After reading some of the reviews, I felt it was important to share our experience as well. My aunt was cared for by Kindra and Adrina, and I can honestly say I have never seen her this positive and uplifted while still dealing with pain. There is a big difference between simply doing your job and caring with genuine compassion, and these two clearly have that gift. Kindra truly stood out. Her level of attentiveness, patience, and kindness was exceptional. When dinner arrived and she noticed my aunt was not eating, she immediately took the time to ask why. When my aunt said she did not like the meal, Kindra went out of her way to get her something else. She then calmly explained why eating is so important for healing, making sure my aunt felt encouraged and cared for rather than rushed or dismissed. It was not just the tasks being done, but the positive energy, warm smiles, and reassurance they brought into the room. That kind of attitude makes a real difference. Patients can feel stress and frustration just as easily as they can feel kindness, and Kindra and Adrina consistently brought comfort and encouragement. I understand healthcare facilities are busy and demanding, and overall the care here is good. However, staff members like Kindra and Adrina are what make a place worthy of five stars. They made my aunt feel valued, respected, and supported, and that means everything to families. I even joked with Kindra about coming home with us because of how wonderful she was. I truly hope these ladies receive the recognition they deserve, because care like this helps people heal in more ways than one.

True terror. There is no care, no compassion and zero…read morehumanity at this place. Expect nothing from the aides (they absolutely do not want to be bothered) and the nurses are glorified dispensaries. Well, only if the patient is wide awake and willing, otherwise they just move on. (So expect to find your loved one in excruciating pain). The nurses don't care for the patients well being; they don't have the time nor the inclination to help. Expect soiled sheets, diapers, repeat falls, 10+ minute wait times when you pull the emergency cord, disdain when you ask for clean sheets (only bc they're disgusting), extreme bed sores, patients naked in common areas (routinely) and general disdain for any request. If you're looking to place anyone here they must be nearly self sufficient +. Walk the third floor, smell it. Understand you're putting someone in the care of a building that offers meals and little else. Absolutely willing and able to provide photos.

They are hungry, their phones were taken away, they are in diapers that get changed once a day. It is horrible. Check the Medicare violations. Do not. I repeat-DO NOT bring your loved one here. There are only three aspects of this facility…read morethat deserve commendation - the physical therapists, occupational therapists, and social services. Unfortunately, the other aspects of the facility make it far from worth it to come here for rehab. Upon arrival, our family was given no general information on the facility, including facility rules and the intended plan for the coming weeks of my father's stay. We were not given any information on who his doctor would be, who his nurse practitioner would be, or where anything was in the facility. It's an extremely outdated building with a rank smell (SNFs should never have a smell). What we quickly came to learn is that the nursing staff only makes things more complicated and frustrating for residents and families. It's like pulling teeth to find out where things are in the building and getting information about where things are so that the families can at least get what patients need themselves. It took 30 minutes for an aide to bring water to my father. They do not change linens daily, even if there are stains on the sheets. They do not heed dietary restrictions. They are rude to families and amazingly lazy. Families should be paid instead of needing to pay because we essentially do the jobs of the nurses and aides when visiting. And finally-we've seen several instances of blatant neglect. Nurses ignore room calls. They do not periodically survey the halls to find out if patients need assistance (I called one evening and was told that surveying the halls once an hour was too demanding for them). We've seen patients sitting outside of the nurse's station calling for help with no one coming for half an hour. We attempted to take pictures of neglect taking place, only to be chased down by the head of nursing and told that they would call the police. Clearly they know that neglect happens every day here and do not want to be implicated for it. We are transferring my father to the Oakland Heartland, which is considered to be a much better SNF and we are hopeful that it will live up to its good reviews.

Later that same…read morenight, he suffered three heart attacks, followed by mechanical removal of the embolism, and two strokes between January 8 and January 18. After spending a month in the ICU and then another month at a specialty care hospital, my husband arrived at Pomeroy on March 6. At that time, he was still not meeting his ADLs and had a Stage 4 infected wound. I share this background because it's important to understand how complex his care needs were. Out of five facilities, Pomeroy was the only one willing to accept him. Others were unable or unwilling to take on such a complicated case, and for that alone, we are incredibly grateful. From the moment we arrived, the staff demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and a genuine commitment to my husband's well‑being. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the exemplary care provided at this skilled nursing facility. Ray, Kelly and Jolisa, RN, consistently went above and beyond, ensuring strong communication and attentive medical oversight. A special thank you to Kelly, Wound Care Nurse, whose expertise, dedication, and kindness have made a meaningful difference in my husband's healing and comfort. The CNAs--Makela, Felicia, Octavia, and Jay--have been truly wonderful. They are patient, respectful, and consistently attentive, always treating residents with dignity and warmth. Their teamwork and positive attitudes have made a very difficult time easier for both my husband and our family. I would also like to recognize Tony and Bri, Physical and Occupational Therapy. They have been incredible--working tirelessly with my husband, encouraging him as they help him practice sitting up and standing. Even though progress takes time, they have never stopped believing in him or motivating him to keep trying. This facility is fortunate to have such a dedicated and compassionate team. I am deeply grateful for the care my husband has received and would highly recommend Pomeroy to anyone seeking quality, patient‑centered skilled nursing care.

We were thankfully accepted and received A Class service. We did have a couple of hiccups but No Place is Perfect. The staff, Especially the Nurses and CNAs were SUPERSTARS!!! They deserve Praise and definitely a Raise!!! We would like to give a Shoutout Everyone - Front Desk, Social Services Staff, Custodial Staff, Cafeteria Staff, and Especially the Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapy Team, Nursing Leads (Eugene, Manny, Ray), Kelli the Wound Specialist, Betty the Nutritional Guru and MAINLY the CNAs for their HARD Work and Nurses for Caring for my Mother!!
