My dear neighbor friend has been in this facility for the past 3 years due to a tragic fall at home. She has nothing but good things to say about her stay. The staff are kind and professional. The food is so/so. The facility is clean and very attractive making visitors & patients feel very welcomed. There is plenty of parking up front. The front desk are always friendly and knowledgeable. My mother was there. She lost her dentures and glasses, and when she was having an extreme pain in her legs, the nurses at the desk didn't care. And they were very rude to the point where they were just ignore my mother. As well as my mom's neighbor that she was in the room with, was very rude to my mom. Do not send your loved one (or yourself!) to Woodward Hills Health & Rehabilitation When an old woman is left in wet briefs so long that her skin barrier begins to erode, and when that failure of care is reported and nothing changes, it signals a deeply disturbing and heartbreaking failure. The leadership at Woodward Hills has forgotten their purpose and moral imperative: to provide their patients with the care they need with the dignity they deserve. Here's what happened: My grandma was admitted to Woodward Hills for 10 days. In that time, she developed skin breakage from sitting in wet briefs for so long. She was fully dependent on staff. She had advanced Alzheimer's and could not understand or use a call light. Because of this, she required proactive, routine checks to ensure she received assistance with toileting and hygiene. Those checks didn't happen. Instead, she was left in briefs long enough to cause skin damage. Something that is entirely preventable with basic care. When family was present and we hit the call light, the fastest response time was 10 minutes. Usually it was far longer or the light was totally ignored. There were also serious supervision failures. My grandmother, a high fall risk, was found by my aunt wandering in another resident's room, wearing someone else's slippers, trying to find a bathroom. There were multiple instances where she was wandering and staff did not know where she was. I reported everything to the nurse manager, the administrator (Ryan Johnson), and a social worker (Mellissa Hasler). Leadership was fully aware of what was going on. Meaningful changes were not made. Call lights continued to be ignored. Her care plan, including checks every two hours, was not followed. She continued to go without care, including over three hours without toileting assistance while waiting for a hospital transfer. If this is what care looked like when family was present, what was happening when we weren't there? I'm not talking about a one-time phone call or email to report what was happening- I was calling and emailing consistently to ensure my grandma's safety and care. As soon as I realized how unsafe the facility was, I started getting things in order to transfer my grandmother to another facility. I had to beg for them to get the paperwork together. I had to follow up to get the basic steps completed REPEATEDLY. Then she was discharged without all of her prescribed medications. I reported Woodward Hills to the state. My mom was there for a month of iv antibiotics for an infection. Her pain and swelling had gotten worse while there, not better. They forgot one whole day of antibiotics. They didn't give her any pain medicine for over 12 hours . When I called her nurse on duty to say she was is a great amount of pain, the nurse hung up on me. When I have visited this place, most of the staff is in small groups in the halls, talking. Nurse lights go unanswered for an hour. The facility smells very heavily of old filth, like it has never been cleaned thoroughly. Only a few of the staff is friendly and seem to know what they are doing. I will never recommend this place to anyone, nor will I make my mother stay there again for as long as she lives. I don't know why Woodward Hills has positive reviews. It is a dirty facility. Half the lights do not works. Half of the hospital beds are broken. For the most part, the nursing staff cannot be bothered to care for their patients in any aspect. read more

If I could leave zero I would. Admissions was very nice and assuring my mother would be cared for. We were assured she would be checked at least every 2 hours to be sure she was cleaned up. I would say even with pleading for passing nurses, it has taken at least 4 hours to get someone to help. The nurse assistants and nurses are not qualified to safely move patients with care and dignity. 2 aids tried to pick my mom up by her diaper today and proceeded to drop her on her face twisted on the bed with her screaming in pain. We are now on night 2 and have been waiting over 2 hours to change a soiled bedding. If only the admissions were honest and in touch about the quality of care. read more

