Where is gets bad is when you call to disconnect. 70% of the people you get transferred to during a disconnect is hard to understand through the accent and english is not the native language for sure. It took me 50min to disconnect because they are wanting you to freeze your acct until you move, ask you where you are moving to?, they are doing everything to keep your account open. Just keep telling them you're not interested. I had to mention calling the FCC to get them to stop the sales games and get me disconnected. The customer service is the main reason I am giving this rating. The internet on its own is 4 out of 5, The TV service 3 out of 5, The techs 5 out of 5. Service and support 0.5 out of 5. I only gave the 0.5 because I didn't get disconnected. Just a bad way to do business.

I have attempted to utilize the automated system to report the problem. The system tells me to hold and someone will be with me in a few minutes. After a few minutes I am disconnected. This has happened three times. So, I attempted to use the "Chat" function on the website. I waited for the next available person for over 15 minutes. There is a local office in town. However, if you are not coming in to pay your bill they will only give you a business card with the number I have already tried to call. This company is a prime example of what happens when a company has a monopoly on a service in a particular area. Terrible customer service.

However, I have had non-stop problems over the last two weeks, which have greatly disrupted my work, are compromising my employment, and costing me an excessive amount of money in lost employment. I have contacted CenturyLink about these issues nearly everyday over the last two weeks (which also ends up costing me at least 45 min per day and a lot of frustration), I have spoken to their people when they have been outside working on various other installations, I have had repair people out to my home (which the company is trying to charge me for), and I have repeatedly asked for the issue to be escalated. No one will even call me back, the company keeps coming out to disturb the wires as they are doing new installations (this is a new area), and I am being charged excessive fees for something that doesn't even work and is compromising my employment. Yesterday, they even left the top off of the box holding all of the wires at night, and I, myself, had to attempt to put the top back on (which I imagine is dangerous for someone like me that doesn't know how to deal with exposed wiring). Trying to change your credit card is an exercise in Catch-22. Joseph Heller is chuckling. Try to log in, put in your password and then tells you you've exceeded your attempts (1). You try to change your password but you need a code. Guess what: you can't get a code until you put in your password which has to be changed due to your one attempt to log in is excessive but you can't get a code without putting in your password. Round and round we go getting nowhere until I'm ready to defenestrate the phone. Other than that I have no complaints about the phone service.

I kept receiving calls about how I failed to turn in a piece of equipment that I know for a fact we returned with the other equipment. I paid $60 a month for 500mb wifi and was charged $116 apparently for wifi use from 05/04-06/01. I returned the equipment 05/02 and they doubled my rate and tried to say it wasn't for the equipment (because the equipment was obviously returned when I gave the reference number from the receipt) but for the wifi bill and moving fees. The work around it took just to get a person on the line was ridiculous and a 30 min process to get a refund even though they seamlessly transferred the 116 at 3am from an already cancelled account. For them to charge me after my accounts canceled for services that didn't exist is extremely shady. If you can use any other provider do it.
