I have had an overall positive experience here, however a couple things need some work. A family member had a dental procedure and when scheduling the appointment, the communication about when the doctor was available was incorrect and I was called to reschedule after I rearranged several things in my life. Once at the appointment, day of the procedure, the waiting room is very small and the seats are not comfortable, the length of time it would take was not given and I felt like it was rushed. The practice needs to slow down and for minor patients the doctor should see the parent prior to the surgery, I was highly upset I did not see the doctor that very day. Slow down and communicate a little better with insurance and instructions instead of making it about money. read more

i cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Masi. He's extracted all 4 of my wisdom teeth over a few years as an adult, and all times i've been in, he's been open about the risks of the procedure & his office staff is so kind. the times i've been in, i've been in significant pain, crying through the procedure (through no fault of him! just pain in extraction of being awake during a wisdom tooth!) he's efficient and uses new technology (PRF) to expedite healing. i appreciate that i've never been judged for going in my pajamas because i rolled out of bed and showed up looking like a bum, crying in pain. i hope i never have to see him again, but you are in great hands here! read more

Part 1: I waited over 2 months for an appointment for severe TMJ problems. The bedside manner, discussion, and treatment plan was sub-par. They did not communicate with my dentist for future care, even though I was told to see them. Finally, not only was the care I received less than my dentist (in terms of what to do, as I've been following their care plan for over 4 months) but they displayed stereotypical and harmful behavior towards someone with mental illness including questioning my sobriety while also needing me to simultaneously explain what the illnesses were, making me feel like an animal in a zoo. Then after all of that, they prescribed me a medication that has dangerous interactions with 1 of my medications for mental illness, and when I alerted the office of this, I was not called back by the doctor. When he did call back, he argued with me and told me I was wrong about the conditions I had listed ON MY CHART. Part 2: Both of the medications they prescribed for me have dangerous interactions, including a serotonin overdose. After speaking to the doctor, they were not even aware of all of the conditions, despite me telling them, they never even let me know the only other option was surgery. Part 3: I saw a real oral surgeon. Not only did my doc miss the massive bone joint damage on the right side of my jaw (which was visible to me and my wife), but he also suggested a surgery that at my age borders on medical negligence. The treatments were out of date, including the medications prescribed, and the actual treatment supported by my new doc is one that my surgeon told me point blank to my face "does not work." As for the owner's, you cannot get a hold of them and when you try to contact them (for instance, to get the xrays they said they would send and did not) there is no number. It would also be great if I didn't have to shame them and still not get an apology from the egotistical surgeon who missed serious bone damage and ignored all of the paperwork from the previous docs I had visited over 5 months. This is why people will continue to get hurt by doctors - medical negligence without any shred of accountability. They will also block your reviews on other platforms/places where you are looking to contact them. They genuinely think they are better than you, and mistakes that can ruin your life are nothing but a "whoops!" If this place had its way, I would have spent almost 1 year recovering from a joint replacement that would cause me to lose my job and not be able to support my family. I would also need this surgery done at least one more time due to my age. Unconscionable. When I spoke with the office manager, the information from my chart was completely incorrect, meaning the doc ignored all of the forms I filled out. They took no shred of accountability and sent me along with a promise to speak to the doctor. I won't hold my breath on that one. Please avoid these people like the plague. You're better off doing the castaway method and removing your own tooth with a figure skate. I'd give them 0 stars if it were possible. read more

Zero stars! Just terrible. Front desk billing woman said optimum has been having trouble collecting from your particular insurance so if they don't cover it you will be responsible. I have a great major medical plan and dental insurance. I had called ahead to make sure that optimum took my insurance prior to making the appointment and also called my insurance company (I happen to work in benefits). I said I would go elsewhere but added that I found it to be an odd practice of ultimately saying "we MAY take your insurance." Who would ever pay thousands when they could go to another doctor? I was ready to leave and find another practice. She quickly switched gears, she offered to call the insurance company again and came back and said my estimated cost would only be $495. I ended up paying over $1300 out of pocket!! 8 months later I received a bill marked "past due" even though I had not received any prior bills. Optimum was trying to collect more money from me saying my insurance didn't cover the surgery. The bill was three pages long and they charged for services under multiple codes where a single medical code could have been charged. The bill was padded and the prices were outrageous. The entire experience felt less like a medical practice and more like buying a used car from a fly by night dealer. Everything about this office felt sketchy. read more