Rooms are not prepared properly for admission. No AC, TV remotes, phones don't have cords to plug into wall jack, light bulbs burned on table lamps, lights answered in minimal 25 min or more, maintainced does not respond to work orders....takes 4 to 5 days plus. Little to no shift report to care givers or nurses. Its exhausting to keep asking for basic assistance for days. It use to be a wonderful facility w great staff. This is an attractive-looking modern building void of care and professional attitude. My driver wheeled me into my assigned room when I arrived. As soon as he left, I walked out into the hall to take a look at the building. Immediately, an enormous woman lunged at me, pointed a finger at me and yelled, "Get into your room!" This welcoming gesture was followed by four individual other enormous women, wagging fingers at me each time, yelling, "Get into your room!" Once the welcoming party departed, i wandered out into the. hall to investigate the building. The nearest lobby had five workers lounging; three men sitting on top of desks and counters, one sitting down in a chair, and one woman standing. I asked for a business card or stationery with the address and phone number on it. The woman replied, "Aint got none." I asked the group if perhaps somebody had a pencil and paper and could write the address and phone number on it. The workers in the room ignored me. The woman standing up repeated, "Aint got none." As soon as I walked into my assigned room, a nurse and assistant followed me in. The nurse announced, "I'm gonna check your butt and skin," in her most professional tone, a hint of the care to come. The patients' rooms run down a hall into individual nursing stations with five aides in each station. The head nurse and admitting officer both explained to me the next day that they have extra aides to provide the very best care. They did not mention that the five aides at each station, socialize, ignoring the call buttons and calls for help from patients, who need help, while they are too busy to get up and away from their socializing to check the call buttons and patients, calling for help. Some of the call buttons and buzzing are ignored for thirty or forty minutes, while the army of aides socializes. In the early evening, I walked out of my room to ask for somebody to turn up the heat and get me some blankets. The aide explained that this is a highly-desired room looking out onto the patio but extremely cold all winter. It was in the low twenties outside. I shivered through the night, covered in my shearling coat and four blankets. In the morning, I was transferred to the other side of the building. As soon as the heat hit me in the face, as I walked in, I knew immediately that this room would not work. There was no thermostat in the room. I contacted Instacart to buy some thermostats and had them delivered to me. During the day, the temperature hovered around 87 degrees all day long but shot up above 90 during the night. The nurse and several of the aides explained to me in a voice used to speak to mentally-challenged patients and babies, "We have to keep the heat up high here because these old patients are very sick and would die without heat." Heat brings on my atrial fibrillation and SVT attacks, which is my ticket to an ER room. I walked over to the nearest snack room and decided to lie down on a bench. Chrystal, a lovely nurse, brought me some blankets. Needless to say, I did not sleep at all on the bench. The head nurse and admissions officer came over to see me the next day. Neither could understand why I wouldn't be happy with the first room with no heat at all. They simply could not understand why I would not love the second room with 87 degree heat. The head nurse quizzed me if any of the aides, who bullied me into the first room, had touched me. He felt victorious that none of the aides had physically touched me, "Good, good, good! I don't understand you. You did not like the first room because it was too cold. We tried to help and moved you to another room. Now it's too hot for you!" I recommend installing a new heating/cooling system in the building. Aschanti was my nurse the third night. When she dispened my medications for the night, I asked her why she had not given me my dose of the blood thinner, Eliquis. Aschanti told me that she needed to verify my dosage because it seemed incorrect and did not wish to harm me with the incorrect dosage. I asked her to check mychart for Beaumont and U of M or even EPIC to find my correct dosage. Aschanti was already in the midst of checking EPIC for my correct dosage. She told me that she was flying to Dallas for the weekend but would be back on Monday and hoped to see me soon. What a nurse! The food was not edible.. ever. I tried to solve this situation by ordering out for breakfast and dinner and skipping lunch. The video I had seen online about the rehabilitation center showed well-dressed patients in regular street clothing being waited on by professionally-dressed, smiling staff, choosing from a varied and special order menu. When I walked into this fine dining area to investigate, I saw laminated tables, which were covered with linen for the video. When I asked about the menu, I was told everybody in the building eats from the same daily one item menu. WOW! I decided to leave for home. read more

