Well, it's been a tad over 4 1/2 years since I turned on my Pell Solar installed panels. After replacing my 20 year old A/C Unit and Coil with a much more efficient model a couple of months ago... I am well back into "Net Zero" energy costs. Even with running it colder than before. Bonus! Especially at night. I am getting close to my projected ROI on my out-of-pocket cost of the system. I have to say, buying solar was one of the best investments I made. It pays dividends every month. And with So. Cal. Edison putting in a 14% increase on power... the dividends will only grow. Don't lease. Buy. And consider Pell Solar. I'm glad I did.

Pell solar was the easiest companies that I have had the pleasure to give them my business!!! Shawn from first call to last call very professional and great communication allll along the way! He always answered all my questions and did not make me feel pressured to buy with him. He made it more informative than sales like. I live in the city of Colton and it's known that Colton makes it difficult to work with for solar but Shawn got around it efficiently. I would recommend this company for Solar! Also to make it even better very competitive prices which made it a bonus! I'm a very satisfied customer!

Everytime i have a question about the solar or going through the process Sandra was there to answers all my question. And the installation team was very professional. Thank you Sandra and her team. Thank you Pell Solar Inc.

Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference in solar companies. We were very fortunate to find Pell Solar in Ontario, Ca and worked with the General Manager, Aaron Imamura. We interviewed 4 solar companies two via the Internet presentations and two in person before we selected Pell Solar. The other companies wanted to sell us back up systems, or offer special incentives if we would sign with them. Later we found out the incentives were listed on their website for anyone who wanted to install their system. Our roofer recommended Pell Solar. What I like about Aaron is that he had our best interest in mind in setting up our system. To give you an example, we live in an HOA complex with 118 units and there is not much difference in the size of the three style model homes and their construction. Aaron who is very knowledgeable with the various systems took the time to evaluate our current electrical circuit breaker maxima rating, and made the effort to go to the city and confirmed it could be unutilized without any need to upgrade our current electrical system. At the same time, two other neighbors were in the process of installing a solar system for their homes. Both owners had identical style homes with less over all solar system capacity from what we were installing. One neighbor used a different company and ended up having their electrical panel upgraded. The other neighbor who I referred to use Pell Solar used their current system and saved the cost of upgrading their electrical system. I might note that the neighbor with the new updated electrical system could not close the door to the circuit board breaker because the meter installed had a larger glass meter cover. This neighbor ended up having the frame extended out from wall in order to accommodate for the larger meter glass dome. The other important point was the placement of the solar panels to get the most efficient use from the panels. One of the companies we interviewed with wanted to put all the panels on our flat roof. I was surprised because I did not like the idea of placing the panels in the back of our home with less solar access and an 81 foot pine tree that would cast a shadow. I was fortunate to have an Aurora Shade Report from one of the other companies we interviewed, which showed the best locations were on the pitched roofs in the front and back side of our home. Aaron understood this and built a solar plan that would get the highest solar access. He mentioned the worst placement would be the flat roof since it collects more dirt and requires cleaning on a regular scheduled basis. Moreover, our roof is a TPO covered roof that reflects the sunlight and keeps our home cooler in the summer time. There is a life time warranty on the material and you do not want to penetrate the roof TPO material, since it would void the roof warranty. Also, if you had to install solar panels on the flat roof there is an additional cost to seal the echelon plates by sealing the lag screws through mount and flashing into the underlying rafters. Here you are talking about spending thousands of addition dollars. Aaron provided a solar plan with 10 panels on our front garage roof and 16 on the back side of the pitched roof. Unfortunately our HOA came into play and they approved both of my neighbors systems. One with 15 panels on the back pitched roof and the other home with 24 panels on the front roof facing the street. In our case, we were denied for a lack of information. But in reality the HOA did not want any panels on the garage roofs and tried to make us place them on the flat roof. I'm writing this review because Aaron went through numerous telephone calls and meetings with the board members and in person to make them aware of the California Civic Code 714.b regarding solar installations. He was very diligent in working for us by protecting our rights in what the board could and could not do. Long story short, 3 months later it took one letter from our attorney to turn around this situation and not having to place any panels on the flat surface. I was finally given the authorization letter from the HOA with conditions of panel placement, which I reviewed with Aaron and he saw there was going to be additional cost to add a 4th array, but stated he would cover the cost to get the project completed. Pell Solar tried to layout the panels per the HOA wishes but due to clearances that are required by building code for the city and putting one panel in complete shade they are unable to layout the panels per the HOA request. Pell Solar finalized drawings putting 6 panels on one roof and 4 on the other roof. If you are looking for a solar company that is going to work with you and has your best interest in mind, plus an experienced crew that are competent and proficient in their job, I highly recommend, Pell Solar. We truly appreciate doing business with professional installers and especially working with Aaron Imamura.

