I have been going to this Optum Group for over 15 years, I have never had a rude experience and have been taken care of in timely manner and no problems. Yes there is a turnover of Doctors but as with any group that is normal. If I have an issue I let them know and we work it out like adults. No complaints here. read more

I looked at Optum reviews through Yelp and read: "Praise for specific, caring doctors and PAs, contrasted with widespread frustration over billing issues, poor customer service, long wait times, and disorganization." This is exactly how I feel. I always liked the doctors but the staff in unprofessional. You don't get called back. I had asked for a doctor to contact me and got no response. I'm now with UCLA. I switched after over 20 years with Optum (and before that when they were known as Health Care Partners). read more

Save yourself some time and money by not going to Optum. It is quite a bit of hassle to get any orders in on time for any tests the doctor wants you to do. A whole different story if you need to get follow up tests. I had to reschedule my mammogram and ultrasound every single time because they never have the orders ready! It took over 2 hours to get an order in when I went to the west hills office in person. This office lacks organization and is very poorly run! This will be my last visit to this terrible facility! read more

I have been with Optum for over 15 years, dating back to when it was Healthcare Partners. I have never had a bad experience. I have had no problems scheduling appointments. My primary doctor is very thorough and genuinely shows that he cares about me and my health. I would recommend them to anyone. ty read more

This place is appalling. There is turnover on doctors or physicians assistants every year. Each year they require me to go in for an appointment to refill a simple prescription through no fault of my own, due to my assigned primary care "provider" quitting and going elsewhere to work. The only way they make money is by requiring unnecessary in person appointments that can easily be handled over the phone. read more

Incompetent!!! Do those people even know what doctor is?? I've been trying to get some physical problems taken care of. One doctor doesn't work there anymore, they don't who doing what!!! There's a PA who doesn't have a clue as to what is a mole or ingrown hair!! Plus, where are women going to go for our pap tests???? Maybe UCLA is better. The PA I saw was very nice. The entire support staff and Optum West Hills is completely nonfunctional. I needed a specialist, so they gave me an authorization--for a specialist who hasn't accepted their patients in over a year. I called and informed them, and they got me another authorization for a different location of the same practice. I called and informed them, and I got a different authorization . . . for a different location of the same practice that does not take their patients. Eventually I got an authorization, but it was for an optometrist, which is not what urgent care said I needed literally months ago. Apparently it is just not possible to see an ophthalmologist (different from an optometrist!!) for eye trauma if this is your provider, so wear safety goggles or something if this is your coverage. It's also fun and great that I selected a PCP and made an appointment with her, and then she left the practice and NOBODY INFORMED ME. They just cancelled my appointments without any contact at all. I eventually got in to see a PA, who I did like as a person and who seemed super competent and great. I was told she could be my PCP. I called to make that change and they said she couldn't be my PCP because she's a PA and not a doctor. I made a follow-up appointment to see that PA a month in advance and took time off work for it. They called the day before the appointment to cancel it. Choose literally anyone else. This is unbelievable. read more

They have cancelled my last three scheduled appointments for a basic physical on the day before or the day of the scheduled appointment.....absolutely no consideration for patient's time or needs, just miserable and frustrating trying to schedule a basic appointment for a physical. I would not trust this office at all with a health concern, they can't even figure how how to manage an appointment book. read more

The medical group doesn't have enough doctors to see patients in a timely manner, so they are dumped on PAs who don't listen and order unnecessary, unrelated, and very costly labwork. The PA I saw was more concerned about asking whether I was a user of illegal drugs and ordering tests she did not get my consent for than respecting me as an equal, informed partner in my care plan. Three calls to Optum Patient Support and appeals through my insurer are getting no action. I will be following up with the state licensing board. read more