Good Day ~ 'My release was actually last October, and interestingly enough, I began receiving phone calls; stating packages had arrived for me & 'will someone please stop by to pick them up?' Albeit, somewhat incredulous, a lovely woman named Samar Malouf, followed up several times and actually dropped off these same packages to my new residence just this morning. Samar went to the extreme of leaving her home early, to follow through with the delivery and ONLY due to the fact, I do not currently have a vehicle. How lovely is this ? I am posting this review for my husband who very recently had an 8-day stay at Woodward Hills. His stay was supposed to be longer, but I had to bring him home to recuperate if he was to get better. Bedbound without assistance, he would not be getting better at Woodward Hills. For 7 of the 8 days, his call light did not work. He phoned me in the middle of the night, asking for help ... 90 minutes had gone by since asking for help and no one answered his call. I arrived the second day - 12:45 pm - no one had been in after breakfast was left on his tray table - out of his reach. He could not reach the tray to eat. Urinal was left next to sink - he soiled himself. I found him in a wet bed, soiled. I asked why no one had been in to wash him up or assist him. I was told that "this isn't a hotel" and that "I could grab a washcloth and wash him up." I did that of course - every day. In general, the staff here is extremely rude, directed an attitude toward myself and my husband and service was very rarely provided.. Four days had gone by and I asked when he would be assisted with taking a shower. I was told they were short-staffed on his scheduled shower day and that he would be showered his next scheduled day- in another 3 days. I asked for Sharon, Nurse Manager to step down to his room. I explained that I was not a difficult person to get along with, but my husband could NOT sit in his own excrement in a wet bed. She told me she didn't know any of this had happened. Negative attitude was directed at me, but my husband did receive his shower. On day 7 he was moved to room where assistance light worked. I then asked for Ryan the Administrator to come to the room through my Social Worker. Ryan never showed up. The day before we left - 2:30 had come and my husband had never received his lunch tray. I brought in food every day - the food here was inedible. I do want to acknowledge: Yvonne, Rhonda and Amber who showed care toward my husband. Recovery will continue at our home. Not a caring facility at all. Going in, I was fearful and didn't expect much. My expectations came true. read more

My dad recently spent over four weeks at this facility... and I was able to visit with him during his last few days there, meet some of the staff, see the meals, see him in action during his physical therapy, etc... Now my dad is not a stranger to rehab / nursing facilities, so this was not his first rodeo, but all things considered, we were pleased with the care he received here. From the PT, OT, Speech therapy, Social Worker, doctors and nurses, he received the attention needed in order to get stronger and get released to go home. Sure - the staff could have been a bit more attentive, but we know this isn't the Ritz ;) We're grateful that my dad is now home, but in the world of nursing centers, this place was more than decent. It probably helped that for the majority of his stay, he did not have a roommate. I cannot imagine that anyone wants to be at this or any nursing facility, but if this is one of your options, it is one to consider. read more

Let me first say that I have been in Woodward Hills for over 5 months for two broken legs. The nurses and nurse asst. are the backbone of any hospital. I would like to recognize a few of the nurses that I dealt with on a day to day basis. Jay, Kwan, Angel, Mark, Brian and April. Nursing assistants Vanna and Aleah. Now I've worked with other nurses but on a limited basis. All of the nurses listed above go above and beyond to make you comfortable. They all do there job without complaint and by there work ethic you can tell they really love their job. Vanna and Aleah always make there selves available to help you be comfortable. Kahn,Julie,Gerald and Ashley all work in PT and OT. All have worked hard to get me back walking again. I can't thank everyone enough for the hard work and dedication they have shown me. read more

My brother has been ill for 31 years and in numerous hospitals and countless rehab facilities. This is by far the worst facility the family has ever dealt with. The staff is EXTREMELY RUDE, the care is substandard, the smell of urine so putrid. Shower days are Wednesday and Saturdays. He never gets showered. I question if he even gets his medication dispensed properly. I have contacted the "nurses in charge ", and get no follow up feedback. My suggestion to anyone looking to place a loved one in this facility is to look at the reviews and choose other option. read more

This place is piece of crap. No one calls you back, nurses and aides don't have enough help. My family member gets barely any attention. It's clean and it's a ruse, bc nothing else is ok. Wrong meds given, never given or not given on time. Drs, social workers, etc. don't do their jobs. It's a side hustle for most of them. Stay away! 1/14/25: I called the # provided by the Optalis owner and it goes straight to a vm not identifying anyone or any company. Very similar to how my family has been treated all along. No clue who I'm speaking to half the time or if any action is being taken. The promises made that a care team will be in touch with family is a joke. The only Dr who has responded has been Dr Lisa Grant and I cannot say enough about how comforting it's been to be in contact with her. I left messages for Bruce Veres, Ryan Johnson and Dr Dietch. All have gone unanswered. 1/28/25: the week of 1/13, my brother demanded an MRI be done bc to date the drs had our loved one doped up on opioids for over a month and she had not improved at all (she could not sit upright for more than approx 2 mins without pain). The results came back the next day and it showed she had a fracture and dislocated spine. She was immediately transferred to Troy Beaumont for a CT scan which confirmed the results. She was admitted that night and had surgery this past week. If you care at all for your loved one, you will place them elsewhere bc the lack of care, follow thru, etc is disgraceful. Our loved one was just transferred to another rehab (owned by Optalis) & you bet we're going to be all over this place. So far it's night and day. Suggestion for Woodward Hills: get rid of your residential staff, pay your nurses and aids more so maybe they'll actually care about their patients. Do better. read more