Because of that experience, we were very cautious when we decided to add more panels and reached out to several different companies. From the very beginning, HPM Solar stood out. They were easy to work with, communicated clearly, and consistently kept me informed about every step of the process. There were no surprises and no guessing about what was happening next. We were also extremely fortunate that an earlier installation slot opened up, allowing HPM to fit us in just in time to take advantage of the expiring tax credit -- something we truly appreciated. The installation crew was excellent: professional, efficient, and respectful of our property. They did great work and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left, which really showed their attention to detail and pride in their work. Overall, the entire solar process with HPM Solar was very smooth and stress-free, a complete contrast to our previous experience. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering solar.

Natasha was professional and very clear with communication from the start. She set proper expectations on communication with Tesla would take a week or two. Anthony and Jeremiah arrived at the beginning of the arrival window! They were professional, great with communication, and ready to work. I had several questions and they were prepared for all of them and super helpful. The battery removal and install took less than an hour. Naturally Tesla's update took twice as long. LOL. Still total time was under 3 hours. I have managed 100s of installers and worked in Solar, this was a fantastic expierence! Because the Tesla 3 has more storage than the 2 I asked about adding some of my Breakers to the back-up and they had options for us to do that. Obviously we Highly Recommend This Team!

Very disappointed with Option One Solar…read more My Tesla Powerwalls & panels aren't producing & storing energy like before & I set up an appointment with Tesla through their app but the next available appointment was Oct 1st?! This was late July when I set up a service call. An over 2 month wait?!? So I got in touch with Option One Solar, to have them service my solar equipment. Setting up the appointment was easy, people on their end booked an appointment for the following Monday & I was charged the service call fee of $500. Ok I guess, I need these Powerwalls & panels looked at & hopefully fixed sooner than the Oct 1 Tesla appointment. My electric bill was $226! Their service guy came out, I told him what was going on/not going on & he looked in the panels, ran diagnostics through his phones informing me that the panels were working, then not working, and working again. He called Tesla support (Tesla installed this system almost 5 years ago). So basically the Tesla support guy on the phone said that Tesla has to come out & look & repair the system since they were the ones that installed it. So there was nothing Option One Solar could do otherwise it would void my warranty. I'm sure Option One Solar is a good company but they really didn't do anything but made a phone call to Tesla to let me know there was nothing they could do & that I would just have to wait till Oct for my Tesla appointment. I understand that the guy came out to diagnose & troubleshoot the problems & yeah I should be charged for his time, but for $500? I called their office to tell them what happened & asked for at least a partial refund since no physical work was done. They said they would put it in their notes & inform the team members. I wish I knew to NOT call them & just waited & I would've saved $500. I reread the contract & yeah it is stated clearly how much their fee is to come & look & troubleshoot & diagnose but that was an expensive phone call to Tesla for them to tell me, sorry you gotta wait, there's nothing we can do. I won't be calling them for any solar services, this experience wasn't a good one for me.

However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.