After a nightmarish experience at this practice in April, I held off on posting a negative review, however I feel that it's important to warn other people of what happened to me there. I went to optimum for a tooth extraction of a failed root canal. Dr Massi did not do an exam prior to the surgery (although I was charged for one). He mentioned offhand that the crown on the tooth next to the extraction might pop off during the extraction and that's when I realized HE WAS ABOUT TO PULL THE WRONG TOOTH. My dentist's office had accidentally marked the wrong tooth number for extraction, however Dr Massi never took the time to even ask why it was being extracted - if he had he would have known that the only tooth with the crown is the one needing to be pulled. And he never did an exam to verify which tooth should be pulled. Then, during the surgery, the assistant started calling loudly for help repeatedly. No one came, and Dr Massi didn't pause the surgery. The assistant then fainted mid surgery. Dr Massi reached over me to grab her arm to keep her from falling to the ground. A couple of staff members came in to help and then Dr Massi left my side mid surgery and attended to the woman who had fainted, as I was lying on the table. I don't know why he didn't let the staff members attend to her while he finished the surgery. When he did finish the surgery they said "ok you can go now" and I had to ask for post operative instructions. It was a surreal experience. Prior to the surgery they went over costs with me and I agreed to pay $2,406 that day and was told that would be the total amount, no further charges would be made. And just now I got an additional bill for $288. Please stay away from this office. Not many dentists refer to them, for good reason. read more

No expectations and only my faith to guide me: After an awful experience at a different practice for an oral procedure I was led to Dr. Chad's office by way of divine appointment. Lord knows I hate needles and my experience at the dentist's office is one I'd rather forget. I remained optimistic for what I'd encounter at Optimum Oral Surgery Group. After meeting Dr. Chad's other half at Pure Endodontics (right next door) for an exam (which was a pleasant visit), I was able to meet with Dr. Chad as a walk-in appointment for further review of my tooth. After the consult, his staff thoroughly reviewed my paperwork to explain to me in detail my treatment plan options. I came in for an appointment and my experience was better than I expected. I have a phobia of going to the dentist and have triggered memories of past experiences with other dentist offices, but I genuinely felt cared for, my concerns heard and questions answered. Dr. Chad's assistant, Erika was sweet as pie and made me feel like I was a family member of hers pre, during and post my procedure. Post my procedure I followed the instructions that were explained to me and clearly spelled out on the paper I went home with to heal. I woke up with a very painful jaw ear area. I went to dentist of 40 years and was told it is ear pain. I quickly my drove to my ENT to be prescribed Prednisone. I found relief but once the prednisone was tapered the pain came back with the vengeance. I went back to the ENT that now gave a diagnosis TMJ. I called my orthopedic who in turn gave me the name and number to Dr. Masi. They for gave me and appointment for June but when I told them the amount of pain I was experiencing they called me back with a next day appointment at the Mullica Hill office. Dr Masi treated the TMJ, but did not stop there. Dr. Masi looked at my health history and was very concerned that I might have Lupus and advised me to follow up with a rheumatologist. I was leery of Lupus because I'm 54. Another doctor's appointment and blood work to confirm yes I have Lupus. I have nothing but pure gratitude for Dr Masi. By the way, the Mullica Hill office is beautiful and the staff is kind. read more