They practically killed my dad in less than 3 days. Missing medications and giving wrong meds in way too high of a dose. Diabetic meal has noodles, pie and canned fruit cocktail. When you ring the call button no one comes. My mom went in the morning to see my dad and he was unconscious in a chair. There is no doctor on duty. She called the EMT ambulance and his blood pressure was 70/40. He had been unconscious and not eating for quite some time and the folks weren't even givinghim medication or alerting my mom. The EMT said that they're having to pick up people in similar condition from there all the time. I blame the owners who are understaffing and not giving any sort of quality control. The physical therapist, however, is great. Everything else was horrifying. Edit: these are the owners. They buy up businesses like this to suck money out of them ("optimize performance") for themselves. These private equity people prey on folks at the worst time in their lives to extract money for themselves. They're doing nothing but ruining businesses, hiring people at slave wages, overcharging families and medicare and providing dismal care--all towards the one goal of enriching themselves. Terrible rehab khan wheeled my brother out for therapy into a day room and left him there. No therapy given just left him alone in chair.

My elderly father had horrible care here. The PT and OT staff were great- enthusiastic and knowledgeable- but that's 10% of the time spent. The aides were incredibly disintersted and dismissive. They seemed irritated by him and us He declined in his health from his stay in an ICU in part because they did not get him up (he required complete assistance to move) and often left him in bed until we came and begged them to await us getting him dressed and in a chair. I had to be there for multiple hours a day to make sure they got him up and dressed and he had decent food to eat or water to drink. Weekends were terrible- understaffed, no therapy, he was left in bed. Everyone knows that sarcopenia (muscle weakness) progresses quickly in bed ridden patients. But they didn't prioritize his care in any way. The food was disgusting. The front desk staff was delightful. I wouldn't send anyone there and never leave reviews, but no one should have to go through what we did. There was no enrichment or social interaction outside of us. Communication from staff was poor, we only received communication at admission and when Medicare coverage was being cut off (the financial office was VERY responsive). Even at discharge, we had to go ask social work to ask the aides to get him dressed because we had a medical van coming to get him. It's like they forgot he was there. Awful experience. read more

What an awful, awful place...the food is awful, the staff is inept/unresponsive/rude, but because I became frustrated with their negligence, I had a staff member call me rude...this was after she administered an insulin shot that was quite painful and I told her so...she topped off her remarks with "I'm not the diabetic", two-legged mistake that she is...I am convinced that the staff is now, with malice of intent, ignoring my pages for assistance...I came here for physical therapy after a partial amputation due to diabetic complications and after the "wound specialist" changed the dressing on my foot I've been in constant pain, so much so that I called 911, and these c*cks*ckas told the ambo not to come!!! Needless to say if there are any further complications on my foot I will sue the shit out of them for negligence...by all means, keep away!!! read more

Yelp is probably not the best place to put this review but in case you're looking for a skilled nursing facility this was not the best place for my mother. It is a very nice looking place with a nice dining/activity area and garden. My mother liked her pt and ot there. Some of the nursing assistants are attentive and helpful and others are not like most of these places. My mother's roommate wanted to stay longer. She was told insurance would cover so much but it didn't and she was told that she would basically end up paying $400 a day for 2 days. We thought that was bad. I even went to their billing person that same day to make sure my mom was ok. She assured me that my mom didn't owe anything yet. Then the next day I called insurance per a doctors suggestion to make sure my mom would be covered for in home care. Found out her insurance company had sent in 2 letters for denial of coverage so my mom had over stayed 6 days. I was assured her in home therapy would be set up before she left. I was told a doctor appointment would be made before she left. I was told the director of social work and the case manager would contact me before she left. None of these things happened. A week later insurance tells me they still haven't done anything to fix the situation. And they don't call you back. I'm sure my mom like her roommate is going to get shafted due to their mistakes and negligence. They don't care. Be warned management here needs to be upgraded. Check with your insurance often to make sure your loved one is still covered if this was your only option. my mom even wanted to leave early but they said she had to stay Got off the phone with insurance today and found out this facility isn't planning on doing anything to fix their mistake. A beautiful facility set back in the woods of Bloomfield Hills. First of all David Nurse, a concierge, was over the top , encouraging and kind in my friend's ankle recovery. When we had a problem he came and spent time and helped solve it. There were mostly wonderful caring attendants from room cleaning to PT , nurses, aides and doctor. However, when a patient used the nurse call light it took a long time to get an answer. The food was very good. The only suggestion is to cut back on the amount brought each time. read more

