Our guy is 20 months old and had the best time running around and discovering everything. He especially loved the little make-believe town and playing with all the different interactive elements but the water tables were the clear favorite! He could've stayed there forever. Such a fun, engaging experience for kids and parents alike. We can't wait to go back and explore even more next time! PS they supply aprons and water boots in the water table room! Super convenient. I suggest bringing a change of clothes or some PJS to change your little one into in case they get soaked!

The amount of unruly older aged kids running amok pushing and shoving younger kids to play hide & seek was absolutely obnoxious!!! Throwing legos and plastic balls throughout the museum without anyone stopping them parents or staff was totally uncalled for and now I know why barely anything works here. I'm thankful I didn't pay admission fees because I would be sorely disappointed in tear my money paid for. The reviews and photos online make this place out to be so much better than our experience today. The Children's museum downtown is, not only cleaner, it's more taken care of & supervised by staff way better than this museum. It's like adults dropped off their middle school kids and left them unsupervised.

We actually didn't realize that this would be an interactive kind of thing until we first stepped in. Entry is free and you get an immediate hands-on experience once you walk in. We visited on a Friday evening and the crowd traffic wasn't too bad. It was busy, but not extremely busy by any means. The first floor includes asteroids and Mother Nature stuff, like tornadoes and volcanoes. There's a tornado that you can step into and it actually destroys it when you walk into it. But don't think if you've ruined it, because it will come back when you walk out of it. You can also touch the moon and billions old asteroids and play around with a volcano simulator. I even tried to lift a meteorite and it was quite heavy! On the second floor you will find an IMAX theater, where you can watch space movies. Concessions are included like in a real movie theater. No food or drinks are allowed in their other theater on the third floor, however. The third floor is all about space and planets. We got to learn what various planets smell like by pressing a button and putting our nose in front of the vent. We also got to see how water freezes (under a magnifying glass) and a special camera of what our body temperature was like. We also walked into a red planet room with interactive robots. This room definitely looked like something out of Star Wars. If you like anything space related and if you're looking for something to do in the Gateway District, I recommend Clark Planetarium!

I read up on military stories. And sometimes, I was lucky enough to meet a veteran that would share their stories. Hill Aerospace had all of that. Since my wife does the planning, I didn't think much of our visit until we pulled up and those large decommissioned military planes sitting outside in all of its glory brought me back to when I was 10 years old. But the magic continues after you walk in. Within three large hangers housed of some of the most historically iconic planes on display. Add a small platoon of veterans, many of which had personally flown some of these pieces, the stories were endless and I had the honor of speaking with a number of these veterans and listen to their stories. It was an amazing time and I could have spent the whole day there. I don't say this often, but Hill Aerospace is almost a destination museum. It was such a great experience and those veterans made it that much more special.

I'm talking dressed-up crowd, glitter everywhere, real champagne, and the kind of DJ who knew exactly when to drop Beyoncé, ABBA, and a surprise 2000s throwback that had all of us losing our minds. I came in thinking I might just sip something bubbly and leave before midnight. Instead, I danced for four hours straight, made new friends, and now have a very blurry selfie that might become a family heirloom. The setting was gorgeous, by the way. Big open spaces, cool lighting, and just enough art and architecture to make you feel elevated while also clutching your clutch and screaming the lyrics to "Mr. Brightside." The vibe was party, but in a classy way. Like you could go full glam and not feel out of place, but also not feel judged if you kicked your heels off before midnight and went rogue on the dance floor. Which I did. No regrets. Would I go again? Already planning my outfit. 10 out of 10, would ring in the new year under a disco ball surrounded by Salt Lake's most unhinged and best-dressed again.

We weren't expecting it…read moreto be this big and we spent close to 2 hours here getting our steps in and learning about new things we've never knew about. I think the last aquarium I visited before this one was the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California back in 2015. We arrived here a little after noontime on a Friday. I believe it was the last day of school for kids in Utah the same day we were here, so the parking lot was packed. But despite this, we were easily able to find a parking space close to the entrance. You purchase your ticket and then they scan it around the corner, prompting access to the aquarium. We saw so many animals here, including non-aquatic animals, such as various birds and reptiles. It kinda felt like that this was an aquarium/zoo hybrid. The first thing we saw were jellyfishes and how our visions differ from other animals' visions. It's important to remember not to use flash photography when taking pictures of all the animals, as this can spook them. The shark exhibit here, which was wild, was very similar to the one at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, where we live. Two separate touch tank are inside, featuring starfish, sea urchins, and stingrays. They have a South America exhibit and being inside felt like I was exactly in the middle of the jungle in South America with its' humidity in full effect. Inside this exhibit was a massive yellow anaconda, I believe it was about 48" long. I don't like snakes at all, and I'm not going to talk about this any further, so I didn't look at it too much. Other animals found in this exhibit were the red macaw parrot, a toucan, and some poisonous frogs. The frogs were trying to hide from us but weren't trying hard enough. Upon leaving, we almost missed out on seeing the Ford Expedition Asia exhibit (sponsored by the Ford Motor Company?), which can be found on the opposite side of the aquarium. It's a good thing we looked at the directory before we left, because we didn't see it when we first entered. This exhibit is definitely good for kids because they have a playground inside. Before leaving, we stopped at the gift shop and picked up some souvenirs to take back with us. I got myself a snow globe, a sticker to put on my water bottle, and a magnet for one of my friends who enjoys collecting magnets. They have a lot of stuff to choose from, but the snow globe, the sticker and the magnet were some of my favorites that caught my eye. This was definitely worth visiting! I highly recommend if you're ever in Utah.

When we left, the parking lot was overflowing and cars circling around trying to find a parking space. Still, with the influx of larger crowds to parking lot capacity, it didn't feel crowded inside. This is a wonderful place to visit. A wonderful place to bring family and friends..There are animals and species that I've never seen anywhere else, and I've been to the Tucson Sonoran Desert Museum, the San Diego Safari Park, Sea World, Scripps Oceanography, and various zoos. This was a treat. And almost all were active and were seen. Such variety. There is no wasted space in this museum. Walls are adorned, such as a long wall with the ascending walkway going to the penguin exhibit made to look like a South Pole research center. Even every access door for employees are adorned. See my photos. Nice vegetation areas in otherwise unused space. They put a nice climbing gym in what would have been an unused corner, great for parents who need a break and kids to dissipate energy. There are thoughtful benches placed here and there for a sit down rest. There is a very nice small cafe and snack bar to get a yummy huge pretzel, or hamburger and other sandwiches and salads. Looking at the prices, they are very reasonable for a museum/theme park. You are getting a great value for the buck. Whether you are buying for just the day or a membership, I think that you are getting your money's worth. We spent four hours there and didn't see everything, read everything, tried everything. The four hours went by fast. This is a very popular place for good reason--a jewel in the valley. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
