I've been here 3x, so I wanted to rate them afterwards to get a broader range, rather than just one visit. Attentive and professional cafe from practitioners BUT the office staff isn't really great at people facing roles, from there person answering the phone to the office manager. They do everything from eye exams, to removing foreign bodies from eyes, to cosmetic procedures. Waiting room is well lit and spacious. read more

The eye doctors are wonderful! However, the Optical Department is rude, unprofessional and customer service is terrible. The Optical Department called my home at 5 AM in the morning waking us all up and when I called to alert them of this incident there was no apology. I did speak with the office manager who was very apologetic and helpful. I would not recommend using the optical department for glasses! read more

I'm sorry if this sounds mean or critical but I usually go to BuxMont Eyecare and wanted a second opinion, the doctor (his name is Schwartz) argued with me the whole time I was there. One of the worst experiences I have had at a doctor's office. He actually stood up and gave me the ultimatum "to just let me know what it is I want to do" and walked out of the examining room. The woman up front at the sign in was ok but the doctor was just arrogant. I do not recommend the office. Plus, it was a long drive. Again, I am not trying to be critical but I am still a paying customer, and you do not argue with the customer! read more

Unfortunately This practice used to be better 10 years ago. You wait forever for someone to answer the phone. The front desk is not happy. I've seen two doctors and one male was extremely rude. I switched to a female who initially was responsive but the last two visits was seemed annoyed by questions. The portal is inaccessible. It says call customer service for assistance but no number listed when the access denied message is displayed and I don't have the patience to wait on hold for help. Save your time and go somewhere else. read more

Doctors are very rude. Keep you waiting long periods of time and dismiss you as quickly as possible. I have seen several of doctors there thinking I would give them all a chance and the male doctors are all rude and barely speak to you. When asking a question, they make you feel timid to even ask the question and give short answers barely answering question. I am now going to try and find new eye doctors for I do not feel I should be treated disrespectfully. It's unfortunate since it's so close to my house. Maybe they should hire some female doctors who usually have a better bedside manner. read more

Just had my cataract surgery and received excellent care. The surgical team were wonderful, treated me like a real thinking person. You can tell they love their work. Dr. O'Connor answered all my questions with patience and good humor. They all turned what might have been a frightening experience into one that left me feeling cared for. Dealing with Dr. Schwartz is a nightmare. I tried to tell him before he started my cataract surgery, I recently had 2 disks removed from my neck and had spacers put in. When I tried to speak he yelled at me and said "Don't talk, you may not speak." He kept pushing on my head and it caused me to jump in pain. He screamed at me, "I told you NOT TO MOVE. DON'T MOVE." The jump was a reflex action to the sudden jolt of pain. There were other instances of his bullying I won't get into. On the follow up visit I told him he needed "Sensitivity" training. He said I was "over reacting." He is good as a surgeon, but he is arrogant, self-serving, and loves to belittle people, especially when he has an audience. I heard him berate a nurse with a whole waiting room of people - not very becoming or professional of Dr. Schwartz. read more

Run away. Do not come to this practice. The docs may be nice but the staff is incompetent. The billing experience makes no sense. The person who does their billing does not have basic math skills. The "manager" starts every sentence with the word "unfortunately..." in a drawn-out way where each syllable is so overly enunciated that it takes about 10 seconds to finish the word. Un-fooor-tuuun-aaate-lyyy repeating that word does not address any of the underlying billing mistakes. They cannot send an itemized statement (you can drive there to pick it up, as they do not have email). read more

I had cataract surgery and from the start to finish, she took her time explained everything and even after surgery gave her personal cell phone number if there was a problem, what doctor do you know does that! I have always liked Ophthalmic Associates until today. When I was leaving there was a line so I walked to the front desk to tell the receptionist I had paid before my appt. and would it be ok if I just left. She got all nasty and treated me like I was a child. "No, you get back in line. You must check out". So, I did get back in line, very upset I might ad. When it was my turn she said, "we will call you in 2 yrs". I said and thats what I had to wait for? She got nasty again. She is in the wrong job. She is not a people person! read more