,I was there twice in 4 months due to complications following surgery at Beaumont R.O., for an infection in and around a knee joint prosthetics...I was unable to walk or stand Therefore I was basically bedridden and thank God I am a registered nurse or else I would be dead from mistakes or things not done at Royal oak Beaumont and then again at Woodward hills ‼ everyone in every department at Woodward hills are completely overworked and most likely not paid enough The meals were mostly subpar especially on a little salt diet. My brother is currently here and I have to say I have never seen so many uncaring members of health care professionals. It normally takes over an hour for anyone to answer a call light, if I'm here I can go out to the desk and find them just sitting there talking. It took 1 week for them to address his bedsores, he doesn't get moved or cleaned. They don't dispense medications properly, don't assist him with his meals. My family and I do not recommend this place for your loved one who may need sub-acute rehab. My mother was referred to Woodward Hills through Beaumont Hospital many times because of mom having balance issues resulting in her falling. This facility is no longer owned or operated by Beaumont hospital but now privately operated. After several years of having mom at this facility off & on, when it was Beaumont owned, it was not a stellar place for your loved one who needs sub-acute Rehab Care. And it's definitely gone downhill since the fall of 2019 when it was sold. We have been beyond disappointed with Woodward Hills due to it consistently being understaffed and the lack of timely attention to the seniors that need assistance in getting up and using the restroom, having their medicine correctly provided and response time when a patient pushes their necklace to summon assistance in a timely manner. Employees look very sad and irritated, and I personally observed and impatience when dealing with the residents. When you enter Woodward Hills to sign in, you don't even get a smile or greeting. You are ignored. Most recently in December 2019 while I signed in to visit my mother, the receptionist's head was down either in her phone or a book. Having experienced this before, & with different receptionists, so I'm not singling out just one person, I loudly said Hello and was ignored, so, I signed in, and then as I walked toward the main entrance to visit my mom , the receptionist yelled "have you signed in?" This sets the tone for the entire establishment. Management needs to get a handle on this entire facility starting at the receptionist desk and ending with the staff that seem to have an attitude and are very unhappy to be working there. The only star goes to the physical therapists who are patient and kind. And There is no feedback as to why my mother was quarantined and they had no documentation on what they were treating her for. My daddy was a patient at Woodward Hills June 2023 for 3 weeks, after the second day he wasn't able to walk anymore, he had a bed sore, fell out the bed, his knee was swollen. When the hospice nurse came out to see him they had a pad inside of his depends so they wouldn't have to change him regularly. I asked to speak to his doctor I was told he will contact me, that never happened. The PA told me on a Friday he had a had a x-ray when I asked for the results several times a x-ray technician came in to take a x-ray on Wednesday I asked her why was he getting a second X-ray, she looked in his chart and said this is his first x-ray. So I was lied to about that. Some days I would go to see my daddy his food tray was by the sink, so if he couldn't walk how was he able to get his food. Because he was labeled as a patient that was a fighter he didn't get the care he should have got. I remember one nurse told me because he is a elder man that has laid in bed for days he won't be able to walk, well guess what after we brought him home he is able to walk with a walker. They don't deserve the 1 star. read more

