I accidentally stepped on my L contact and needed one lens replaced, so I went to Costco with the expectation that I could simply provide them with my complete eyeglass prescription. Instead, I was told that the prescription had to involve Metro Optics, a vendor apparently preferred by the doctor's office. The way this was handled made it extremely difficult for me to take my prescription to the provider of my choice. I spent more than an hour at Costco trying to get the information they needed from this doctor's office, only to leave without the complete prescription I needed. The doctor ultimately refused to properly fill out and send the complete prescription to Costco. This was incredibly frustrating and, in my opinion, completely unnecessary. As a patient, I should be able to receive my complete prescription and choose where I want to have my glasses repaired or replaced. I should not have to spend over an hour going back and forth because my doctor's office wants me to use a particular vendor. I have been a gas permeable lease wearer for more than 30 years and have never had an issue with a getting a prescription filled. I am very disappointed with how this situation was handled. What should have been a simple lens replacement turned into a stressful and time-consuming ordeal.

Stone Hill Optical came highly recommended I have an autoimmune disease that affects my eyes making them super sensitive to light. I need transitions with the darkest tint available & every add-on available. Glasses are very expensive with insurance because of this. The exam went very well. A very nice young lady helped me select frames & made the order. I picked the glasses up & there was very little tint. I took them back within minutes. I was told my insurance would not cover the tint & that was the reason. False!! My insurance never pays for add-ons. I asked for my money back & I left the glasses with them because I could not use them. I received a call telling me that it was the lab they use. The one they use does not make lenses with a grade 3 or higher tint. I was not told this up front. I was also told that Stone Hill Optical could choose any lab they wanted but contracted with this particular one. WHY? Is it the cheapest? I was told they would find another lab to make my glasses. I picked up the remade glasses a couple of weeks later. A man "assisted" me with them. I said something about the tint better be right this time. He suggested I allow them to make me a custom pair of sunglasses. Seriously?? I spend over $800 out of pocket for transition glasses & he makes a comment like that. I put the glasses on & he told me they looked straight & no effort to make sure they fit other than that . I just left before I lost my temper. I went back to have the nose pieces switched out. I got stuck with the same guy as before. He gave me the last pair of silicone nose grips they had in stock. I had to ask him three times before he told me the size of the grips. Customer service is MUCH to be desired. My glasses still do not fit properly & still do not get dark enough in sunlight. I do not live in Pflugerville & am recovering from major back surgery. I will have to go back again when I feel up to it to have them properly adjusted. I definitely will not let the same person assist me again. Stone Hill Optical may be good for those with normal eyewear needs. I honestly do not know. I do know that I will not use them again next year. I do not recommend Stone Hill Optical to anyone who needs new eyewear with major eye issues. The doctor was good. The rest was a ...well definitely not a good experience.

I came in to get new lenses for my kid's existing frames (re-lensed), and they quoted me $210. Target was $180, and Costco was just $80. The manager guy said it would be cheaper if we picked a frame from their selection. I joked that my kid was really attached to his frames & you should ask him if he wants to change his frames! Instead of a normal response, he coldly shot back, 'You're the parent.' Oh okay, ya unfunny Bill Burr looking jerk. So yea, I took my business elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend this visionworks. Seems like I'm not the only one who's had a weird customer experience here.

I was able to pick out the glasses I wanted. They have a 2 week turn around for glasses. It was a quick, in and out process. Watch your total at the end to make sure they didn't put any upgrades on the lenses, frames, etc, as they tried to do with me. When I mentioned I didn't ask for that they took the extra expenses off with no problems nor pushback.

If you're getting glasses, many of the frame prices are between $50 and $80 which is quite reasonable. They do have some frames that are between $120 and $140, but those are the exceptions. I decided to get a new pair of prescription progressive glasses and sunglasses. Without insurance it would've been over $500 but with insurance I got out of here for $350. In a week you will get a text letting you know your glasses are ready.

They are the best and they have works of art at an affordable price. I'm going to get my glasses updated because the migraines returned this weekend. Since my vision changes seemingly every two months, they work personally with my optometrist. We talked about how stress can affect your vision. I never thought about that. This is another reason why they are super awesome. My kiddos chewed up my glasses, I was gone an hour. I just got those glasses and because of the prescription they cost a little bit more. After being upset then freaking out thinking that they ingested glass and calling the vet, including Chewy, few neighbors. I reviewed the camera footage and saw what happened. My cat Gracious got my glasses off of the table and brought it to Scrappy Doo my LabRetriever. I can't have candy anywhere because she takes it and brings it to them. My kiddos stick together. I have to have cameras to monitor them.

Now, to the subject of the contacts I paid for 150.00 Ins. & 110.00 out of pocket for a total of 260.00 & I could not wear the contacts she recommended, so returned to office to order contacts I can wear. Just told her to write my presc. for the brand & strength I had before, TOTAL WASTE OF TIME & $ at this point. Dr. took the contacts back, but only replaced them with 120.00 of contact brand that I had previously worn, which is a cheaper brand. I guess the remainder of the 260.00 was her tip of 140.00. Total spent with for exam & few contacts, ( Ins. & out of pocket) 540.00 & only enough contacts for 5 mos. I DO NOT RECOMMENT THIS OFFICE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! ITS all about her bottom line.
