If I could give Optimum zero stars, I absolutely would. I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years, and since Friday I've dealt with nothing but frustration and unacceptable service. A technician came to my home who was unable to handle the job and couldn't communicate without using Google Translate. I was repeatedly assured that everything would be documented in my file, yet nothing ever was. The technician ended up canceling my appointment, and when Optimum called to reschedule, I had to explain the entire situation all over again. After spending two hours on the phone Friday, my appointment was moved to Tuesday, 2/3/26--only for me to later find out that Optimum cancelled it without notifying me. When I called to ask why, no one could give me an answer, nor could they offer any real help. The next available appointment they offered was Friday, 2/6/26, which was completely unacceptable, and I was told there was nothing they could do. I work in customer service and deal with people all day long, so I understand what good service looks like. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic awareness of who was even sent to my home was beyond disappointing. After this experience, I'm relieved to be switching to another internet provider. read more

When Optimum gives a loyal customer for over 20 years a duel Gateway 6 modem after just upgrading to a higher internet speed and paying more a month, they need to give modems that actually work. Ever since I got the duel Gateway 6 modem a few months ago, I've had nothing but problems, especially with landline internet. It's ludicrous I'm getting charged for a service my family and I can barely use, especially when 5 people have no choice but to drain their cell phone's data just to use the internet. Tech support is not only absolutely terrible, but a severe language barrier for users who speak English only. Optimum's non working modems and dysfunctional tech support is completely unacceptable as a large company! I would never recommend Optimum to anyone, unless you enjoy having no internet access all the time. read more

They drop calls into the help desk. They promise call backs and maybe 1-5 calls gets returned. It took 5 years for me to realize "their" equipment was defective despite dozens of visits from OPTIMUM. "I" sent back their repeaters and put in my own network read more

Hi! I wrote a lovely review on Monday for Liz who helped me at the Wall store on Monday. Today was internet installation day so I had to take the day off work. Ok, totally understand. The installer was so nice but said there was a problem at the phone pole. He said he would call to get someone here right away. Someone came right away and I was so relieved. That Optimum person said to me that he couldn't fix it. He also said he had not information about how I should proceed to the next step. I called customer service which is always a 2 hour call. Spoke with a supervisor who said noone could come today. She said a "ticket" for service had already been submitted for tomorrow and no one could change a ticket. Now I need to take another day off of work tomorrow. This is as much of a nightmare as dealing with Verizon was. Verizon charged me $1300 for one month of internet and won't let me dispute it. I've got to do some deep breathing! I never! complain so thanks for letting me vent! Hope others have a good experience! read more

I have two rental properties in Seaside Park. I start my Optimum cable service starting at the end of May and shut it off after my last rental in September. This year I got a bill for service that was SHUT OFF. When I called, I learned itś the company policy that when you cancel, you still get charged a partial amount. It's like a punishment for canceling the coverage. I asked to speak to a supervisor thinking this must be a mistake, I got a bill for a service that was canceled; the dates did not match up! He says all cable companies do this and I should be happy it is only a partial bill as opposed to some that charge a full month afterward. What?! Now they are selling a cell phone plan. It looks good but unfortunately, I don't trust them anymore. Next year I will be looking for an alternative company. Although they are the only cable provider in that area, I will check all alternatives. Dish or streaming maybe? read more

Understand they are closing. I called to try and speak with rhe branch, was directed to national call center and rep assured me they were opened until 5. When I arrived the young man behind the counter literally said 'Yes were opened, but not to perform any transactions, only to direct people to Brick, its on the door' worse attitude ever! read more