My aunt has been staying here for quite some time now, and we have been dismayed by the quality of care here - which is little to none. When she calls no one answers and leaves her in messes, she is left at her appointments with no one to pick her up (a service that Woodward calls is in charge of that) and this is after already being late to take her to those appointments. Almost every worker we have spoken to has been rude, heavily sighs at anything you ask them, and makes it extremely obvious they do not care or want to be there. It is extremely hard to leave a family member with other people who are entrusted with taking care of them, and consistently seeing no help and constant neglect. This place has gone downhill. It's impossible to contact anyone at the front desk because the line is frequently busy. I was surprised how dirty it was here. I really wouldn't recommend anyone putting a loved one here. Please keep in mind that if you're loved one has any issue while staying here, you will not be able to get ahold of a manager, or get actual details from staff. I guess I expected better care for the cost. Because of our experience, I now feel like the 5 star reviews are fake, or possibly written by staff members, and I wish I wouldn't have believed them when deciding where to put our grandmother. The other patients looked absolutely miserable, and the staff look agitated and easily annoyed. Shayna, our social worker was absolutely wonderful. She was super knowledgeable and a great resource. She was kind and patient. This was our first time as a family going through something like this, so we were very nervous and scared. She explained everything and answered all of our questions. Sue and Courtney were her PT and OT. They were so, so great! My mother is walking better now, than she has in last 6 or 7 years. This is because of them. They also gave me great ideas for when my mother returned home. Helpful hints that we are still using. All of the staff, from the nurses to the nurses assistants were pleasant and kind. Even though they can get super busy, I always knew they were on top of things. They have a beautiful dining room and outside courtyard area. They have activities and ice cream days that my mom loved. They were friendly to everyone that visited too. As my mom's caregiver, I will forever be grateful to Woodward Hills. You guys were a huge blessing!!! read more

This pls e should be closed. It is hazardous to the health of anyone who does not have a family member or friend constantly there to ensure they get the care and support they need. It is scary incompetent. And unresponsive. Mistakes in meds, no follow through on care, understaffed, shabby, worn, faulty equipment, and dirty. The food is disgusting and rarely correct. Even going to eat in the Dining Room does not get one hot or even adequately warm food. This was my third time in rehab but first at this facility. I would never go there again and beg you not to believe their hype and brochures. Terrible place. read more

There almost killed my mother with medical neglect. Even after I alerted the head nurse, nothing was done for her. Her problems were not addressed for 6 hours until change of shift. The next shift nurse recognised that she was in Congestive heart failure. Besides this, my mom was ignored when she called to go to the bathroom and many other issues. read more

I can't believe how much I like this place for my 73 year old mom recovering from lung removal surgery. My mom has had a very slow recovery with medical issues when admitted to Woodward hills. She had feeding tube and hadn't eaten foods. It had caused her pain since getting it in ICU. The dietician at Woodward hillls was first person to fix all the issues with feeding. She spent much time with me and my mom figuring it out. The PT and OT and speech therapy are great. 30-60 minutes each 5-6 times a week. Most RN and nurses aide good. A few are fantastic who really care about my mom. I've come to realize no hospital, long term acute care or nursing home is perfect. Most are sub par. Not Woodward hills. Three years ago my mom was in heartland west Bloomfield nursing home after breaking her neck. I disliked the care she got there. Don't have complaints this time around at Woodward hills. It's the Cadillac of nursing homes in my experience with nursing homes with my mom and other family members. read more

My dad was admitted to Woodward Hills today for subacute rehab. Everyone was so kind, professional, and accommodating. He was seen immediately by PT and OT for an assessment and both therapists were very kind and encouraging. My father was provided with dinner right away, even though it was before the regular dinner hour. They also provided my father with a private room, at no additional cost. The grounds are very pretty but the care and concern to my father were truly amazing. Thank you, Woodward Hills Staff. read more

EDIT: My mother returned to Woodward Hills and it had some issues that she didn't originally have. My mother has issues with her blood sugar. Woodward Hills is HORRIBLE at treating people with diabetes. The place doles out sugar like it's no big problem. They have free ice cream every day. They have pop machines with Pepsi and Mountain Dew. They have challenged kids hand out candy to each room at night. They measured my mom's blood sugar and it had gone up to 300!! And the doctors/nurses apparently didn't think this was a big deal. I saw the results on BeaumontChart online and was shocked. I contacted her nurse and the doctor changed her status to diabetic 2 and put her on metformin. And began to serve her "diabetic meals". So I show up at meal time and there's a SUGAR COOKIE on her tray!! That's a diabetic meal? There's no such thing as a diabetic meal, they serve the same stuff that gave my mom blood sugar problems. AND on her bed-side table was a marshmallow-chocolate cookie!!! They were passing out candy to her!! I'd be angry but this is how most hospitals work now. They watch out for too much fat, but feeding a ton of sugar seems acceptable. Beaumont Hospital is the same way. They told me she could stay longer because the insurance would pay, I said NO WAY. I had to get her home to stop eating so badly. ALSO, if you go here in the summer, the place has next to no A/C. The rooms are very warm. It's like they cool the atrium and the front area where the workers are but the rooms for the residents are hot. It's still a nice facility with decent amenities. END OF EDIT. My mother had a stroke and was sent here for 3 months. There are many places to go for rehab care, but this is one of the nicer places. The nurses were great and the aides were nice. The therapy was fantastic. She went from basically being an invalid to where she could walk and move again. Time to get assistance could be long, but it wasn't 30 minutes. My mother was bathed twice a week and had therapy 5-6 days per week. The big dinning room had very good food. And there was entertainment and games. There's a salon for women's hair. There's a big attrium that leads to an outside courtyard which is great for getting outside when the weather is nice. Obviously no one wants to have to deal with a loved one being in a place like this, so it makes it extra stressful at first. And people are going to complain and be bitter about this situation. But if you have the choice, this place was pretty good. read more

