple vehicles. Tricia was very helpful in letting me know about both their lots in Mission and Lee's Summit. Mission has a smaller lot but she informed me that if I wanted a vehicle transferred from the LS lot, which was a little bigger, there would be no issue. Met Chris at the Mission lot. He let me test drive a few trucks. Was eyeing a '12 Dodge Ram. Soon after Kurt came up. Had a good conversation with both. Was upfront with them about the negative equity in my trade in and they worked with me. Checked out some trucks at the LS lot with Tricia. Had a very good conversation with her as well. All three made the buying experience less stressful, and didn't have to hound them to pay off loan from trade in. They took care of it w/o a reminder. I am done with these guys. Would not ever recommend them to anyone. I bought a expedition from them6 weeks ago. It came with check engine light on. Was told no big deal emission problem. got it checked next day by two different places. Both said bad fuel injectors. Told them about it and they had me go to their guy in Shawnee when I live by airport. Three trips down there and same problem. Sent me to another one of their guys. Sat there for almost 4 hours why the guy tried several things. To his credit he did take it out and test drive it everytime he tried something different. Eventually came to conclusion my converter was clogged and needed replaced. When called dealer to see how they wanted bill handled. They told him I would have to pay 100 deductible and they would cover any more. I don't know if this guy didn't get something back on right or what but car ran even worse after he was done. Next they sent me to their muffler guy. This guys was very reasonable price wise as I had to pay this also. He did say it was really bad and it did need changed. Thought after all this problem would be fixed. But no than than 24 hours light was back on. Took and had checked and guess what. Fuel injectors bad. Wish I had never came across these guys. There are several other problems with car. But I can deal with them. But to spend the money I did on this car only to find out it will cost a arm and leg to get it right? I know its buyer beware. And with them anyone buying better be well aware. read more
