    Never any negative issues with in store or telephone service. People working for Optimum resolve issues readily.

    Their customer no service has to be the ABSOLUTE WORST. We…read morerecently changed to a different internet provider. I went to their store to return their equipment and was told they refused to take it back until I cancelled my service and refused to cancel the service in the store. I had to cancel over the phone. So I called and after explaining I was canceling their service, I explained my new service was HALF THEIR PRICE and when I called them about reducing my bill a couple of months ago,was offered a one time $15 credit. All of a sudden, they were offering a reduction in price to meet the new provider's price TOO LATE. TO COMPLETE THE CANCELLATION, I Was transferred to 3 different people each of whom had to try to convince me to set with them. All together I wasted over 35 MINUTES on line canceling the service. AVOID OPTIMUM AT ALL COSTS.

My credit card number was stolen, so it seems like I updated everyone but Cablevision with the new card number. So instead of calling me or emailing me (they had both) they just shut off my internet. What was worse, I did not realize the cause so I called their tech support and it KNEW my account (based on caller ID) and proceeded to take me down the troubleshooting route (go to basement, press button, unplug.. etc). Only to find out later it was for non payment. How could you run a company like this and not realize this possibility? ... or to check review sites like Yelp for these issues? Or ask their employees, because it is certainly happening. "You've called tech support and the account has been discontinued for non payment, let us transfer you to billing so you can pay us". WTF
