Came home from a long weekend and was having an issue with my eye. Contacted BB Eye Care & Surgery and was able to get an appointment with Dr. Martinez for the same afternoon. It wound up being something in my eye which she was able to remove without too much discomfort after giving me a very thorough exam. So pleased with the quality of care. read more

I made this fact extremely clear to the receptionist when I arrived. The previous year I had the same test and was billed a $40. co-pay because of a billing code misunderstanding. I explained this to the person when I arrived to make sure this would not occur again. They assured me it wouldn't happen again. A few months after my session I was surprised to get a bill for the co-pay. After many phone calls and buck-passing between their office and my insurance they refused to delete the charge. I'm still on the hook for the charge (the money is not the issue). I will probably pay it to protect my credit rating but I urge you to look for another provider with more honest and more competent personnel.

Moreover, when I lost the slip of paper with my prescription on it, I requested a 2nd copy of the Rx and even agreed to do get my eyeglasses with her group. She not only sighed rudely when I requested a copy of my Rx, but she proceeded to charge me a second time-- the full cost of a visit-- just for a copy of the Rx. It cost a total of nearly $1000 to get prescription eyeglasses, including the office visit and request for a Rx copy. When I called to confirm whether it was a mistake, she confirmed the 2nd full charge is simply for a copy of the Rx. Her actions are clearly not in the patient's best interests. Clearly, her interests as a private practice physician is financial. I will never return to her.

She is resourceful and creative in understanding and solving problems.
