I took their "Under the…read moreBridges" waterway tour and I can recommend it because the only way to really see Stockholm, an area comprise of islands and waterways, is by boat. The tour I was on was basically in English, the American type of English, which the tour guide spoke so perfectly one wouldn't even know she wasn't a native of America with the possible exception of the fact that her spoken English was in fact better than that of most Americans. The boat was low immaculate clean and comfortable glass covered boat with heat which heat was invaluable as it was off season and rather cold. The tour took about 2 hours, and true to the tours name, Under the Bridges, took us under all sorts of bridges. Everything along the way was explained and I was able to see sights and obtain views that would have been impossible by land.

The seats are Small and uncomfortably even for an average sized human. It is a combination of the both tourist worlds - bus+boat at the same time, ultimate Stockholm summer experience. The owners are two brothers from Skåne. One is the captain and another one is a tour-guide. Good sense of humor, so you will have a really good mood during the tour. Do not want to spoil the experience by revealing the details, so I will just say - book it and it will be best 75 minutes and 250 SEK spent on sightseeing.

A hair longer than two hours in a large figure eight around the city took us out and back and then out and back, under dozens of bridges. All the while, a narrator (through wired earphones) pointing out the history of the city, the significance of the bridges and in the breaks, some classical music. Important sights along the way were also part of the narration. The barge we were on was not at all crowded so we did not have to rub elbows with strangers. There is a small concession stand that thankfully had beer and wine (one type of each). There is also a single restroom that I did not need. In August, there are usually a few stages with live music as part of the Stockholms Kulturfestival (http://kulturfestivalen.stockholm.se/ ). It's really worth checking out the festival program, if you're in Stockholm at that time. During the year, there are also many other events, so you should not be surprised if you go there and something is going on. When it's suny, Kungsträdgården is a great place to enjoy the sun. There are many benches around, and also a kind of fountain where many people hang out when the weather is nice. It's not only close to the palace, but also to the opera, Sergels torg, Östermalmstorg and other locations in central Stockholm. That also makes it a good meeting place.

You don't really get a tour guide on this boat to tell you fun facts about the things you see, you basically just sit and ride the boat. The seats are limited so you must get there early for a good seat. The main seats are not facing towards the water so you really have to turn your head if you want to get a good look outside. On the good side, you get to see the beautiful estates around Stockholm and watch endless fields of trees ! If your goal is to get to the palace, you really don't have to get on this boat. The boat ride to the palace is about an hour long, it's a 15 minute drive if you decide to get to that palace. This boat comes every hour.