We chose this place for Mom to go after a fall with 3 fractured ribs. Upon checking my Mom in, she was complaining that her knee started hurting really bad. She was transported from the hospital by Ambulance. Noone seemed to care or know how it happened. My Mom asked what to do if she had to go to the bathroom? The person in charge told her to just go on herself untill she is checked in. I asked for a Doctor about her knee. Two days later and still no Doctor. Yesterday they didn't give my Mom utensils with lunch. She kept pushing her call button and waited so long that she had to eat with her hands. They put diapers on her and left her soiled for hours. When she pushed her call button, someone told her to stop pushing her button so much. I called and told them she is laying in her bed soiled, when they came in, Mom asked "Are you here to change me"? The person said, with an attitude, "I guess". I did speak with a Supervisor who apologized that she was out yesterday this will not happen again. We will see but these things should of never happened. read more

Not so fabulous and definitely could be much worse. purse the nurse's call button and WAIT. WAIT 15, 20, 25, 30 or more minutes, or more. An aide comes in, completely disinterested. A request for water is made. Aide moves off. Another 15, 20, 25 or more minutes pass, aide returns, places cup on table out of reach of patient and moves on. Meanwhile, at the centrally located nurse's station, a board with room numbers illuminates as a room buzzer is pushed and light is completely ignored. Conversations continue, "cute hair", "whatcha doin' later?" Patients wait until aides get it together to do their jobs. SO VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS FACILITY. A complete overhaul of the physical structure and staff is well needed. read more

Worst nursing home ever!!it may be located in Bloomfield Hills but that doesn't mean a thing. Admin and DON are horrible. Nurses and Cnas sit on there asses all day while call lights are on and patients need assistance. Very low pay and crazy amounts of admissions. In one week they accept up to 30-40 patients weekly knowing that insurances will cut them the very next week. When you bring nursing concerns to the pointless ass morning meeting that they have every morning the DON gets pissed and lies saying that he already dealt with the problem just to make it look like he's doing his job a compulsive liar and manipulator.When you bring complaints or concerns to admin he will say he will take care of it or talk to the person and he won't do anything neither. They only care about the money here. they don't care what health complications your loved ones have. If you have managed insurance don't expect to be here for no more than 1-2 weeks. They expect the social workers to do everything. They will page and call social work all day long instead of handling concerns when they have 4 unit managers that can assist but they would rather put it on the only 2 sws in the building. They also provide NO training whatsoever. They will just throw you to the wolves and expect you to know everything. Corporate doesn't do anything to support staff either. When you reach out to corporate for help they will not help and will ignore you.Do not work here or put your loved ones here. read more

Admission Department: The Admission Department should consider the patients' diagnoses when placing them in the same room. My roommate walked all of the time and I was unable to get any sleep. Nursing: The nurses were friendly, courteous and attentive. I don't remember all of their names, but the most outstanding ones were Kaylass, Scott, Jerome, Kaylen, Tia and Daisy. Nursing Assistants: Some of the assistants were friendly and courteous, however they didn't always respond in a timely manner. This could have been attributed to a staffing problem. The names of the outstanding ones were Shanira, Destiny and Vanna. Therapists: All of the therapists were friendly and helpful. Kitchen: The menu helpers were friendly and courteous and helpful with the menu and the food was good. Bathroom: My bathroom was hazardous and unsanitary. Water ran from under the toilet and black substance was on the floor behind the toilet. Maintenance was notified on numerous occasions and it still was not fixed when I left. I was admitted on 1/14/2019 and discharged on 2/6/2019. read more
