Dr Pickett is great! I have been to a few eye doctors over the years and he has by far been the best I've visited in the area. He went above and beyond making sure I was happy with my contacts. When I first moved to Ogden, my biggest misgivings were having to replace my eye doctor in Iowa. I've been enormously pleased, however with Dr. Pickett and his staff. I came here last year and they just literally like to take your money and then not remind you that your glasses/contacts are in. Last year when i went to get fitted for my contacts they took about 2 months and then they didn't call me. You have to call yourself and see if your stuff got there. Then again this year i took my mom there and they said they would contact me when her stuff is ready and AGAIN I HAD TO CALL TO SEE if they had my moms glasses and the person that answered was like "oh yeah they have been here for 3 weeks????????? whhhhaaat why didn't anyone call me and all she said was THEY SHOULD OF CALLED YOU. I seriously love these folks! I broke my glasses just days before i was set to go on vacation. I had not had an exam in years so i had to be re-tested . I told them about my predicament and they got me a brand new pair of glasses the very next morning! I was so thankful to be able to see again and not be blind on my trip. Best ever! It may be odd to love your optometrist but when you've had bad ones in the past, its great to have one you trust.

We absolutely love doctor Pickett! He is amazing. However, I had to give this three stars due to one specific receptionist my husband and I have had several horrible encounters with. She's middle aged with light brown hair. I'm not sure what her name is nor do l care to blast her identity. She has not only been really rude and condescending towards me, but has stated my husbands ethnicity and made comments on it several times. First of all, she not only mentions that he is Hispanic several times while commenting on his bad eyes and how it's common with Hispanics, Which is totally not even statistically true, but it's also irrelevant and not important what so ever. Secondly, he is Persian... our dang last name gives it away. It's pretty obvious. That being said the logistics of the situation are not that important. What is inappropriate is that she even comments on race. That's so tacky and rude. I don't sit here and talk about how she is white and a lot of middle aged white people are judgmental jerks now do I? Nope. Race isn't important within choosing eye glasses and shouldn't be mentioned at all. Please train your staff about discrimination and proper business ethics. We still plan on coming into this location as far as I'm concerned and I would have loved to just email this to the company but was unable to find the info in order to accomplish this message. read more

I LOVE this optometry office! Maybe it's because I've been through a slew of crappy optometrists (Walmart, Pearl Vision, Lenscrafters, etc.), but now I carefully research each place before I even set foot in the place. That being said, I researched this place first, and decided to take a chance even though they are super far away for me. First of all, the ladies up front are awesome. I love Sarah to death! She helped me with my rebate forms, called the manufacturers to see if they had particular glasses in different colors and sizes (and then ordered them as well), gave us real advice on fitting, styles and anything eye-related that you could think of! She alone deserves a 5 star rating :-) Next, is Dr. Pickett...let's just say, he is possibly the raddest eye doc in the West! Maybe it's because we have similar interests (outdoor activities, running, adventures, etc.) or maybe it's just because he correctly diagnosed my messed up eyes and made it so I'm able to wear contact again...but whatever it is, I'm never going to another eye doc while I'm in Ogden ever again! On one last note (because I must be honest with the Yelp community), my husband did have the other, semi-retired, older doctor that only works on Mondays (I think). He was not quite as thrilled as I was with my doc. Something about the doctor giving him a bunch of unwanted life advice. Not that he wouldn't normally appreciate it, but my hubby is fully committed to his wonderful and fulfilling career and doesn't really need somebody telling him to choose his career carefully or he will regret it, etc, etc. Plus I raved about my doc, so my hubby probably had very high expectations for this place. We were told that this doc has a strong following, but my guess is that it is an older generation of folks that prefer his services and methods. read more

This is an excellent optometry office. Great staff.and a real expert doctor. I think they are probably the best in the area of Weber County. Staff are very well prepared and treat you well, not like cattle!!! ENJOY!! read more

The place looked nice when I walked in and the staff was friendly. So that part was great. But when I checked in they had lost my appointment. I set the appointment a week and a half in advance to make sure it would work with my schedule. Some how it was never set according to the lady at the front desk. I guess I will take my business somewhere else. read more
