I broke my prescription sunglasses on the ski mountain and needed a new pair as I am in Aspen for six weeks, away from my home optitician. I took my broken pair to Optical Options and walked out about 20 minutes later with a great, reasonably priced pair of glassesvusing my oiginal lenses. Tim helped me select a frame that would work well with my lenses, he molded it to fit the lenses perfectly, and I was set to go! I highly recommend this business! read more

Tim saved my vacation with his prompt and expert service. I walked in with a busted pair of glasses and my ancient goggles that I loved & was in and out in about 30 minutes with new goggles and prescription lenses. They fit perfectly. He also walked me through caring for them as well as all the charges. Purchasing gear slope side is often pricey but I found his prices more than fair. I was in need of some prescription goggles when we arrived in Aspen. I'm so glad we found this place. The owner, Tim, had just closed, but heard us knock, and let us in. I walked out 15 minutes later with custom Rx goggles, ground on site!!! I couldn't be happier. He also carries Tom Ford glasses. I plan on returning later in the week to browse the beautifully curated frame selections. Tim knows what he's doing. You can tell he has 40 years of business experience. If every business owner was as excellent as Tim the business world would always be a fun and fair experience. Living inAspen I buy everything online but my glasses because of Tim. Plus if I ever bend/break them he takes care of you! To address the prices, this is something I have to explain to visitors all the time, even if Aspen wasn't a luxury resort destination the prices would still be above MSRP simply because shipping to Aspen is ridiculous. If I didn't get free shipping from Amazon Prime I wouldn't be able to get anything easily!! read more

Tim repaired my multiple pairs of glasses ...and gave me fantastic advice on what to look for when I get back to DC...and wouldn't take a penny for his time and trouble. Okay, all one needed was glue and the other needed just a bending of the arms, but still...that's rare. And his overall attitude on life leaves you waking out of the store with a smile. The prices are competitive but the real edge is the service from Tim the proprietor who moved west from Chicago to open the place 20 years ago. Horrible store. Horrible owner. The store has a hidden NO REFUND return policy buried on thier sales slip. I bought a $500 pair of glasses, with the understanding that they could be return. The owner said sure you can return it, but you get only get a store credit, and I don't live in Aspen. read more

There is nothing worse than having to deal with with an unexpected need for eyewear when on the road for business or pleasure. You have little to no knowledge of your options, have to take away from the limited time available and can only hope for the best. Lucky for me and now for others who may find themselves in this situation in the Aspen/Snowmass area that Optical Options and specifically, owner Tim are available to save the day! The superior customer service started with the initial phone call, continued when I walked through the door with frames squarely busted in half from a nice little fall taken on the slopes( nothing else broken but maybe a bruised ego :) ) and came to an incredible finale when I walked out twenty minutes later with lenses placed in a fantastic new frame! Oh yeah, and just to top it off, he provided me what he called his St. Patricks Day discount to boot! Tim, the owner, was very helpful when I stopped in to get my sunglasses fixed while on vacation. After fixing the glasses he had all the time in the world to teach me about some important tid bits about the town (e.g.: gondola ride is 14 minutes to the top.) Great Experience. We were on vacation when my mother bent her wire bifocal frames. We did not think they could be repaired. Timothy spent over 20 minutes using several tools to fix the frame. He also gave us many helpful suggestions for our next frame purchase. Wish this store was in Chicago. read more

Visiting from Connecticut and have a pair of discontinued Tag Heuer rimless frames that are practically falling apart. I love these glasses but have been told countless times by numerous shops around the country that the Tags are no good and they won't touch them. Tim set me straight on the problem (bad lens material) and got me back in business--temporarily at least--with some delicate tightening and adjusting. This shop is honest, helpful, friendly, and Tim knows his stuff. Wish I was staying long enough for him to order replacement lenses. read more

Wish I could post no stars. The rudest man I've spoken to in Colorado. I used to say "all Coloradans are so sweet". I was recommended to go to him for a glasses adjustment and instead of politely declining he gave me the most smug response. My one attempted transaction with Optical Options was likely one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Oakley directed me to contact them regarding a potential warrantee issue with prescription eyewear (apparently a optometrist dealer needs to initiate a claim because of HIPPA law). Anyway, Optical Options said they would not consider helping me out even directed to do so by the manufacturer and asked me "why would we help you out? Why?" I told them that I might be a potential/future customer and they hung up on me. Such rudeness from a business is unacceptable in my opinion and I would recommend choosing another option. read more

I visited Tim for the first time a few weeks ago to get a few pairs of children's glasses. After speaking to him for a short while, I could tell he really knew what he was talking about. My husband has been having a few problems with his first pair of glasses in 15 years (he's been wearing contacts) and after taking them to the crappy chain we got them from twice to be fixed, I thought it would be best to ask Tim to take a look. I had the glasses FedEx'd to me and Tim adjusted them the best he could without my husband present. The glasses were much better after Tim's tinkering, but he could only do so much with such horrible lenses. We decided to bite the bullet and buy new lenses with Tim, and I'm so glad we did. My husband can actually see without getting a headache and seeing crazy colours. I would recommend Tim to anyone and everyone, and plan on sending him some sunglasses from my home in Florida to put prescription lenses in. Yes, he's that good. read more
