Ordered an Apple Watch through Best Buy Canada Marketplace from seller "OpenBox,"December 22, 2025 thinking of was an open box from BestBuy not a 3rd party and the parcel arrived with no Apple Watch and no retail box -- only cardboard filler inside. I reported the issue immediately and provided photo and video evidence, including opening the package and bringing it to a Best Buy store the same day. The seller initially responded but then requested a serial number, which is impossible to provide since there was no product included. On January 14, they stated the request was "being reviewed by management." It is now February 16, and there has been no resolution, no timeline, and no meaningful update. read more

I bought a pair of airpods 4. They had wax in them, the wrong charging case and I couldn't factory reset. When I tried to return them, they said that I had swapped the package with another one. They are disgusting and won't refund. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

Cheap selection of large screen 3D, wifi enabled TV's and other electronics such as iDevices that have been floor samples at Costco, Futureshop, and other electronics vendors. Discounts as much as 40% and great service. Even more discount for use of cash/debit cards (keep in mind most debit cards limit daily debit purchases to $500 or $600). Unfortunately, I was not able to get a picture of the storefront itself since my iPhone thought it was people and refused to cooperate but since the place is kind of hard to find, I chose to upload a copy of the business card to show the website address and also the directions. read more

Purchased stuff here before with no problem. This time had a problem and in a rush had to purchase a replacement from a different store. Returned defective unit within 7 days.. but there was no flexibility on the owners part of providing me with a refund for the defective unit. After arguing with me, they reluctantly provided a refund but charges a 15% restocking fee. I can understand if there is nothing wrong with the product but not on a defective product. Never going to purchase anything from here again.. very poor customer service. read more

I am not sure if past reviewers are confused, but the name says it all: all items in this store are open box returned items from other stores. You get what you pay for. However, the deals here are more like steals - the prices are worth the product you are getting. I buy a new TV from here every year and always for an amazing price. The reason I did not give Openbox a 5-star rating is because their customer service is a bit spotty, sometimes you can get amazing service and other times the person working won't even care that you're there. However, I'll give up customer service for the price of their products. They also have a website: openbox.ca. It is a great way to check out the deals before heading to the store. However, the store offers even better deals on items that might have a scratch or two on it. I'm a fan and I will continue to shop here. After shopping around and trying to get the best deal on a camera my dad found Openbox. After buying his camera I decided to look in to what kind of deals I could get from anywhere. I tried CL, and many retailers, after finding no one to provide the d5200 at a better price, I got one too. The guy who helped me out was friendly and the purchase process was straight forward. You get a decent warranty, especially considering the price. After I got it home I realized there was a minor bug in my camera, it said some SD cards were locked when they weren't, I was able to test a few and in the exact same camera my dad had bought from them. I went today and exchanged the camera, showing him the issue and had it immediately replaced without hassle. I gave them five stars fire service, sometimes even new products have bus in software and hardware, it was handled professionally. I'm a comparison shopper, but openbox will always be given priority if they're providing a good deal, even if it's a bit higher in price. They've worked to earn my business. read more

The name says it all. Go here understanding what you are about to get into. The website states: "Openbox products are retail returns that are rigorously tested to ensure that factory standards and specifications are met, enabling our customers to purchase top quality products at the best prices." This is not a true statement. What is true is that these items are retail returns and they are probably the best prices you will find. However, the rigorously tested statement is false. I recently purchased a camera here. The same day I discovered it was not working correctly and they promptly and courteously allowed me to exchange it. I found this second exchanged camera to have another yet different issue! At this point I was not going to take my changes with a third camera. As I was within the 7 day return policy they refunded my money....with a 15% restocking charge. This is where the returning of items here gets interesting. They have two prices for everything.... One for cash and a slightly higher one for credit cards purchases. I had paid with my credit card I expected the credit to simply be put back onto my credit card. No, this was not to be. Not only would they not put the money back on my credit card. They would only give me a cash refund.....and the cash amount refunded was based on the cash price of the item.....not the higher credit card price that I had paid. So, not only were they going to charge me a restocking charge (which I had accepted) but they were going to give me only cash back based upon a lower price than I had actually paid. So a double hit! Now, the end of the story is that I spoke to the manager and he did give me the refund based upon the higher credit card price that I had paid. Yes, in cash. But I had to argue to get that. Also, I'm okay with restocking charges when the restocking charge is to cover the cost of the work required by the reseller to put the item back into saleable condition. In this case, both cameras that I returned were simply taken back from me and put out for immediate resale. A good way for them to make an additional 15%. I feel that not only was the restocking charge excessive in this case, but also the rigorous testing of these returned products to ensure that factory standards and specifications were met was not performed as i was there when they returned both items to the sales counter. So, purchase products here with eyes wide open understanding what you are getting into. Two final words: Buyer beware. read more

