Because the park was a little off the beaten path, it wasn't super crowded. Everything was clean and in good working condition. All of the other families utilizing the park during our visits were kind, and everything felt very safe. Appreciated the large parking lot and the easy access from I-77. Whether you're a local or just passing through the area, this park makes a great place for the kiddos to burn off some energy and enjoy themselves.

I really like that this park connects to the South Fork Catawba River Greenway. It's pretty short, but a nice walk. It also connects to the town of Cramerton and another section of the Carolina Thread Trail down by the Catawba River. I'm sure the park itself is also really nice when it's not under construction. I definitely recommend checking out the trails that connect to it too.

Operated by the City of Cramerton (which I think I've never heard of), Goat Island Park features a…read more3/4 mile paved surface trail, observation pier, two canoe/kayak landings, picnic shelters, disc gold course and an open air amphitheater. The park has been open since 2012 and is in excellent condition. The park is 30 acres with hardwoods, vegetation and wetlands. It gets the interesting name from the town's founder, Stuart Cramer, who released goats onto the island to control the weeds dating back to as early as 1910. We were going to go to the pool area but it seems like it never opened. So we stayed in the free part of the park and enjoyed ourselves. After the boys were finished, we changed out of the wet clothes and took three trips around on the train. The boys also loved the ride and for only $1 each person, it was a bargain. Once we got back in the car, the boys immediately were knocked out. I can see why families would enjoy coming here.

This is one of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are beautiful views, playgrounds and lawn space for children's play, plenty of parking, trails for walking/bike riding, several bridges, and large trees to compliment the fields. The park is well-kept as everyone here ensures cleanliness and top maintenance. As my dad and I sat down on the bench and soaked in our surroundings, we observed a plethora of activity which included some people flying drones, kids competing in the playground's obstacle course, elderly folks walking, dogs running amok, people racing toy cars, and a few people cycling. The positive energy and vibes were radiant. I'm glad we stopped by here. Definitely worth a visit in Charlotte!