Was not happy at all with this place other than the front desk! Went for tooth extraction and was told I would need a bone graft. They told me a price of 2400 dollars up front for the day if i did that on top of the extraction which I could not afford! Then it's 2900 for the implant! The Dr Chad barely spoke to me before the extraction and was rude when he found out I wasn't doing the bone graft! I have a phobia of dentist for this very reason! read more

They continually told me that "if my insurance didn't cover it would be ____" when all along they knew my health insurance would not cover my wisdom teeth surgery. I pay a lot of money for my health insurance to then have to pay THOUSANDS of dollars for a surgery that is covered at other oral surgeons. They knew all along and were not honest and afterwards were so unprofessional, nasty and rude when they were caught. They knew they could take advantage of a younger female. I had to write and express my gratitude to Dr. Don Rebhun and his staff in the Voorhees office. I had a less than satisfactory experience with another oral surgery practice and lost faith in them. It was recommended that I try Optimum and I am so happy I did. From the moment of the first visit, Dr. Don made me feel comfortable, listened to and instilled a sense of safety in being his patient. The first practice said that I would need IV sedation to have two teeth pulled. Dr. Don said I could do it safely under local. So local it was! In less than five minutes both teeth were pulled. I followed the post-op instructions and had minimal swelling and pain. Three days later, Dr. Don called me himself to see how I was doing. I went there yesterday only for a panoramic xray... I didn't go to see the dr..but he was standing there as I got it.. This was in Moorestown.. I had dental work in Cancun Mexico and I was really worried something was wrong. Which there was the cap was falling off. . I needed to send an X-Ray to my Dr in cancun.. I received the X-Ray and I just asked the Dr a question. Do they look ok are they still in cheekbones . He answered maybe ... I realize he doesn't have to help me but I felt so bad that I even asked him...what ever happened to Drs that helped people. Is it all about the money. .. I left there feeling horrible. Nightmare. Optimum was recommended to me by my dentist for an implant. I have dental insurance and paid in full up front, $2700.00.This did not include the cost of the veneer. I asked if there would be any additional expense and was told that there would be none. After bone grafting, a metal reamer was broken in my jaw. I was told that it could nt be removed but it would not hurt anything. The implant was inserted and became infected within 2 weeks. I returned and this procedure was repeated. Dr. Rubhun dug so deeply into my jaw that I ultimately was hospitalized, I literally writhed on the floor in agony and was taken from my home in an ambulance. I returned to have the implant redone. Again, it got infected within 2 weeks. I returned again, the implant was removed and bone grafting was done again. At this point it was obvious that the infection originated at the Optimum office. Again, I returned and was told that the grafting looked great and was scheduled for a 3rd implant. When I arrived I was told that I would have to pay an additional $1800.I was then told that the last bone graft failed, that my jaw was "mush" and that the implant could not be completed. I have since had the work done with another office. Complete job, including veneer $2500. No pain, no infection. read more

