My fiancé and I were super lucky to get the chance to work with OpenGlass Studio. Because of our hectic schedules, I was worried that our calendars wouldn't align...but a las, Arvin cleared out a Saturday in April for us and our Save the Date shoot was booked!!! My fiancé and I had a few ideas for the general feel of the video, but we weren't entirely sure how to turn it into a story. We gave a few details to Arvin, and his team came up with a timeline / storyboard in no time. After a few days of email correspondence, we came up with a final script that we were happy with...all thanks to OpenGlass's creativity & attention-to-detail :) The day of the shoot came, and the 3-man crew was prompt and super efficient. They gave us a rundown on the order of the shots, outfit changes, and location changes. When we were in front of the camera, they gave clear direction and instructions on how to act; making us feel completely at ease. My fiancé and I definitely had a great time acting out and being silly. OpenGlass Studio definitely captured the essence of us; nothing overly-sweet, overly-done, nor overly-dramatized. One of my favorite things to do is sit down with my husband & watch the wonderful wedding video Arvin and his team put together for us. Arvin was our videographer for our wedding, and his beautiful wife Christine was my matron of honor! It was such a treat to have both of them play a big role in our wedding. When my husband and I first considered a videographer, I showed him Arvin and Christine's honeymoon cross-country camping video and said, this is what I want. Arvin's beautiful storytelling hooked me, and his creative perspective allowed both of us to feel comfortable hiring him to shoot our big day. I had this preconceived notion that video is a relatively easy thing to do. You just find the frame and shoot; the creativity comes afterwards with editing and executing a vision. Watching Arvin work has taught me otherwise. He's so thoughtful about shooting different perspectives such as time lapses and angles, high and low views. My parents commented that they have never seen anyone work so hard, literally running around the dance floor with heavy equipment, but the result speaks for itself. My husband and I gave Arvin full range of creativity to do what he does best. When working with creatives, I often find that allowing freedom of expression yields the best result. I remember him telling me that he found the perfect song and was playing it on repeat a few months prior to the wedding. I get inspired by his inspiration and excitement; it'd be hard to dampen that and try to provide direction. In this case, I could have never imagined how great our video would turn out. It was incredible and still brings tears to my eyes when I watch. The only snafu was that the camera bugged out during my first dance with my dad. It was a bummer, but he told me as soon as he reviewed the footage and I appreciated his honesty and sincerity. Luckily, we got tons of great photos as well. I have since witnessed Arvin shoot a handful of weddings, and each product is extremely unique. I love that he gets to know the couples and captures their own essence. We received a huge drive of all the raw footage, a 1 min teaser right after our wedding, a trailer, and the full length was about 13 min. Video gets pushed to the bottom of the wedding budget, but ask anyone who has one, it's our favorite piece of memorabilia from that day. Nothing else quite captures the feels like a video. Had the chance to work with Arvin and his crew for an engagement video for me soon to be bride. We gave them a rough idea of what we wanted to do, (a food fight themed video) and he took the idea and ran with it! In a few days time, he had the whole video planned out as a series of short vignettes, along with suggestions for props, and backdrops for the shoot. The team came over early with all their equipment, were very friendly and professional, and we got through the day with minimal effort and had a lot of fun doing it! My wife and I interviewed a number of videographers over the phone since we lived in Philadelphia and our wedding was in LA. I could tell right away that Arvin knew what we were looking for and had the right artistic vision to deliver an inspirational final product. Without ever meeting Arvin in person my wife and I felt comfortable working with him. On our wedding day Arvin and his team arrived on time and were as efficient as one would hope for on a day that can be very stressful for the the bride and groom. The entire set was natural and beautiful. My husband and I remembered the morning of the ceremony in a blur but after seeing the photos, all of the feelings came back, this time in full color. It really does help to see things from an outside perspective and it takes an enormous amount of trust in the person capturing those moments for you to do them justice. Anyone and everyone who has seen the photos he put together has been beyond impressed. I am immensely thankful to Arvin for his talents and his ease. I would refer them to anyone looking for talent, to lay it in the hands of Arvin and not only capture a meaningful moment but to create beautiful memories. Arvin whisked us away between plates during dinner so he could catch the sunset--these are some of my favorite pics from the entire wedding. He's very, very thoughtful about getting the right shots in while still being respectful of our limited time to enjoy the