I chose Option One based on the recommendation of my neighbor. Everything they promised, they delivered. My HOA was very insistent that the panels not be visible from the street. The installers installed them according to the plan they submitted, but they were still visible from the street. I called, and the very next day, the installers came back and moved the panels so that they were not visible. So far, the system has been running for 3 or 4 weeks and I couldn't be happier. I've had my installation for almost two years now. My system still works great. I have the Silevo panels, the ones from the company that was later acquired by Solar City.I haven't seen any noticeable reduction in efficiency so if these were to last 30 years without any appreciable efficiency loss I wouldn't be surprised. I also have the solar monitoring so you can see how much you are saving the world with the click of a button. I slightly oversized my system because I will some day get air conditioning, although I haven't found a need yet. Fans on the second floor have been doing the trick of keeping my house cool during the summer. So instead, I've been making surplus electricity and getting a check these past two years from SCE. Definitely recommend this company. Good people, very professional. They do a good job of providing you a very detailed estimate and good communication during the installation with myself as well as with the city permit office. read more

This company does excellent work. I've had my share of bad experiences with contractors, and I am fairly demanding and expect people to want to do superior work. But I like to push the envelope and I want it how I want it. I'm picky. Regarding Option One, my experience was better than I could have ever expected. Everything from the very beginning when they emailed me different options, to discussing it with them in person and looking at my house together, to the super clean install, and then on the back end to have them button up all of the stuff with the city and Edison, this is a world-class operation. I am super impressed and grateful. Their work looks like an original, new build type of construction -- they even painted around the panel and on the wall of the house where the electrician left it unfinished. Their team of installers was always super respectful, clean, and happy to explain everything -- even problems they had. I was also updated every, single day by one of the great ladies from the office to explain what they did that day and what is next. This was just incredible, and I'm extremely happy with the result. We asked and shopped around, Costco/Sun Run, Solar City/Tesla, Solar Shoppers, Vivint. All gave us an around about same number for cost and financing, but then we noticed differences in panel strength and the amount of panels stated were needed for our average energy usage was different for each company, from 16-22 panels. Internet calculators suggested 15... So we decided to look for a solar company with a longer work experience history and an electrician background to explain our research and why we were getting so many different quotes. Option One Solar is that company. We were able to vet everything their sales rep stated, from company history, finance bank to type of panels being used. And when their quote came in, it matched our research of 15 panels, which we never stated. Pretty up-to-date and honest company. read more

Contacted these guys to obtain a quote on solar installation. I went to their website and was able to set an appt. for today at 10am. I made this appt. yesterday in the daytime, while I was at work yesterday so I could not answer my phone or had time to make a call. Their sales consultant Ashton called me towards the latter part of the evening to tell me that they received the appt. and everything would be fine and he was looking forward to it. It just needed to know my usage details so that he could offer me the best product that meets my needs. I was unable to call him back last night, so I receive a call this morning, but this time he wanted my service acct. number and stated that he was confirming our appt. this morning at 10am. Being at work again, I had made arrangements with my wife to be home at 10 to meet the consultant and go over what obtaining solar entails. She had several errands to do today and her time was just as valuable as anyone else's. The rep sent an email at the same time as the phone call, but mentioned in the email he would need my account number again, or my usage details meaning my annual kwh usage. However, in the email, he stated that they would then set up an appt. to meet. Wait, I thought I had already set up an appt. on your website for 10am this morning??? Secondly, I NEVER give anyone my acct. numbers to anything I don't care who it is. I replied to his email and stated that my usage rarely goes over 5kwh as I had already pulled the info from Edison's website yesterday. I told him a 5kw or a 6kw would be sufficient and said that I thought we already had an appt set for 10am this morning. He replies about 1130, an hour and a half after he was supposed to meet at my home, and states exactly this, "Yes that is correct however we need information about your usage to be accurate in our assessment for you. Please give me a call at your earliest convenience to serve you." But WAIT... I thought we already HAD an appt for this morning, hence telling my wife to be there at 10, AND.. didn't I just tell you my usage?!! After that, I replied that I just explained my usage and pulled it directly from Edison's website and was looking at the yearly usage. I mentioned though that I had made a mistake in contacting them since now he missed the appt. we had set and I told my wife to be at home for nothing. Please cancel everything from this point forward. He replied a simple no problem, I understand. No apology, no nothing. What a way to start off with a company let me tell you! Their loss, I was going to get solar as soon as next month. I contacted 3 other companies and not one was waiting on my to give them my account information before they came out to meet with me. Don't use this company. Their customer service is seriously lacking! read more

Option One installed a 10 KW, 32 panel solar system on my N. Tustin home in November 2016. I selected Option One based primarily on the specific comments they supplied and price. I was a bit concerned that their location in Apple Valley might be too far for good customer service, but this turned out to be wrong. They provided excellent customer service. Their people are both knowledgeable and very friendly. The installation work and equipment were very high quality and the system is operating well. They handled the interface with the Orange County inspectors which had just recently changed their inspection requirements and Option One managed to get everything squared away. If I had to do it again, Option One would be my first choice. read more

OptionOne installed solar panels on my roof a couple of months ago and I couldn't be any happier! It's a great feeling to see the electric company owe me money for once. OptionOne did a great job with the install, their staff was knowledgeable about the solar panels and answer all my questions, they were quick to get the job started and followed up with my electric company and city so that all the paperwork was correct and moving along. I did my homework before I hired OptionOne and they are legit. A lot of these commercialize solar companies just want to gouge you and move on to the next person. Option One Solar are true "local" solar experts for the high desert. It was a pleasure dealing with Scott and his staff. They designed and crafted the best installation for our Apple Valley home. I did look at other solar providers, but they could not match the experience, price, and service Option One gave me. I can't say enough how Scott successfully worked through all the electric utility paperwork and delays. My advice is to buy local and get the best equipment and service. I was having a very bad experience (51 days with nothing happening, multiple phone calls, and nothing but excuses) with a competitor solar company and was SO ready to fire them. I received a call out of the blue from Paul, from an inquiry I filled out previously. I explained what I was going through and Paul & Scott came out to evaluate my situation within the hour after I hung up the phone. After getting the run around from the previous company I put Scott and Paul through the grinder and was probably not a nice customer (SORRY). Scott, proceeded to tell me how he can get the job done without hesitation and would put it in writing. As for price, he beat the other guys with out me beating him up and included extra's the other Co. didn't. The great news is, I didn't have to make numerous calls to get an update(actually I made none), Heather, Megan and Frank always kept me informed. Scott's team did a fantastic job installing my panels as well as all the extra's I asked him to do in my shop. I am VERY happy to say, Scott's people pulled of a miracle in my opinion and came through ahead of schedule. I WILL refer Option One Solar to every person I know that is interested in a solar system.