Dr. GEOFFREY SCHWARTZ WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! So my wife was having some issues with her eye and needed an appointment same day. We usually see another doctor in this practice for yearly exams and she is excellent. However, since this was a rush appointment, she saw Dr. Geoffrey Schwartz. Most times when seeing doctors they wash their hands when they come into the exam room which from a patient's viewpoint makes you feel at ease and protected. When Dr. Schwartz came in and didn't wash his hands in front of her so she asked him very politely to wash his hands. He said he already washed his hands. Whether he did wash them or not she simply asked him to wash them in her exam room since he would be touching around her eyes and would feel more comfortable. The response from Dr. Schwartz was SO UNPROFESSIONAL! He said he would not wash his hands, quickly stood up which made his rolling chair spin across the room, and said I'm not going to treat you and abruptly left the exam room. I saw this firsthand as I was in the exam room too. We looked at each other in amazement and said I guess he's not going to see you. When we went to the front desk my wife was visibly shaken and we told the front desk receptionist that the doctor would not see her and asked her to cancel this visit. Just then Dr. Schwartz came to the front desk and said he would see her but didn't liked being questioned whether he washed his hands or not. At this point I pointed out to him even if he did wash his hands prior to coming into the exam room he touched both the patient chart which the assistant had handled and he touched the door knob when he shut the door as he came into the exam room. He didn't have any response to that logic. I also pointed out that his office still requires everyone to wear a face mask for protection so asking him to wash his hands when in the exam room was just as reasonable a protection practice as wearing a face mask. So we finally did go back to the exam room where he started again with he washes his hands all the time. At this point I wanted to blast him out but I wanted to have my wife's eye looked at so I got up and went to the waiting area. At no time did Dr. SCHWARTZ ever apologize for his UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE behavior. This doctor needs to put the needs of Patients first and not feel they are above reproach or questioning. We would not recommend Dr. Schwartz to anyone. read more

I don't know what is going on here but apparently my wife did not read the reviews... she has never come home crying of dentist, doctor, or any service until this place. Said the Dr. was very rude and never said a word as he is poking, prying. Then she gets handed a big bill and no explanation. Doctor Sieber is an amazing doctor who was not only attentive and caring, she was also very professional, knowledgeable and experienced. I was seeing her for about two months very frequently and feel lucky to have been under her care and to have recovered far better than I expected. She answered all of my questions in a way that I could understand, educated me on the process of my eye healing and even explained what I can expect in the future with my eyes based on my current situation. Dr. Thomas J. O'Connor is great. Very focused on root cause resolution... no marketing gimmicks to unnecessarily prescribe more tests or specialist referrals. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I never post anything on yelp yet this office has pushed me for the last time. All front desk staff is terribly rude. They put me on hold for 10 mins (after I explained that it was an emergency) and the call disconnected. I called back and they blamed me!! And gave me a hard time for "hanging up". I calmly explained that I didn't hang up and the woman ignored me. After my visit today I asked another woman to forward my prescription to CVS. She gave me a very hard time but said she would. She never did. Now on to the doctors. Dr. Gladnick has zero personality and does not care AT ALL about his patients. I swore him off years ago. Today I went to Dr. O'Connor for the emergency that I noted above. He's just as bad as Dr. Gladnick. Didn't care to ask any questions and was terribly rude. Told me it was my fault that my eye was inflamed. I'm sorry, what?! How about you tell me how something like this could happen and we can discuss how to prevent this in the future. NEVER EVER going back. I suggest you avoid this office at all costs. read more

If I could give a "0" I would. The front desk staff feels like the atmosphere of a disgruntled motor vehicle staff. Dr. Gladnick knowingly gave me a pair of trial lenses that did not accommodate my prescription in order to see if they were comfortable. I asked him how I was to know if they'd be comfortable if I couldn't even properly see out of them? In other words why would you even try to wear lenses from which you can't properly see? I asked if he was doing this because he didn't have to prescription I needed, he said "no, I have them...". Needless to say I had to call back to say I don't know if they're comfortable because I can't wear them long enough to find out because I can't stinking' see! He agreed to provide the proper prescription for me to try. I received a call from the office manager to come pick them up at the front desk. I go in and tell the front desk she said to pick them up there at the front desk and they send me to optical saying they don't have anything to do with lenses. Of course optical cannot find them and I return to the front desk asking to speak with Kristi, the office manager. Someone calls her and she tells them the lenses are in the desk there. I left out a lot of other times-wasting nonsense that happened. This place is a complete side show with no consideration for the patient or his/her time. Please go somewhere, anywhere else. read more