The incompetence, rude, and down right careless staff that operate this location is mind blowing. For years I've been coming here and for years I've been dealing with the same bullshit. Please hire those who have a reasonable people skill set and have enough brain matter to actually do the basic job description like answering the phone and maintaining proper customer service. If you hate your job that much. Quit and go work at McDonald's. I have been misdiagnosed so many times that I could sue this location and have it shut down. Medical malpractice. And the negligence . Is unreal. They Over book and cancel without notification or communication but still charge you for a full visit. And once you're inside a room! Good luck speaking to any one of their staff member who actually know what their doing. They give attitude and act like they went to school long enough to classify themselves as doctors when they are SIMPLY nurses. And do not have the medical background to speak to their patients as such .. the workers who operate the phone services through Optum. Ha! Clearly Optum doesn't care about how they represent themself if they hire people like such . They phone operators are extremely rude and impatient and if they don't like your tone. They simply hang up" oops we got disconnected". Please take pride in your company and hire people who make u look good because this location has all negative reviews. That's pathetic. So this office is always loosing or changing doctors. Very hard to get consistent health advice from rotating doctors. Somehow they still have many patients as appointments are limited. The staff is a huge hit or miss. Some are kind and helpful and others should not be working in the customer service field and especially in the healthcare field. My personal experience which led to this post: My son went in for a doctor appointment after being in the ER over the weekend. When we arrived we were told he was seeing a nurse not a doctor. I specifically confirmed over the phone when making the appointment that it would be with a M.D. For some reason which I still don't understand we were taken into a patient room to be told by the office staff that because my son is an adult (20) he can make his own decisions about who or when he sees a doctor. She said she didn't know why someone confirmed that he would be seeing a M.D. when an M.D. was unavailable. She also brought up irrelevant information that was found in his chart notes which I found to be extremely rude. She then proceeded to say that he can make his own decisions another 3-4 times. Until he finally said that he didn't want to see anyone. He has a serious medical condition which causes him confusion and anxiety. So he ended up just walking out. I honestly don't blame him. It was an awful experience and I didn't get any type of support or sympathy. This is a good example why some people with mental issues do not get the help that they need. read more

Worse place to come to trust for your health. My provider was changed to a new one, have no problem with that but from my old provider I still had refills for my medication for my thyroid problems but anyway when I call her refills they told me they could not refill that they were gonna call my new provider but my new provider does not want to prescribe me until he sees me which I understand but my appointment was for over a month from now And I have no medicatiand I was starting to get side effects for not taking the medication which included really bad headaches So I called to see if they can do blood work so that doctor could see where I'm at ... I end up going to labs they got the results the next day but Been over a week ago and a 1/2 And I still have not hear any response about my medication I have a optum Portal account I have send messages directly to my doctor family practitioner and I have call to the clinic to see what is going on, I told them the urgent for me to take my medication and so far no response of any kind. When I call the clinic I give all my information and they tell me they're gonna give me a call back which they don't that shows you how this place really take care of there patients!! especially when you are telling them that you stared to get symptoms already for not taking your medication. HEADS UP my provider name is Guaiguil, Patricio and my family practitioner is Carolina Sosa. Hopefully nothing happens to me before finding another place to be seen and for waiting this long without my medications. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Stay away from this Medical Group! They are the WORST! They deny claims they themselves approved. AND West Hills Hospital charged a duplicate charge and then sent it to collections even after all the proof was sent repeatedly via fax, and email! No one will answer the phone, call or email back after several attempts, even from the Insurance company directly. The provider relations dept has not even been able to get this resolved due to no one wanting to do their job at OPTUM or West Hills Hospital!! Save your time and sanity and get any other medical group except this one! Stay away from West Hills Hospital as well. They illegally double charge you and then send you to collection even after all the proof is presented, and no one will take your phone call. They leave you holding for over an hour and then hang up. Its too difficult to deal with them and they will destroy your credit even when its their own mistake and let it sit on a desk so no one has to handle it. I have been dealing with this for over a year now, and it is still not resolved. Pretty pathetic management. read more