I paid them another $50.00 with a not saying this was ridiculous to pay $600.00 to have a tooth pulled. Money for no care. I don't write a lot of reviews of medical professionals, but I was so upset with this experience that I had to say something. I have a molar that broke in half. I was in pain, and the tooth was infected, with pus coming out of it. Despite that, I had to wait weeks to be seen. Thankfully, my primary care doctor gave me antibiotics to help with the infection. When I got to my appointment, I was told that there was no air conditioning that day. It was 90° outside. The floors were soaked with water, which we were told was just because the air wasn't working. I have never seen hardwood floors sweat, but ok. The office was just generally not clean. I have a SEVERE dental phobia, which I had explain beforehand, yet no one treated me as though they understood what I said. They were rushed and rough while trying to take x-rays. Two different girls tried probably five or six times to take an x-ray of my tooth, but none of the x-rays showed the full tooth. The doctor (Dr. Don) came in, and I immediately felt uncomfortable. He didn't really take the time to talk to me and make me comfortable, knowing that I am a patient with severe anxiety. He jumped right into reviewing my medical history, and he seemed to get more and more annoyed as see we discussed my medical conditions and medications (I have multiple chronic pain and chronic health conditions). He asked me why I didn't tell him that I took medicine for one condition, and, when I told him that he hadn't yet asked about medications for that condition, he turned around and gave me a death stare. I so uncomfortable. He looked at the tooth and confirmed that it needed to come out. Then he told me that he only does twilight sedation, which likely wouldn't work well with the medications I take (I knew that already, which is why I always have to be put to sleep given the amount of fear I have). He tried to tell me that he doesn't put patients to sleep (many reviews mentioning him by name stated that they were given general anesthesia). He then told me that his partners do, so I could see one of them. I was a little bit annoyed that I would need another appointment, as I had made it clear when I called that I needed to be put to sleep. I said ok though, and then he told me that he would need a panoramic x-ray since they couldn't x-ray the tooth properly. That was another $200 on top of the $205 they were already charging me. $400 is HALF of my monthly income (I am on disability due to my chronic pain conditions), and I had explained that I have limited income and no dental coverage whatsoever. Nobody seemed to care. I said that I would do the other x-ray when I saw the other doctor. In the end, I paid them $205, and $45 of that was for the x-rays that I was told were unusable!! Why was I paying for x-rays that weren't done properly!? After all of that, the next day I got a call, which I assumed was to schedule with the other doctor, and I was then told that NONE of their surgeons would treat me because I was too fat (and no, I am not morbidly obese or anything)! I was floored. They told me that it wasn't safe to put me to sleep. I have had three other oral surgeons put me to sleep in their offices in the last ten years, and none have ever mentioned weight at all. I have had zero problems with anesthesia. Unfortunately, I recently moved back to NJ, so I can't see those previous doctors. I felt like they didn't want to treat me, simply because I am complex between my health issues and my level of anxiety (I have panic attacks simply seeing a dental chair, but I was doing well that day, actually), so they made up an excuse. I really felt discriminated against based on health and disability and medications. I was extremely upset, because I had already spent money, and I felt very dismissed. I still needed this broken, infected tooth removed, so I asked for a referral to another surgeon. The only recommendation they would give me was to go to a major hospital like Penn where they could treat me in an actual operating room. I have a broken molar, not a broken jaw! So, I was treated badly, and then I didn't receive any treatment. They kept my money though! I thought surely they would refund me given that they couldn't even x-ray me, nevermind put me to sleep and get this tooth out! I would NOT recommend going here if this is how this place operates. If it was my practice, I would have said "I am so sorry that we can't accommodate you, and we will of course refund your money. Also, I think Dr. SoAndSo may be a good fit for you. I have called over to get you in since this can't wait. Good luck to you." They definitely didn't have the decency to do that. If they had simply done that and showed that they cared, I would have given them a good review. Knowing that a doctor really cares and wants to help you is what most patients are looking for. read more

Very displeased with this practice. First of all, the doctor spent very little time with us during my daughter's consult. Instead we were shown a video about wisdom teeth extraction and what to expect. My daughter was very nervous about not being completely asleep for the procedure and no one calmed her anxiety - just told her everyone is worried about something. The Moorestown office felt dingy and the staff was laughing and telling us about the woman in the next room who was saying funny things when she was waking up from surgery. No privacy whatsoever. Despite my worries, I felt pressured into booking a room for surgery because, as I was told, summer was filling up quick. They had me put down a $370 deposit for an appt for surgery telling me if we changed our mind, they could just refund us. My daughter was very uncomfortable there and I couldn't put her through the anxiety so I called to cancel. They tried to only refund me half, stating they would hold on to the rest until my insurance paid for he consult. I fought this because that was not explained to me. They eventually agreed to refund me the entire amount. It has been a week and I checked my bank account assuming they would credit the card I used. There was no credit so I called them. I am now being told the doctor issues refund CHECKS once or twice a month and they don't know when the next batch will go out. I have no idea when I will be reimbursed for services never rendered. If you care about your dignity or your money, DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE!!!! read more