I wish I could rate higher than 5 stars for Dr. Sieber. She is one of the most intelligent, thorough and caring doctors I have ever been to (and I have been to many, having chronic health conditions my whole life). She was able to diagnose me with a very rare eye condition and provide the proper treatment for it while listening to all of my concerns and answering all questions. She truly cares about her patients as a whole person and goes above and beyond for her patients. I always feel extremely comfortable and confident in her care. Her office was always kept extremely clean, with low wait times as well. She was always easy to get in touch with if I had any questions or concerns after leaving the office. I would highly recommend Dr. Melissa Sieber for anyone who wants a highly skilled, passionate doctor who has the kindest heart as well. read more

Like Dr. Gladnick as a doctor and he's thorough but feel like he couldn't care less and just going through the motions. Front desk is HORRIBLE, clueless, and quite rude. Whoever does the scheduling should retire. Didn't mention we'd need a longer appt for contacts so we had to make another appt, which isn't easy with how busy we are. I love the pediatrician optometrist of the practice. I also find the service of the optical shop excellent. However, today I learned they had incorrectly entered my insurance information into the system resulting in me being over charged for glasses for 2 children for the past 3 years. I asked to speak to the office manager, who did apologies but then made excuse after excuse for what happen- basically insinuating that it was not their fault- and actually tried to blame it on the women who discovered the issue at the optical shop. If you go here-my advice to you is make sure they have correctly entered your insurance information and you are not being over charged. read more

I was treated by Dr. Sieber for months when she assisted with my emergency corneal transplant as well as my second transplant. She is the sweetest, most caring doctor I've ever been treated by. She truly cares about each and every one of her patients and does her best to make you feel comfortable with every visit. I'd give her more stars if I could! read more

I would not send my dog to this place. We took my 82 year old father to an appointment in terrible weather, hhis appointment was at 2:15 they got there at 2:21 and they refused to see him. They waited to be helped at the window for 2 to 3 minutes before they were acknowledged the lady at the front desk very rude to us, Stating that he was 1 minute past the 15 minute "grace" period for being late, she then proceeded to tell us his appointment was for 2:10, according to my math he was still in the time frame. Dr. Sieber under-corrected my left eye after trying to sell me (a 19-year-old) lasik or prescription swimming goggles the whole time. Before even seeing her, I was seen in two other rooms by two other technicians... it felt extremely unprofessional and as if I was just seen as a pay check. Not to mention the gentleman who helped me with my frames seemed slightly clueless (he was nice, but not very helpful). Ended up using up my benefits here and having to pay out of pocket at another optometrist's office (I was told her about the under-correction after complaining about blurriness and not being able to focus). After looking at my prescriptions for the past two years with him he showed me how the prescription I received from 1000 broad street was actually a WEAKER PRESCRIPTION?? I have been going to Opthalmic Associates for years. I recently transferred to Dr Sieber because my doctor retired. Dr Sieber is terrific. I had cataract surgery on both eyes. She was caring and thorough. All my questions were answered fully. I feel that I can call anytime and she will make sure that I have the information I need. Scheduled a diabetic eye exam, or so I thought. Apparently you have to come back for a second appointment if you want a contemporary diabetic eye exam that includes retinal imaging consistent with today's standard of care. Retinal imaging lets you see changes in the eye over time, and provides greater detail than the old school methods these folks still use. Either they don't have the equipment there, or they want to charge you for a second appointment to take this simple picture. Also reception incorrectly insisted that I needed a referral to use my major medical insurance for the exam. I don't, and they should know that - it's part of their job. read more

