I've been going to Optimal for years and getting one 90 minute message once a month. last time I went my misuse was sick I got so sick that I was sick for the entire month of February so I asked if they would make sure that they cleaned and sanitize the room before my message and to make sure that she wasn't sick. Not an unreasonable request. They called me the day before my appointment to tell me if I was sick I shouldn't come and that my misuse was kinda stuff up. I told them that they should tell her not to come in instead of me because I wasn't sick anymore. I understand that people have to work but not at the expense of others health. This was my first time here and I was in dire need of a massage today and was SO happy when I saw they had an opening. I saw Richard and it was only his third day so I was a little nervous at first since there wasn't much information about him and his technique but I called and actually got to speak with him and told him what I was looking for and it was so relaxing and all the tension I felt in my neck and shoulders is gone. I got a Groupon for a massage at Optimal and redeemed it in October. I had just given birth at the end of August and was in need of some serious unsnarling and relaxation. I chose a hot stone massage and had Mike Romero as my therapist. This was probably the best massage I've ever had. Mike was so attentive to what I needed that he added in some deep tissue work on top of the hot stone because my back was so tense. As much as I love getting my muscles really worked on, I seem to always tense up when a therapist really digs in deep to loosen me up. However, something in Mike's deep tissue method made it a 100% tense-free experience. He was able to unsnarl my muscles without me flinching or tensing. I have never had that happen and I LOVED it. Mike and the other staff I interacted with were all very professional and friendly. The atmosphere was very relaxing and warm. Some spas can be a little pretentious but Optimal feels very homey. I started seeing Michael Wolff for corrective therapy about 6 months ago every 3-4 weeks for lower back pain and just to give my body a break from my wear and tear workouts. His massages have literally changed my life. My back pain has decreased tremendously and I can now do daily tasks without being in pain. I can't say enough great things about him and his technique. I've been to a few massage studios in the area, but I never knew what I was missing until I received a chair massage at work from Jeanenne last year. I enjoyed that 15 minute session so much that I signed up for a 1.5 hour session at the studio. I had my second appointment with Paiget on Tuesday and she is amazing. I have struggled with plantar fasciitis for months and it has been my two appointments with her over the past few months that have cleared it up about 95% and I tried everything else prior. If you need your **** worked out she is your woman. I'm sure she would be great if you are just looking for a feel-good relaxing hour, but I don't go to OM for that. I go to fix things and they are true professionals, so knowledgeable about the body, and experts in what they do. I have also seen Kim Wolff and Jeanenne Browning and they are equally amazing. I'm thankful to have a few of the therapists to choose from when trying to fit it into my busy schedule. So much love for OM.
