I popped in during a 2-hour lunch break (because obviously that's how adults spend their free time; don't judge me), and left convinced I was born to be a space pirate. The exhibits are glorious. Lots of buttons to push, lights to blink, and things to pretend I understand. It's basically science Disneyland if Disneyland didn't charge $1,000 and had way more meteorites. I had to see the Blue Angels 3D show! Honestly, I wasn't ready. Pilots doing barrel rolls that made my stomach lurch is the best way to spend lunch. I was the only solo adult in the theater, surrounded by kids and chaperones, and yes, I sat dead center like it was my personal IMAX kingdom. Definitely recommend abandoning responsibility for 2 hours for this one. Ha!

Won't return Went in due to rain. It's more like an arcade. Three levels are filled with kids, teens and families, as one would expect. The planetarium is free, $10 for the Dome Theater. Both elevators don't work.

Love the Clark Planetarium! Came here with a little one and she was completely in awe, but honestly I think I was right there with her. They have such an amazing space with so many cool features and activities. Definitely a must see for anyone in the area, local or visiting!

If you have any shred of interest in space, this is a great time! Cline took the time to walk me around and explain a lot of the items inside the planetarium and I really enjoyed our conversation. I loved the interactive exhibits and the asteroids on display. I watched a 45 minute documentary on how the earth was created in the dome theater which was a great experience!

There's plenty of interesting, fun things to do for both adults and kids for no admission fee. It was a great way to pass some time while staying out of the heat. I ended up spending over an hour here and would've stayed for longer, but there were quite a few things that weren't operational. Since I was visiting, it's not somewhere I can come to whenever I feel like it to try the activities I missed. I think this was my first time visiting a planetarium and I had a lot of fun with it. One of my favorite things was the Icy Bodies with dry ice. It was really mesmerizing to watch (see my video). I also liked that they have a movie theater with imax and 3D movies. It would be a nice place to spend time especially if I lived in the area. The giftshop is fun, but not too much actual unique stuff and it can get pretty pricey. The only thing I got was the space ice cream to try. It was interesting. Not horrible, but wouldn't choose to eat it if I didn't have to.

Excited that there were so many activities and there is no admission fee to enjoy all the cool activities and play structures. I think the planetarium maybe sponsored by a company which is great that we don't have to pay to experience all the cool exhibits. Of course planetarium is science oriented and good exposure for your kids to see what space, research and machines have to offer. We spent 2 hours playing with all the cool gadgets while learning about momentum, energy, electricity, building and maneuvering robots on another planet. Everything is hands on and has a feel/touch aspect. Nice to see cause and reaction in the works with many of the play structures and stations. Great it was not too crowded. The only pay part was to watch the imax or the 3-D movie. Not too expensive and worth it just to rest. Great place to visit and spend a few hours!

If you're an aspiring astronaut, or raising one, the Clark Planetarium is your playground. It has all sorts of hands-on exhibits centering around science, outer space and the Earth. It's a rad combination or fun and educational, done in a clever way that masks "learning" with "play." Kids of all ages were running around enjoying all the exhibits. It's free to enter the planetarium itself, then you pay to see the movies, which are optional. The movies are educational and interesting-with a variety of topics. Think a step above the movie your science teacher would show during class on a day where an easy lesson was desired. One of my favorite things about the planetarium is that you can buy snacks at the snack bar for a very reasonable price. My won and I shared a small bag of popcorn and we each had an Icee and the bill was less than ten dollars. You don't find that very often these days.

It's been nine years since the last review, and I'm just going to give it another five stars because it's still excellent! Son and I went today to see the Unseen Universe in the dome theater. A wonderful Utah sky presentation before the show. The show was wonderfully done. The staff is always friendly, and the place is always clean. Having a membership is the way to go!

As parents visiting from out of state without the kids, we had fun. Nice that it was free. A lot of trivia and fun facts as well as some video games to play. I enjoyed the gift shop since a lot of the items were very nostalgic! I don't think it would be that fun for toddlers, but older children would definitely enjoy it.

What an awesome free museum!! There are three levels, each with a different exhibit theme and each with a ton of hands on / interactive activities. The middle has a giant interactive machine. Kids were loving it, but so were adults and I can see it being a fun date idea as well. They have movies throughout the day for reasonable price, cheap concessions and a huge gift shop with all kinds of things from science kits to tshirts to jewelry.

I've lived here in salt lake for 4 years now, and somehow I'm just discovering the planetarium. Admittedly it's fairly small, but there are a lot of hands on exhibits to spend your time exploring. The best part is that it's free (aside from the movie showings that it has). My wife and I spent an evening exploring different exhibits and playing around with all the hands on stuff they have. Then, a week later, we came back to bring out toddler along. 100% this will be something we continue visiting with our kids. There are things to do for pretty much all ages

I'm talking dressed-up crowd, glitter everywhere, real champagne, and the kind of DJ who knew exactly when to drop Beyoncé, ABBA, and a surprise 2000s throwback that had all of us losing our minds. I came in thinking I might just sip something bubbly and leave before midnight. Instead, I danced for four hours straight, made new friends, and now have a very blurry selfie that might become a family heirloom. The setting was gorgeous, by the way. Big open spaces, cool lighting, and just enough art and architecture to make you feel elevated while also clutching your clutch and screaming the lyrics to "Mr. Brightside." The vibe was party, but in a classy way. Like you could go full glam and not feel out of place, but also not feel judged if you kicked your heels off before midnight and went rogue on the dance floor. Which I did. No regrets. Would I go again? Already planning my outfit. 10 out of 10, would ring in the new year under a disco ball surrounded by Salt Lake's most unhinged and best-dressed again.

This museum was very manageable and not overwhelming. We went on a Saturday evening and it wasn't packed at all. The kids loved the real outdoor helicopter, the large truck, the construction area, the awesome market, the cute cookie shop, the bus with card reader, the gym with the scarf wind tunnel and balance bikes, and the Lego race car building ramp. The kids were all really well-behaved and so many of the caregivers were supervising and involved in the imaginary play with their kids which made for a good experience. The exhibits are well varied which keeps things interesting. It was clear that some things are very new and some things are very old and worn out. They force you to walk through the gift shop to leave. The Legos and car bases are ready to be replaced with new ones.
