My experience working with James at Optical Auto was unfortunately very frustrating. After their website and email hosting expired due to NON-PAYMENT of annual third-party hosting fees, they left my business a 1-star review across many platforms. I own a web design company, and their website was completed professionally and remained live for nearly three years. Throughout the project and afterward, communication was uncomfortable and extremely difficult despite numerous emails, phone calls, texts, and voicemails. The annual hosting renewal notices went unanswered, and once the hosting account expired, the provider permanently removed the website and email data. I advised of this via email, text and voicemails. Then over a year later, Optical Auto asked for access to their email. I explained the host deleted it a year ago, then they chose to an unprofessional act of posting a 1-star review of my business. They accepted the simple $800/5 page website proposal that stated "Using your content as the foundation, we create beautiful, responsive and easy to navigate websites...". We even provided SEO-friendly website content as a courtesy to help move the project forward after they would not provide their own content (and suggested we copy content from competitors websites). The proposal also stated $119 would be due annually to renew web and email hosting. After 3 years, they chose to not renew the services. They did not read the proposal they accepted or pay the annual renewals. We work hard to provide professional service, clear proposals, and ongoing support. Unfortunately, this situation resulted from ignored communications, uncomfortable communication and expired third-party services--not a lack of work or commitment on our part. read more

I purchased a car from this location . ,checked Under hood heard a small noise , asked about it .was told that nothing was wrong test drove it didn't ride bad just a little loud..Next morning drove to Walmart this car started screaming checked under hood clearly the noise was the same as yesterday , was worst turned out to belt tensioners plus pulleys. The next morning went to speak optical auto James never apologized for this never try to make it right ...There's know way they didn't know this problem didnt exist mechanics work there. Wow! What an amazing experience. I've been seeking an auto window tint shop for a minute now and the most popular shops on Yelp never responded. So I gave up looking until I was riding to Lasalle park on Airline Hwy and glanced over to my right and saw Shade Tree Auto Tinting. I called to schedule an appointment and was told, while I could schedule an appointment, it's honestly first come, first serve. I really needed to get my exercise in for the day so I took a chance to come on my way back and lo and behold, James was just finishing up a car and I was next. Won't He (Jesus) do it!!! See, I'm not the type of chick that likes waiting at car dealers or anything car related (except my 15 minute oil changes), so naturally, I asked how long it's gonna take.....only a whopping hour but it was more like 30 minutes!!! I was only getting the front two windows tinted with the standard legal tint. The Marathon high performance film reduces heat up to 42% and blocks 99% of harmful UV rays. But I think they all block a high level of UV rays. Anyway, the folks here are exceptionally friendly, kind, polite and professional. These are all business attributes I love. I came in here to get my window tint removed and replaced under warranty. At first everything seemed like it would be done quite simply by James at Shade Tree. 5 days later it still is not done. The holdup....the window tint company won't approve James to do the job b/c they say my tint is illegal and they won't replace illegal tint. Ummm my tint is LEGAL. Just because the original installer couldn't fill out my warranty card properly with the correct roll #'s doesn't mean my tint is illegal. Even an untrained eye can see that my tint is not dark enough to be illegal. A window tint installer, obviously, should be able to see the difference. Even the customer waiting with me laughed when he overheard that my tint is "illegal". James was installing tint on this guy's truck that was a lot darker than my tint. So I left and took my car somewhere else so they could put a meter on it. The meter read 42% (40% or below is illegal in Louisiana). Unfortunately I have to deal with Shade Tree because they are the only ones in the area that install the window film that I use. Hopefully when I go back there this week James will have an approval from the warranty department to do the job. I am very very patient and can easily deal with rude or bad service but at least know your shit. If you only do one thing do it well if you want to have a thriving business. read more

Both of my front windows were peeling from after market tinting after it left Toyota's factory. It took about five years before it started peeling so Toyota would not stand good for it. I discovered ShadeTree while driving down Airline Hwy. They removed the old film and applied new tinting in a matter of 2-3 hours. I am writing this review a year later and all is still good. I just had my third vehicle tinted here and I must say that the level of service is excellent. I have one question for Steve who had a complaint against this business. Why didn't you get your warranted tint fixed at the place where you bought it? I'm guessing that they didn't stand behind their product and didn't really care what you or anyone else thinks about their level of service. I would love to know what kind of review you have that company. I'm hoping that you're not a hypocrite. Stopped in for what I thought was a windshield that needed to be replaced. Was pleasantly surprised when the guys didn't try to sell me one! They let me know that the leak wasn't from the seal around the windshield but from my sunroof. Although they couldn't fix it, they let me know who could. I bought a groupon and the guy doing tint there obviously didn't like the fact that I bought a Groupon. That's fine though but what's funny is he tried to take advantage of me because he must've thought I was a naive little girl and tried to charge me for windows behind the drivers seat saying that I charge extra for the back windows since there's smaller windows that require me to reshape and cut the tint to fit them. I've never ever heard of such a thing. And when I asked him to explain why he wanted to charge me extra for the back he had the nerve to catch attitude with me. Gladly, Groupon refunded me.
