The Internet is good, the installers are nice and timely. The TV service is 720p so grainy for sure. Upgrade to 1080p or above is more money and they don't say anything about it up front. Where is gets bad is when you call to disconnect. 70% of the people you get transferred to during a disconnect is hard to understand through the accent and english is not the native language for sure. It took me 50min to disconnect because they are wanting you to freeze your acct until you move, ask you where you are moving to?, they are doing everything to keep your account open. Just keep telling them you're not interested. I had to mention calling the FCC to get them to stop the sales games and get me disconnected. The customer service is the main reason I am giving this rating. The internet on its own is 4 out of 5, The TV service 3 out of 5, The techs 5 out of 5. Service and support 0.5 out of 5. I have been able to finally speak to someone in the telephone. She was quite helpful and assisted me in logging into my mother's account. I had to look under the equipment for a serial number. This is not something my 93 year old mom could have done. Everything re support seems to go through an off-site representative. read more

These people who put out adds saying they were the #one rated and as soon as they bought the provider the service went into the gutters. Everyday sense they took over the service has got worse now it only works about 1 to 2 hours a day. I get home from work I'll get one evening a week that I can use it. I created a Yelp account just so I could review Suddenlink. They are the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of doing business with. They care nothing about customer service, throughout all levels of the company. I have been a customer of theirs for 4 years. My woes with Suddenlink started with the installation. Everything seemed fine during the install, but for the first 3 or 4 months, my internet would suddenly lose connection(Suddenlink? more like Suddenly no Internet) and I would have to reconnect my devices. I learned later from another technician(the only worker I've ever encountered that actually helped me) that the man who installed my internet was a drunk and later was fired for drinking on the job. He botched the installation on my house and that's why I was always losing connection. What made this situation worse is that Suddenlink gave me the run around for months, always blaming the problem on outages or suggesting that its my devices that were the problem. They never would send a technician to look at my house. One day I was helping a friend move and met a technician who was installing his internet and told him my problem. He then took time out of his lunch break to come help me(Thanks Daniel). Because the Suddenlink Office didn't care about me as a customer to send someone. This concludes Chapter 1 of their crappy customer service. Chapter 2: The Increasing Bill Every 6 months or so, Suddenlink would suddenly add $15 to my bill (Suddenlink? More like suddenly you pay us more money). Not only that, they wouldn't notify me that my bill was going up or why, they would just increase it and hope I wouldn't notice. When I would go to their local office to inquire as to why they are charging me more money, they say "oh the first 6 months you have a new customer discount". So your company charges me more money for being a long term customer?? You punish me for being loyal?? Thats great. What makes this problem worse is their business model for their office. It consists of TWO employees. No more, no less. And guess what, neither of them is a supervisor or a manager or a boss. Any time I ask them a question or request that they do something for me, they always tell me that they don't have the power or the knowledge or the position to do that. Well then who does?! Who is your boss?? Who can I talk to that does have the answers?? They dont know. Also, they apparently "dont handle billing". I get that the two employees there aren't responsible for charging me more money. But when I ask about the bill, they always pass the buck(no pun intended) and claim that they just can't help me. There was one particularly egregious example. After their biannual bill increase, like clockwork, I went in to the office to ask why I am paying more money, one of the TWO workers there printed out a copy of my bill and slid it across the table to me. No explanation, no helpful information, nothing. She didn't even point at it or say anything. She just stared at me. I told her to explain the increase to me and she said "we dont do billing here". Oh really? Then why do I come in here once a month and pay my bill(I dont do online banking with them anymore because of their sneaky increases) and you happily take my money? You would bleed me dry if you could but you can't tell me why?? Chapter 3: The false speeds I pay for unlimited data and something upward of 100mbs. You know what my xbox and my phone clock it at? 20 or less. Suddenlink: "Oh you pay for UP TO 100 mbs. That speed is not guaranteed. Thanks for nothing you manipulative snakes. If I could storm their office and whip them out of there like Jesus with the money lenders in the temple, I would. And my anger would be just as biblical. The worst thing about all of this is that I have no other option for wifi. Suddenlink has the monopoly on my area for internet. Unless I want Hughes net, which is garbage. I check with AT&T about once a month to see if they offer their internet where I live. As soon as they do, I'm canceling my Suddenlink internet and never looking back. I don't care if I have to pay 50 percent more. If you have read this far, take one thing away from this: AVOID SUDDENLINK LIKE COVID-19. My internet has dropped out 4 times within the last 3 hours today and I'm honestly not surprised. It's unfortunately the only provider in Ruston. Wish we had better services to choose from. Have to reset internet and tv box every morning or else the picture does not come on on the tv , just sound. The reason I don't call them to service anymore is because they are too expensive to come service their own equipment even though it is not my fault. Also on hold for over an hour. I got Double charged and over-drafted my account and has not been fixed they kept it as a credit on my account .... Update : on the phone for a couple hours finally had a supervisor call back and he stated to send proof of overdraft and he would fix the issue , sent it over and still haven't heard anything . Pick up a few days later and our Suddenlink put the overcharge back In my bank account but then charged me a return fee of 25 dollars. I called Suddenlink and the guy on the phone was actually helpful and said He could fix the return fee charge but not the bank charge. So at this point I'm like ok cool I just want to pay my normal bill and quit wasting all this time on hold. The guy told me it was done and he would contact me and confirm in the next 24 hours. Well today it has been well over 4 days and I have yet to receive a phone call and my bill is still showing I owe 100+ dollars for just internet and basic cable. So here we are back to square one. On top of that their billing dept. is only open from 9am to 1pm mon- fri. read more

The word "service" should be used lightly for when it comes to providing service to "Valued" customers that could NOT make it any harder. None of their online options ever fit what it needed unless of course you want a easy way to send them your money. That's easy. Suddenlink it the worst internet provider there is. I pay for 150 mb/sec and I have not received anywhere close to that. My average speed is about 6 mb/sec. I pay entirely too much for this. They have sent five technicians to my house and still have not fixed anything. They do not give me any compensation on my bill for the slow speeds. I have called many times and they always say the same stuff. "Have you unplugged it and plugged it back it back in?" The service is awful and unhelpful. Suddenlink does not care about helping me. I receive on average 5% of the speed I pay for. They then told me I can pay for the 400 mb/sec... How is this supposed to fix the problem? Won't I just be paying more the same results?This is the equivalent of me telling you I will sell you a pound of coffee, and after you pay for it, I give you an ounce and say "Eh, deal with it. We can't fix it unless you pay for more." After telling them the speeds I receive, they stated that they can not help me in any way for my billing because there has not been an outage for 24 hours. On top of this, my internet goes out for no reason at all at random times. I may be watching Hulu and poof, the internet just rebooted. I feel as though I have been cheated.