My wife and I bought an Apple iPad Mini 4 from Openbox.ca in Surrey just before Christmas 2017. The price was attractively less by a considerable margin than even the Apple Refurbished product website price. We were told by the Openbox.ca salesperson that it was actually a new unopened item that had been returned to the original seller (Costco, maybe?). Perhaps it was given as a gift and the recipient wanted a larger iPad, who knows? Anyhow we were told that it would have the balance of the Apple 1-year limited warranty plus the Openbox.ca 1-year warranty. The salesman thought that it probably would NOT be eligible for the purchase of the Applecare 2-year warranty extension from Apple. When we opened it up on Christmas day it did, indeed, appear to be an new and unopened iPad Mini 4. Early in January 2018, we contacted Apple to see about registration, confirmation of remaining period of limited warranty, and eligibility for Applecare. Based on the serial number the support staff initially said that the original limited warranty had expired. We explained to the support person how and where we had bought the iPad Mini 4. The support staff asked us for the date of purchase (as per our receipt) then put us on hold for some time to check with a supervisor. Apple came back with good news. Apple considers the product to have been sold to us effective December 25, 2017 and confirms that the original 1-year limited warranty is valid until next Christmas! Moreover, the iPad is also eligible for Applecare, provided we purchase it within 60 days of December 25, 2017. So, I can affirm that Openbox.ca honestly represented what they sold to us -and was even conservative insofar as they hesitated to say that the item would be eligible for an extended Apple warranty -even though it proved to be so elibigle. All in all, a good, and economical, shopping experience. read more

How about at least 1/3 off full pop retail....my brother and I just bought 2 iPad pros....10.5 " 256 gigs...$750 C $'s ...wow..and if you any challenged at all ask to speak to Will, one of their managers....he is superb and we bought because of him and how comfortable he made us feel reaching into, which for us , was the unknown. I purchased a TV from their Marine Dr. Vancouver location and I'm very pleased with the quality and the service that I received. We had concerns being that this place sold 'Open Box' electronics which I assumed to be refurbished or damaged goods, however, when we got to the store, they assured us that they only sold returns from Costco, and nothing was refurbished (they don't deal with those). The TV itself was flawless (we inspected it twice; once in store and again when delivered) and I couldn't tell that it was returned at all. It was $500 off retail price which knocked it down to $2000 which is a pretty damn good deal. I was originally hoping to pack the TV up in my car but realized quickly that it wouldn't fit. Jin let me keep the TV there for a week and offered a really good deal for delivery. He ended up delivering the set AND he wall-mounted both my TV and a sound bar that I got from Best Buy on a brick wall which is not easy to do. All in all I'm really happy with the whole experience and don't let the 'open box' name fool you. At the very least go check it out and inspect their inventory for yourself. Amazing deals. read more

I called to ask if they had a computer in stock, but they said I'll need to come to the store to find out. Two great experiences. Last year I bought a Plasma TV, which came with a 1 year warranty. I opted for the 2 year. The TV crapped out, I phoned them and they said bring it down for a trade up /down or your money back. I ended up trading up and they started the 2 year warranty over from the day I picked up my new TV. Well above and beyond the service I would expect from the big box bunch. My experience could not have been any better, service was friendly and efficient despite how busy they were. Incredibly impressed. This is Vancouver location which I'm going to be talking about. Be very careful when you shop at the open box. Just know everything you buy there is used. With scuffs, dent and scratches. I bought an iPad and when I got home and open it, it had a scratch right in the middle of the screen. I called. No answer. Emailed the customer support. No reply... I called the main store in Surrey they told me to talk to the sales person at the Vancouver location. So I went back to see if I could get one without an scratch. The guy and the lady behind the cash told me that I might be the one that made the scratch and wouldn't be fair to the person that buys this iPad and so they can't exchange it. Also they told me that it's perfectly fine for normal use and it's not a problem at all. Come on!!!! I don't want an iPad with scratches in the screen after spending $340. read more

You can get the same or better product new in the box for the same price or less if you shop a bit, elsewhere.

STick to bestbuy or other stores badly packed broke glass screen on sony LED due to mount not disabled. Got a store credit from them and then it was rejected when I tried to use it ? If you are going to OPENBOX stick to their main stores do not go to Top Tech reseller. Good Luck. read more

We bought a Samsung curved 4K T.V from Openbox Surrey on April 4 of this year. In less than three months the T.V had an internal crack inside the LCD screen. We went back to Openbox feeling already uneasy, that they may find any excuse not to exchange it, because it isn't a large department store like Coscto or Best Buy but we went in and expressed our concerns openly and they explained that we must take the T.V to an authorized dealer which they provided (of course). Once we arrived at the dealer, they claimed the internal scratch was the buyers fault and Openbox was not liable. We were so upset because we were told we had a one year warranty at Openbox yet they treated us with no compassion and gave us the run around. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM OPENBOX unless you want to waste your money. Spend a couple extra bucks and go to a dependable department store. I FELT LIKE I WAS I WAS IN SOME KIND OF SCAM. Lost 900.00 dollars. A lesson well learned. read more