This business takes advantage of the military by filing claims through their wrong insurance providers for there benefit. They told me they file through dental united concordia 1st visit and after that through humana medical insurance because TMJ is dental not medical makes zero sense (please read humanas medical insurance website that states they cover certain aspects of TMJ and up to 4 visits if medical necessary). This makes you have to pay $170 out of pocket for something humana has already authorized and approved visits for at there specific business (in my specific case I have authorization from my insurance company humana to use this business that they will cover for TMJ) When you make a post on Google about their fraudulent acts they beat around the bush with generic responses and don't address your actual concern. They seem negligent in submitting proper insurance claims and I hope they get up to speed so I don't have to take this matter to the Jag office. Military stay away from this business. *Update: Bianca responded to my e-mail and corrected the issue about it being filed through the wrong insurance provider. She was very polite, professional, and helpful; if I could just give her 5 stars alone I would. On 9/30/2016, I had teeth extracted in the Moorestown, NJ office by Donald Rebhun he was kind to give me a payment of $500.00 to cover what I would owe after Delta Dental Walmart's insurance payment. The insurance approved paid their share then suddenly I am sent bills to pay up on $114.00 they claim insurance didn't pay. I remember the comfort level I had of assurance from the office. Today, I receive from Bureau of Accounts Control an expectation to pay $114.00. It may be only $114.00 the principle of trust is loss. I have only a few left on bottom for chewing. I am Diabetic. I shall live without an implant or dentures cause I do not trust any more. read more

My dentist told me that the pain I am experiencing is a tooth that must be removed. Gave me the names of these people. Pain got so bad, I called them as soon as I got home. Left them all the information and told them the discomfort I was experiencing and wanted to see either brother at either office ASAP. Hardly slept that night. "NOTHING" not even a call back from either office. For someone that is supposed to deal with people in pain - they aren't even worth 1 star. read more

So... they claim to take my insurance, but then padded the bill with line items that aren't covered (literally, the needle for sedation - that isn't covered under their "sedation" cost, they break it out - which my insurance company told me isn't the norm, but legally they can do what they want). They added in a "deep sedation consult" that even their benefits director couldn't explain. They also charged about 35-50% more than other dentist in the area once I got price quotes. Not worth it. Sadly had a horrible experience with this company. Although my interaction with the surgeon and my surgery went great, my customer experience was horrendous. From the beginning I was told the wrong coverage and left to pay over $400 extra for my bill. Additionally, they were tacking up "service fees" when they did not even let me know I had a remaining balance in the first place. As I tried to pay my bill and speak to someone about these service charges no one would give me an answer or would just hang up. They stated that I would have a service charge of $5 a month if I dont pay my over 400 balance but then when I went to go pay in full for them to leave me alone, they tried to charge me even more for these "service fees." I am severely disappointed in this practice, especially since my procedure went smooth. I would definitely recommend going else where because the customer service is disgusting. read more

I recently left the office of Southern New Jersey Oral Surgery of Cherry Hill. My request for the 3-D panoramic x-ray that I paid $350 for at Optimum was not fulfilled. Upon arriving at the office, I was informed that the 2-D pan was sent. What did this doctor do? He took his own 3-D panoramic x-ray of my teeth and jaw... FREE OF CHARGE! I am beside myself at what has transpired the past few months with your practice. Leaving the network two days after my initial exam; not informing me of this decision but instead moving forward with scheduling the surgery. To top it off, I receive a phone call one week prior to said surgery requesting the $3,000 upfront out of pocket payment (surgicenter cost not included). When I questioned the amount I was informed that "we are no longer in the network." This is an important factor for an individual to consider when having such an expensive surgery!!! To add insult to injury, I was sent another bill totaling $160 for "new patient exam". Suffice to say, I will no longer patronize your practice nor will I recommend your services to family, friends, colleagues or anyone with a pair or working ears! John read more