day. He even came up to the jungle in Mexico and scouted very fast the location working since 5am to past 12pm--that's full service, right there Arvin sent the digital files about 2-weeks after my wedding. Beware! While Arvin is a talented videographer with a polite demeanor, his contract protects his interests and only his interests. There is no cancellation policy. He requires a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. Life always has unforeseen circumstances beyond your control which may regrettably necessitate a cancellation. No matter what your circumstance, he will be heartless in his claim to your entire deposit. No matter how much advance notice of cancellation you may give (I gave 83 days) he will make no attempt to rebook your vacancy in order to mitigate his said damages ... which he will maintain are a "tremendous business loss for the month of ..." . Keep in mind, we are only considering a loss of 7 hours of work, not a month. Arvin is consistently booked out several months in advance. He could undoubtedly fill your vacancy and end up getting double pay for those 7 hours you reserved or take a holiday on your deposit. In legal jargon they call this UNJUST ENRICHMENT. If you think you are justified in challenging the legality of the Open Glass NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee you are, "Courts have consistently ruled that money paid to cover advance fees for the performance of a service are not actually earned until the service is performed"(Refer to: Why the Non-Refunable Deposit Is A Myth). Arvin's contractual intent - protecting himself - appears to be meaningless unless the contract specifically states that the deposit is paid in order to compensate him for his potential loss of work should you cancel. This is what is referred to as a Liquidated Damage Clause. The Open Glass contract has no cancellation policy or Liquidated Damage Clause, so his claim to your deposit is questionable. Should you find yourself in this untenable position, I strongly suggest that you challenge his claim. But be prepared to have his lawyer threaten to file a suit for declaratory judgement against you, collect its attorney's fees, costs of court, and any and all other relief. Don't be dissuaded. A small claims suit costs $50 to file and attorneys are not allowed. The Open Glass contract also requires that payment in full to be paid after the filming ... 4 months before the final video is delivered to you. Judging by Arvin's position on the return of my deposit I would caution agreeing to these conditions. Paying Open Glass in-full 4 months prior to delivery of your video exposes you to unforeseen risks should Arvin be unable to deliver and will leave you with no recourse other than a law suit. That being said I wish Arvin / Open Glass and you success. I believe Arvin his an intent to enrich people's lives through his videos. It is most unfortunate that his contractual agreement protects only his interests should the unforeseen happen. It would be a far better world if business was not predatory in nature and could equally protect the interests of all parties so that everyone could benefit from it's existence. read more

There is only one word to describe Arvin and Christine from OpenGlass...EXCEPTIONAL!!! We hired OpenGlass for our wedding based on seeing only 1 of their past wedding videos. That is all it took to know we had to have them! It was so easy to finalize the contract and Arvin took the extra time to have multiple phone conversations about our wedding vision, our background as a couple, and what we wanted to get out of the video. That extra effort made all the difference in our final product. The day of the wedding Arvin and his wife arrived early and hit the ground running on filming. They were so upbeat during the entire day which was amazing. They were also so stealth in their filming that we didn't even notice they were there! And can we talk about the drone they brought?!? It captured incredible aerial shots on our video...breathtaking!!! Now that we have our finished product we are just so overwhelmed with how beautiful, heartwarming, and emotional it is! It captured our day perfectly and we have probably watched it 50+ times because it is so beautiful. We have shared it with all our family and friends who agree it is the best wedding video they've seen...strangers have even cried watching it, it is that good! We would recommend Arvin and OpenGlass to anyone and everyone. It would be a big mistake not to choose them as your wedding videographer! Arvin and his wife Christine were the videographers at our wedding in January at St. Brigid Church (mass) and Scripps Seaside Forum (reception). Working with Arvin was a fantastic experience from start finish. He was highly responsive in our communications leading up to our wedding and I felt very confident going into the day. Arvin and Christine both have a very calming demeanor that made working with them throughout our wedding day so enjoyable and stress free. They were respectful of the stipulations at the church, of our time and were professional and hard working in every sense of the way. They kept out of site during the important moments like our vows, the first kiss, the speeches during our reception, etc. and still managed to capture everything! When the day ended I said to Ryan (my husband) - I don't even care how the video turns out, I absolutely loved having them here and working with them! He agreed!