I have been a patient at this practice for almost 20 years. For most of those years I have been a patient of Dr. Nowinski. I recommend Dr. Nowinski. He is a caring and knowledgeable doctor. When I needed cataract surgery, Dr. Nowinski referred me to Dr. Melissa Sieber, who is also I. This practice. She explained the procedure and my options in a way that was easy to understand. She was quick to respond to any questions that I had. I had surgery on both my eyes. The surgeries went very well and were uneventful. My vision is 100% improved. I highly recommend Dr. Sieber. She is caring, thorough, very knowledgeable and has a very easy bedside manner. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. My boyfriend and I have been calling for TWO DAYS just to change his contacts to a different brand. The phone either rings and rings and no one answers, the line is busy, or you leave multiple messages that must just got to la la land because they are never returned. First time I ever needed to see an eye doctor specialist. After my visit the receptionist said I need to have a follow-up and she said there would not be a charge. Well the follow up was a waste of time it was not needed but I went anyway. A few weeks later I get a bill for the follow-up and when I called about it I was told there is nothing they can do and I should consult my insurance. They told me one thing, did another, then passed the blame. Poor business ethics never ever will I go back to this place! read more

I have always had great success with the Ophthalmic Doctors and now with the new addition of Dr. Sieber. She performed my cataract surgery with astigmatism...amazing. I have been going to Ophthalmic for about 30 years. Emergency treatment (scratched cornea) or diagnostic services (detached retina) have exceedingly been above and beyond. The reason they did not get a 5 Star (Woohoo! As good as it gets!) is that there is room for improvement at the front desk. It's tolerable because one needs to go through them in order to get to the Professionals in the back. My wife and I will continue to use Ophthalmic Associates. read more

Is good if you want a standard exam and prescription glasses. Anything else, I suggest go somewhere else. - Front desk staff are horrible - Very unpleasant and a few just rude and mean. - This is based on 7 visits. Only met one (out of about 5 or 6) that was nice. BUT this is a high volume "mill", so they may have to be that way with some of the folks they deal with in that area. - Was correctly diagnosed with a particular condition. Attempted 5 times to fix it. After doing some research on the condition, I should've been referred to a specialist instead of them trying to treat it with an old outdated method. The Dr. had limited knowledge on the treatment for it, or was just to socially intraverted and in a rush that he didn't give me confidence (after 5 tries). Understand this from a business standpoint, but from a medical one, definately should've been referred out. I wasted 6 months as my condition progressed. This doctor should've referred me out or suggested to seek a specialist instead of continuing to try and fix (with limited knowledge of it..). In hindsight, I realize they could not charge my insurance carrier until they got it right, so that's why I was referred away. Instead of trying to make the money from me (ins carrier), should've took a medical position and suggested me to go elsewhere. read more

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. I gave Dr. O'Connor two tries in two years. The first time I met with him, he was very standoffish and hardly spoke to me. I'm a diabetic patient and his "exam" was nothing more than, "Which is better, this lense or that lense?", turn away from me, write something down, give me a script and nonchalantly ask, "Do you have any questions?" He made me feel like I was wasting his time. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt (we all have bad days). The front desk folks messed up billing the correct insurance information. My husband and I had to physically go back there to straighten it out. I decided to give this place and Dr. O'Connor another chance--big mistake!!! He acted the same way towards me. I was done with him. Fast forward to this year. I make another appointment but this time with a different doctor. I was fine until the Friday before my appointment when one of the office workers called me and told me that they didn't have my insurance information and that since it's thru my husband's company I needed to give her my husband's social security number! I told her the info was the same as last time and that I don't know my husband's social security number off the top of my head. She sternly told me, Well you won't be able to come here without his social security number! You need to get this straight before Friday! Can't you ask him what it is?" I got angry and told her that I wasn't going to call him at work for it, I'd take care of everything before Friday. She said," Okay or else you can't come in." I hung up on her. At that point, I was done with this place. I called the office back the next day and cancelled my appointment and told them I don't plan to schedule another one. She didn't sound one bit concerned. They don't have to worry about me ever again. read more
